I am lowering my rating for the fact that the museum was moving to another location. I did not understand why museum specimens need to be collected when tourists visit the museum. They're going to run over the legs of the weaklings. The bulk of the wealth was looted several years ago. Of the valuable things, it was interesting to see Tutankhamun's mask and jewelry. Be prepared for the fact that it will be hot, a lot of tourists and the lack of toilet paper in the toilets! It is specially hidden by employees in order to sell it to you for money!

Some of the showcases are missing or empty, apparently some exhibits have been moved to the new museum, which is scheduled to open in 2023.
Unfortunately, many of the exhibits are without signatures, some of the signatures have been visible since the opening of the museum, many of the exhibits are covered with a layer of dust inside the showcases. The storefronts themselves are wiped from the outside, but access inside is apparently difficult or impossible, judging by the number of locks on the doors of the storefronts. The score for the meeting is 6 points, for the design - 3.
You can take pictures, except for two halls. They said at the checkout that you can take photos for free, although the cost of 50 pounds hangs above the cash register.
If you are not visiting the museum as part of an excursion, then in addition to two controls with frames, you will also have to go through the third one - at the entrance to the museum territory.

Maybe my impression was underestimated by our very cursory tour of the museum. Wow effect - I somehow didn't feel it. Groups are given headphones through which the guide tells, the sound is regulated. The entrance to one door, the exit was cleverly made through the corridor of souvenir shops. There is an open cafe on the territory (at the exit), I have not visited it.

I visited this museum for the third time... this time in early January after 13 years, and each time it was not enough for me. There is a lot to see, but time is always limited for it. There are a lot of people at the entrance, they stood for 30-40 minutes to pass. Of course, there is something to see... even though some of the exhibits have already been moved to the new Cairo Museum. If possible... set aside at least half a day for it.
