For me, this place was terrible! Yes, we knew there were cats, but they lie on the tables and sleep. They are not clean, indoor-only cats—they are let outside and then come back and sit on the tables! They can drink water from your glass, and while they will replace it, it’s disgusting. Cat will only be removed if it’s awake; if it’s sleeping, they won’t touch it.
The menu is small, but there are some options. My friends and I ordered Turkish meat ravioli—4 portions. Waitress said they would take 20 minutes to prepare, but in the end, it took 45 minutes, which is unacceptable, especially since the café was almost empty. The ravioli were overcooked, the dough was too soft, the meat was tasteless, and everything was drowned in a huge amount of cold yogurt and tomato sauce. It was not good, and we couldn’t finish all four portions. The staff didn’t offer anything—not a discount, not even a small gesture from the café. Customer service was nonexistent.
At best, this café is worth stopping by for a cup of coffee and a photo of the old-fashioned interior. Some reviews said it feels like visiting a grandmother’s or aunt’s house, but if that’s the case, then it’s a house where the grandmother can’t cook and wasn’t really expecting you😂

You can find here old stuff, cats and nice atmosphere. Meal is quite good. The spase isn't big, so be ready, other guests will be near)

Nice cafe with cats.
There are a lot of things that are interesting to look at.
The menu is small, I won't say that the cuisine is exquisite, but we followed the atmosphere.
The staff is pleasant.
If you are not ready that a cat can sit on your table without asking, it is better not to go.

I recommend a place!
By points: staff, atmosphere, food and drinks.
The staff is very friendly and cozy. They speak English well, know the menu and can tell you about the positions in it. The cat staff is very fluffy and interactive! Cats can come up on their own, jump on their knees, on the table. I can sleep on you, on a table, on a chair, anywhere. But if cats bother you, the female workers will come up and help you!
The atmosphere is calm. There are many different decorative elements inside the cafe - paintings, figurines, lamps. Of note to me: cute coffee cups, a menu in the form of a handwritten letter, a jar from Germany from under liqueurs is used for storing toothpicks!!
The toilet is clean, well-groomed. The entrance to the toilet is through the refrigerator, it sounds and looks very funny)))
Food and drinks are on the level. Good value for money! My husband ordered an "omelet with cheese" - he was very pleased! And there is a lot of cheese, and not enough butter! I took Breakfast Naftalin, the girl warned me in advance that it was two toasts with pasta, cheese and ... I already forgot ... but it's very tasty! I also recommend it!
Drinks are top!! And the cups are top! I really liked coffee in Turkey with milk and Americano with milk for my husband.))
In general, I advise you to visit the institution!

An unusual and atmospheric cafe! Located in the Balat area, there is no hearty food, only drinks and snacks. The menu is entirely in Turkish, but the friendly waitresses were able to help with the selection in English. Vintage is everywhere, and the door to the bathroom looks like the door from the refrigerator. Well, cats who feel at ease among the visitors of the institution)

It seems that the main visitors here are cats, and if you are without a tail and on two legs, then you will not get a normal place and service. With three tables available (well, not exactly free - cats were lying and sitting on them), the waitress negatively offered us a table outside (the air temperature was +7). No, thanks, no Mothballs.

There are a million cafes in Balata, but we chose this one based on reviews. Because there are cats everywhere)) very lamp-like! The menu is small but authentic, generally delicious, but not to say that it's straight wow. Regular tea is not served after 14:00 for some reason, but with cinnamon - please)
