Rested together with my daughter July 2023. We all remember the hotel))). If you love peace and quiet, then you are here! There are no violent, noisy, loud ones here. Next to a large park and an embankment with cafes, you can walk there, and go to the hotel to rest. Very good location. Within walking distance of almost all the sights of New Athos. From the room window we could see the Monastery, 10 minutes to the old station, 15 minutes to the caves. At the reception you will be offered excursions, and they will also advise you what is better. They climbed all along and across. The sea is across the road, there are few people on the beach. The price of the rooms is for a different purse, there are cheaper, with amenities on the floor, there are more expensive, everything is in the room. The hotel "antique". Mega‑friendly staff. Moreover, absolutely all employees are friendly!!! Upon arrival, we were immediately fed, despite the fact that lunch time was over. The food is delicious. You can ask for a supplement, but we ate too much. Anya is a super‑positive administrator, she will always help, show, tell. Everyone in the dining room is very friendly. Arevik greetings to our beloved ladies, who brewed me wonderful coffee in the morning)). The owner of the hotel has a separate respect, I think if she reads the review, she will understand who left it)). This wonderful hostess does everything and even more to ensure that no one disturbs the peace and rest of her guests. The guard is smiling, the cleaners too. Everyone always says hello to everyone. It was sooo nice for us to be there. They left with tears, really. We still remember the farewell scene. If there are disadvantages, then the hotel employees themselves know about them and correct them. Right during our vacation, we could see how the hotel was being transformed, none of the employees were sitting idle. Anya told me what else will be completed in the near future. To be honest, I couldn't bring myself to write a review for a long time, we are very afraid, after many positive words, more people will go there and prices will rise))). The historical sanatorium is located on the 1st coastline, from the windows of the rooms you can contemplate the sea, all the sights are within walking distance. The room stock is dilapidated, but this does not negatively affect the rest, if there is an opportunity, I will definitely return here again. The place is beautiful, amazing, the staff responds to any requests.

What kind of service can we talk about if here the cost of a room without amenities is 19,000 rubles for 10 days, and the cost of meals for a child 5 years old is 13,000 rubles for 10 days? Queues in the dining room gather 5 minutes before the opening. If you come a little later, you may not get something. The information on the website about the master classes is a hoax. Canteen opening hours: 8-9, 13-14, 18-19. There is no buffet, there are its elements: for breakfast there are 2 types of sausage, cheese, cereals, balls, toppings, the rest is strictly imposed. God forbid to take 2 eggs per person, there will be a scream, since one is supposed to be. For lunch, the buffet includes olives, olives, carrots, beans, and that's it. There is no buffet for dinner. The portions are very unbalanced: rice and pasta are piled high, meat is good if 50 grams, even for a 5-year-old child it was not enough.

July 2021, excellent location from the sights and the sea. The nature is gorgeous, the hotel staff is open, friendly, if you need anything at the hotel they will help, room cleaning, clean towels, free Internet. The rooms are being renovated, they are slowly repairing what they can, and a swimming pool is being built. Interestingly, part of the building is the Genoa Tower. Iverskaya Mountain and the road to the cave of St.Simone Kananita gives a feeling of the presence of God on this earth, it is better to visit, words cannot convey.
Here we have already left, a little sad and I want to return to the land of the Soul again!

I had a rest from 8.07 to 18.07. 2021. Many thanks to the hotel staff for the hospitality and the cozy atmosphere created. Everyone is received in Abkhaz as dear guests. Special thanks to the administrator Oksana for her professionalism and kindness. The food is varied and delicious, especially pastries.The location of the hotel is convenient in all respects: the sea is across the street, there is also a pier with a pleasure boat, all the sights of New Athos and shopping malls are within walking distance. The plumbing and household appliances in the rooms are in good order, the water is hot, there is air conditioning, a refrigerator and a kettle, linen and towels are changed as expected, special thanks for cleaning the room too.Excursions can be purchased at the reception - everything will be explained, picked up from the hotel. TV, free Wi-Fi in the room, which is very convenient. I didn't want to leave. I recommend.

We had a vacation with my wife in early September. The location is good. It's close to the sea. That's why we chose this sanatorium.
The furniture in the rooms is old, everything is cracking. The air conditioner is cracking like a tractor. The TV is not working. Room cleaning is normal. There is always a queue in the dining room. The food is homemade, but monotonous. Porridge is served for breakfast every day.
There are friendly girls at the reception: Anya and Katya. Thanks a lot to them.

Atmospheric.
Very interesting interior design, unusual furnishings of single rooms on the 1st floor. But. It is gloomy and too close to the Sukhumi highway, where there is heavy traffic day and night, and on other sides around the hotel there are solid ruins.
A pleasant exception is the creative stop in the form of a large umbrella next to the hotel and the fact that the sea is not far away
In general, the impression of the hotel remained ambiguous. But it is the hotel that deserves the "four" after all.

Good afternoon. We had a family vacation from July 15 to July 26, 2022. We read all the positive and negative comments before the trip, but we came for the sea, the sun, fruits and IMPRESSIONS!!! We had a rest for the "five". The location of the hotel is just a fairy tale. The staff, the kitchen staff - everything is at the proper level. The main thing is Abkhazia itself, which has only pleasant memories. If possible, we will definitely come back to New Athos and to this hotel. Have a good rest and impressions!

The convenient location of this hotel attracts tourists. And even in order to take a great photo in the room, you need to check in here)) the only thing I didn't like was that the power is on now.. and it's more interesting for me to go to the cafes of Abkhazia, try various national dishes.. The courtyard is currently being renovated.. they promise to build an outdoor swimming pool.. But I just don't understand, isn't there going to be a very big shadow there? It takes a minute to walk to the pond with swans, 2 minutes to the sea.. I took off the star only because of the power supply.. I recommend the hotel!

From morning to late evening renovation in the neighboring rooms.According to the rate of repair, the completion is approximately in 2025-2028. Excellent location, the hotel is located in the center of New Athos, near a beautiful park, near a monastery and Stalin's cottage.There is also a waterfall, caves and a temple on the mountain nearby.

We are in this hotel now. We have never had a rest in such terrible conditions. The rooms have old shabby furniture, as if they were picked up from a garbage dump. The food is terrible!!! For breakfast, they give porridge on the water. For lunch, balanda soup, only water and no meat. The salad is put on a plate with the second course, like pigs. There's not even a hint about dessert. The sanatorium is more like a homeless shelter. It's a pity the money we paid for the tours. We read the reviews. They were positive. But now we understand that this is all a hoax. There is not even a shelf to put a bar of soap on.The only plus is that the sea is close, the sea is wonderful, despite being caught in the rain. Thanks to the SEA!

I am writing a truthful review about the hotel Abkhazia. Among the advantages: the sea is very close, the sights are nearby, friendly receptionist, Oksana. Cons: there are more of them. The rooms do not match those stated on the website, the food is decent every other day. The dining room is very cramped, queues for food. In the absence of a Leader, the attitude is negative, as if we had eaten them and forced them to cook for us for free, when you come to the end of lunch, they will feed you with burnt leftovers.The hotel is undergoing renovation work, disturbing the peace of vacationers from morning to late evening. The bed and towels have not been changed once in a week. It's Very Noisy From the Sukhumi highway!!!!

Initially, we had a tour to Tunisia and we thought for a long time about what to rebook it for. We considered Turkey and Abkhazia. Since we have been to Turkey many times, but never to Abkhazia, we decided to take a chance. We chose the historical hotel "Sanatorium Abkhazia" for recreation and rested there from September 3 to September 16, 2021. We booked a Family room of the 1st category without a balcony. And we were glad of this choice, because the rooms with a balcony mostly faced the road and it was noisy. Our room 46 was on the second floor and turned out to have a view of the courtyard, it was quiet and there was no noise from the road.
The overall impression of the hotel remained good, not everything has been completely renovated, but it is clear that they are trying to create comfort. The family rooms are quite cozy, equipped with everything you need, I liked that the bed has a very comfortable mattress with excellent bed linen, which was changed after 3 days. There is a good sleeping set in the room, however, from time to time the veneer began to peel off in some places, it would not hurt to put everything in order, they cleaned normally, although there was a moment that there were not enough maids and 2-3 times we did not take out the trash.
About food: the hotel provides 3 meals a day, I must say that everything was quite modest, there were no special delights, but everything is always fresh. The chefs prepared delicious dishes from that small set of products. There weren't enough vegetables. In principle, they did not stay hungry, they did not have to buy anything except fruit. The dining room is small, while there were few people in the hotel, everything was fine, as soon as the next group arrived, queues began to appear and people had to wait for tables to be available.
At the reception, the girls were always friendly, addressed various questions, very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is very conveniently located, right across the street from the sea, maximum 50 meters.
I liked New Athos very much, there is something to see and where to go. We spent time very actively, explored the local attractions and bought 4 excursions. We were completely delighted with the nature of Abkhazia. During the rest, we have never met with rudeness or deception on the part of the local population. People are very friendly.
Only positive emotions remained from the rest. We thank all the hotel staff for making our stay comfortable.

The location of the "sanatorium" Abkhazia is royal!
It is necessary to remove the word "sanatorium" from the name of the hotel, as it does not correspond to reality (do not mislead vacationers). A sanatorium is a medical and preventive institution in which natural factors (climate, mineral waters, therapeutic mud, sea bathing, etc.) are mainly used for the treatment and prevention of diseases in combination with physical therapy, physiotherapy and rational nutrition (diet) while observing a certain treatment and rest regime.
The hotel has outdated information about the pool - the pool is under renovation.
Room service and food are satisfactory. The staff tries to work efficiently. The dining room is small. The menu is varied by day, the food is freshly prepared, served warm,
this is a good level for the dining room.
The rooms correspond to the declared category, but in all rooms facing the Sukhumi highway, it is necessary to change the double-glazed windows to triple (now double, so the noise in the rooms from passing cars).
The reception staff is responsible and kind, but they have few rights!
They cannot influence the so-called "security". The "guard" is constantly sitting and watching TV, and vacationers can "relax" from the TV at the reception. In addition, the "guard" constantly talks on his mobile phone (he will not get up from the sofa at the reception and will not go outside to talk). In short, the complete devil is the limit. The manager needs to establish clear duties for the guard, with an emphasis on fulfilling the requests of vacationers!

The toilet flowed at night - the water was turned off. The food is not tasty and not enough! It's like being in a hospital in a hospital. The standard family rooms are very uncomfortable, the furniture is about to fall apart, the windows have old blinds like in a rotten office. The dining room is terribly small, there are not enough places for everyone. There is no pool in the courtyard, sometimes 2 cripples allegedly work on it. The territory is not well maintained, abandoned. And all this for 71 thousand per adult and child for 11 nights. The worst hotel in Turkey is better, but not this nightmare! The child has rotovirus, I have rotovirus and a cold on my lip. Not a competent security guard. Crossing the line if you're there without a male companion. Don't believe the positive reviews. I think all the money is settling in her pockets and the hostess is in no hurry to invest and improve the hotel. And yet, repairs are being carried out inside the hotel, which is also annoying and disturbing when on vacation

Currently, there are NO spa services in New Athos at all.
Now it is only a hotel with the historical name "SANATORIUM ABKHAZIA".
Of the advantages of the hotel:

One of the disadvantages of the hotel:
- close to a noisy highway,
- very, very, very poor room cleaning,
