Alai District Historical Museum named after Kurmanzhan-Datki
The museum contains expositions reflecting the life of the entire Kyrgyz people, personal belongings of Alymbek and Kurmanjan Datka. The photographs depicting Kurmanzhan Datka and Alymbek Datka have been digitized and presented in a new quality.
It should be noted that the museum was opened on the occasion of the celebration of the 180th anniversary of Kurmanzhan Datka in the Alai district in 1990 in the village of Gulcha (kirg. During the restoration work on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Kurmanzhan Datka, artists and museum staff, as well as employees of the historical Museum in Bishkek, were searching for exhibits.
They turned to the descendants of Alymbek and Kurmanjan Datka for help. So, one of their Tursunai Omurzakova handed over to the museum the chapan of Datka Kamchybek's son and the rope on which he was hanged.
According to historical data from the city of Osh, the so-called Alai campaign began in July 1876, the Osh column of which was led by Major General Skobelev M.D., which ended with the annexation of the southern part of modern Kyrgyzstan - Alai to the Russian Empire.
