The museum is located in the city of Penjiket on the central street of Rudaki, d93. The museum itself has not changed in the last 35 years. The facade of the building was restored. The museum is open from 8:00 to 17:00. It contains unique exhibits found at the excavations of the settlements of Sogd and Sarazma. Some of them are dated to 5,500 years BC.
A very famous museum of ancient and modern history. I recommend a visit to everyone. Very beautiful and cultured.
The history of which is more than 5,500 years old is impressive.
The museum's exposition combines into one story what can be found on the oldest settlement in the region, Sarazm (the city of the times of Sumer and India has already ceased to exist four thousand years ago!) and the hill is a museum of ancient (antique and medieval) Panjikenta. The latter is a contemporary of Samarkand and Rome. It is a pity that so little is known to tourists about this civilization. The context was helped to understand by Mizhgona Ismailovna, a wonderful tour guide who will spend as much time with you as you need and answer questions. Thank you very much!
