A large, beautiful, very organized airport. Everything is done very well on arrival and departure - transit, baggage claim, passport control, security, Duty Free and Tax Free - everything is well organized.
Among the disadvantages, there are few seats in the common waiting area, there are more of them near the boarding gates, but also not enough. People are sitting tight.
A huge airport. There are many famous brands with a large assortment in retail outlets. Catering is also huge, there are many different national cuisines. Convenient use of information systems. There are mini electric vehicles for moving around the territories of the airport. Very clean and tidy. WiFi is free only for an hour and then according to your passport. Then in 2 hours 9€
The airport itself is wonderful. Big, even huge, new and beautiful.
This is his plus and this is his minus.
I gave two stars for its enormity and for the attitude of the Turkish Airlines representatives.
We are a family - mom, dad and three children (2, 8 and 11 years old), flew with a transfer at Istanbul airport. We had 5 hours before the next flight. Everything is fine, there is plenty of time for everything. In departure zone A, we settled into the business lounge and calmly waited for our departure from our zone F.
An hour before departure, we boarded and in the middle of the way we found that the eldest son had left his suitcase in the business lounge, and the adults had not checked. I decided to go back for my suitcase and ran back.
The wife and children arrived 5 minutes before the gate closed. They begged the airline representatives to wait another minute when I came running with my suitcase. As a result, the exit was closed in front of crying children, and a minute later I ran in and two other families came. As a result, 15 people were not allowed on the plane. The flight was delayed by 40 minutes because the airline had to unload our suitcases. And we will spend the night in Istanbul and buy new tickets for a completely disloyal price.
I give two stars for the uninformative signs at the airport, and it's so huge that it's easy not to catch a plane if you don't understand how long it takes to walk to your exit. And Turkish Airlines unit for the attitude to customers - expensive and rude!
Huge, but comfortable! The prices, of course, are not the cheapest. It's great that there are children's play areas. They help to pass the time between flights. Overall, I like it! You can get mobile Internet for an hour for free.
A very large and modern airport. There are Travelators everywhere, which makes moving around such a large airport not so difficult. There are many different shops, including world brands, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Loro piana, etc. There are a lot of duty free shops. And high-comfort lounges for recreation. A small addition on the currencies of payment in stores and food courts: in duty free, you can pay in one of 3 currencies (lira, dollar, euro), so if you have a lira left, do not rush to change it, it is profitable to pay in it, on food courts they offered payment only in lira or cards. On currency exchange: at the airport, change the minimum lira, the rate is not profitable from the word at all, near the grand bazaar there are many exchangers that change at the most favorable rate, you just need to walk around, see where it is more profitable, change everything from rubles to any other currency, do not rush to change your money immediately. A mobile SIM card for tourists at the airport is very expensive from 1,490 lira to 1,900, the city did not specify how much it costs, because the Internet was needed right away. The impression of the visit is only positive.
Deservedly entered the TOP 10 largest airports in the world and is recognized as the largest airport in Europe, designed for 90 million passengers per year. The scale is impressive, it takes up to 19 minutes to get to some boarding gates (travelators save - see photo). A huge Food court for every taste, many different formats of Duty Free and branded stores, elegant decoration of various spaces, Lounge-zone, clear navigation (for the second time we were already very easy to navigate). Of course, you need to visit there to understand the real scale and assess the level of service when all services work flawlessly!!!
A small minus is not a very simple Wi-Fi connection at special racks with a passport scan (there are queues) and Free for one hour.
Just a city within a city! If you did not have time to do shopping, there is an opportunity to go shopping and eat delicious food. Good navigation, it is clear where and what is located. The airport is just huge! And you need to calculate by time that it may be far to go to the exit.
Excellent modern airport. Very large, the navigation is done on an intuitive level. In general, everything is clear. There is a subway, exit N11, we left through exit 13, it is also possible. In duty free, you can pay in Turkish lira.
Well, in general, the best airport of 2024, as there are relevant records and awards. The airport is really very good, there are many places to wait, many with phone charging, food court, cafes, restaurants, shops, exchangers, luggage storage, all this is there and very convenient. A big plus in the airport's piggy bank, the opportunity to come and go by metro, is very convenient and inexpensive.
A large modern airport.
Very convenient transport accessibility, you can get to the city by metro, without traffic jams and unnecessary fuss, this is just a huge plus!
Navigation at the airport is not very informative, but you can figure it out!
A very large and comfortable airport. The entire infrastructure has been created, everything is conveniently located. Beautiful and functional. Since it is very large, you need to arrive in advance to catch your flight.
A very cool airport, made for people. Everything is there, clean, there is a LoungeKey. Separately also for Turkish Airlines. Duty Free is large, as well as Lukse shops and cafes. Long flights can be experienced here, tested personally on yourself 😅
Yeah, it's an amazing airport. Incredibly convenient, courteous staff at every stage of control. .I use a walking stick...Some border guards even have a sense of humor..which pleasantly surprised me..I forgot my plastic residence permit card, it's good that the photo is on the memory card. We missed it without any questions...
A modern huge airport with convenient navigation. There are many toilets and they are clean. There are many cafes for every taste. There are many duty free shops. Travelators for more convenient and fast movement
The airport is very large, beautiful and convenient in terms of logistics. Good clean toilets, despite the huge passenger traffic. The price tag for the hotel is very high, very high. Thank you for having the opportunity to fly from here to anywhere in the world.
very big and beautiful in any case, everything is really cheaper than in our stores
there is free Wi-Fi, to connect you need to find a distribution station, scan your passport and get a code to connect, the first half hour is free
The territory of the airport is simply huge. A very large and modern airport. Everything is conveniently located. There are many restaurants, cafes and shops. There are plenty of places to wait for flights.
The new airport is very cool!
A separate sector for the registration of business class TurkishAirlalines immediately through it you go straight to passport control, it is very convenient
The airport itself is very large, there are many shops and cafes
The business hall is huge , there is a large selection of everything
There are even small rooms where you can sleep and take a shower
In short, the level!!!
The largest and most prestigious airport I've ever seen. There are a lot of escalators in the direction of the subway to get there faster and easier. There are places where you can sit and charge gadgets for free. The size of the airport is unrealistic, I walked to my platform at a brisk pace for 30 minutes, and then I was relatively not far away. If you are with children or elderly people, leave a reserve of time or rent an electric transport that is there.
SIM cards at the airport are very expensive $ 50-100. You can rent from the metro for $ 25-35 with a large package of minutes and gigabytes.
The airport impresses with its size, thoughtfulness, cleanliness, and a lot of signs in different languages. There are several verandas for smokers in both the check-in and departure areas. A good, modern airport.
Here is a real and objective review for you.
Erdogan's words were very loud that this would be the busiest airport in the world and one of the largest. I don't see any congestion there compared to Dubai.
In fact, it has very high ceilings, which gives space, there are areas with sun beds both in the registration hall and behind the duty free zone. There are many smoking terraces for smokers. That's all the advantages.
I have been flying through it constantly since the opening, only this year already 8 times.
I'll start with the Internet, because you have arrived or are leaving and this is the first thing you look for at the airport. It's a disgrace here! Even in underdeveloped countries, it is unlimited at airports. You will also have an hour to register using your phone number and an hour with your passport. That's it! Then pay! Shame on THE GREAT TURKEY! If there is a transfer and you have to wait from 3 hours, keep in mind.
If you fly there with the local Turkish Airlines, you are lucky. You can log in through their network by flight number and boarding place. It works smoothly.
Further on nutrition. It is always expensive at airports. But not $50 for a minishaurma with chicken, a small portion of French fries and a jar of soda. $50 - CARL!!! And so it is in everything else. Sandwiches, pastas, etc.
Next, the prices for their Turkish sweetness - baklava. At least 20 € for half a kilo of the simplest and it is not known when baked. When on the streets of Istanbul, the same one costs $ 6 per 1kg for the freshest!!! So are the rest of the Turkish desserts at a cost somewhere in the clouds.
Otherwise, Duty free at prices like everywhere else in the world.
The bathrooms are already shuffled, often untidy with obscene scents. There is often garbage lying around at the check-in counters, scraps of packaging film, stickers stuck to the tiles.
Further on, currency exchange.
In airport exchangers, the exchange rate is underestimated as everywhere else. For today, 30 liras =1€, when the exchange rate is 37 liras =1€. OK, we get the luggage and go out to the arrival hall. There are stalls of local banks. In them, each course draws itself from 34 to 37, this is understandable. I choose a bank where 37, I change it, and then I'm UNEXPECTED. You have a 4% commission, because the course is 35. What the...??? For what 4%?!
Okay. I go to the ATM, there are a lot of them, and withdraw cash from an international card. You have an 8% commission!!! If you withdraw 500€, then give 40 to the bank! I've never seen such a rip-off anywhere!
Well, for a snack, here it is the arrival hall on the 1st floor. I call a taxi, and the taxi arrives only at the entrance to the departure hall, and it is on the 2nd floor. Now I'll explain why to the entrance. There are only 7 of them there. And through the UBER app, you can select only the 6th and 7th entrances. I chose the 6th. Here I am trudging from ATMs from the 1st floor to the 2nd, walking through the entire airport to the 6th entrance. I'm trying to get out through it, but the exit doors are closed. The taxi is already waiting, I'm moving to the 7th entrance. Some doors are closed, I'm going around the security area, it's finally open! Only the taxi driver had already left, indicating that I was not there. Therefore, I am voluntarily and forcibly fined, the benefit is 20 rubles.
Here are the adventures to get on the taxi boarding.
The airport does not deserve more than 2 points!
Great airport! Please be the best I've ever seen. I flew from there to JFK in New York, won Istanbul by a wide margin. If your English is bad, ask the staff at the information desks to turn on an online translator, select a language and communicate. Look for WiFi counters in the halls, connect, an hour is free, if you need to pay extra for longer
The airport seemed to me to be a huge, such a huge center. A lot of things are on display, but there is no holistic, common thing that unites everything together. I imagined this airport differently when I read that there are baths, hairdressers, and hotels. When I had a long flight and another flight was still ahead, I was very glad to find a hotel located on the 2nd floor, where international flights, to take a shower, lie on the bed, relax and fly on with renewed vigor. All this cost 140 euros. You can have breakfast at their place. I am sure that many people like the airport in Istanbul, but the new Sheremetyevo airport seemed to me much more cozy, more thoughtful, where there are many different restaurants and cafes, and you can choose for every taste where to eat and relax and just sit in the bar.
I will write for a long time.
I recommend the hotel. There is a possibility of $ 220 for two people per day, breakfast, WiFi is included in the price.
There are no separate showers at the airport, which is very sad. After a 30-hour bus ride, I really wanted to take a shower, because after 3 hours on a plane to people.
I was the one who wiped myself with a wet towel in the toilet and put on clean clothes!!! Sorry.
But there is a room for animals with all amenities!!!
Wifi for two hours 6.5 euros, for a day 9 euros.
Luggage storage-from 10 euros
Absolutely!!! Register online and print out a beautiful colored form!!!
When transferring Moscow-Istanbul-Kishenev, we were,, shaved,, for a round sum from 40 to 240 euros!!!
-We do not see you
On the way back, I started shouting that I had no money, they missed me. But there were two queues. Who is registered and who is not, I did not see what happened next.
Hand luggage is very small, they send you to pay for your luggage. And this is at any airport. Don't take any chances!!!
I haven't flown in 4 years.
Otherwise, it is acceptable. Although the prices in the cafe bite. Tea plus a bun-1000 rubles . This is for clarity. To eat-65 euros for two. Soup, second course and drink. Cleanly, people are very friendly, mostly young people know Russian well. You can also sleep on the waiting benches, you will not be turned away. There are places to charge mobile phones.
Thank you, Istanbul!!!
A huge and beautiful airport, a city within a city) navigation is good and clear. One piece of advice to come to registration earlier) and so everything is cool, cleanly beautiful)
An incredible place! Despite the huge size and impressive number of passengers, the airport is working well. I am glad to have the opportunity to use free Wi-Fi. The range of Duty-free shops is also good.
A large comfortable airport with many shops and cafes. It is very convenient for flights with a transit connection. You can always find a sofa to relax and wait for your flight.
I was in Istanbul from September 7-14, 2024. The airport is new, clean, and beautiful. Big. A lot of shops. My comments:
- the queue is at customs control.(but this is a claim against all airports. Still, you can open all the racks so that people don't crowd).
- from terminal A to terminal F in a very fast step of 25 min. Therefore, it is better to arrive in advance.
It is a wonderful airport, especially considering that for us, Russians, it is actually a second home - connecting flights to other countries. The building is futuristic, the squares are huge - you can walk around waiting for a flight. The business lounge is very modest for such an airport, to say the least, I do not recommend it. We smiled at the prices of services regulated by the state (I'm not talking about dutik): you can get there by metro from the city, the ticket price is as a standard trip (17 liras, <50 rubles), luggage packing (there are many racks) is about 30 liras in the vending machine, leave luggage in the luggage room 50-100 liras per place, depending on the size. Sim cards, if only for the Internet, it is better not to buy at the airport, but to buy eSIM on websites.
The airport is new and modern, the organization of staff is a nightmare.
+ modern bathrooms
+ children's areas
+ many power options
+ there are various shops and boutiques
+ there is English dubbing everywhere
+ the speaker is clear and understandable by ear
+ there are areas for charging (like coworking, there is a socket and a USB port for wires)
+ there are special rooms for Muslims so that they can pray (probably mosques, I don't understand) are divided into male and female
+ you can book a mini-car in advance and they will take you to your gate
+ clear navigation on the signs
+ there is not a cheap, but a good hotel inside the airport border and already on the territory of Turkey, but at the airport (name Yotel)
- employees don't understand English well, they drive you back and forth and can't help you navigate what is where
- when it was necessary to do a smear on the covid at the airport, they barely found this place
- there are gates closed and there at the entrance, as at the passport office, they are interrogated, and then your hand luggage is stolen
An excellent modern airport, aspires to become the largest in the world. Everything is clean and beautiful, the navigation is in order. Food prices are high) as in most airports in major cities)
I put a lot of stars because I think that everything is here and everything is very compact on the other hand, although, of course, the airport is large.
Minus for the Internet. You need to get a ticket for an hour of wifi use, this is not convenient if you have a long wait or transfer.
A cool modern airport! Here you can definitely say - everything is for people! The toilets are clean and smell nice. There are many relaxation areas (even lying down) with working (!!) sockets
The airport is huge. Impressed! I was there for the first time. Everything is thought out. Very beautiful! There are a lot of shops, the staff is friendly. The language barrier is not felt. The toilets are clean.
The airport is cool. Beautiful. I liked everything, there is free Wi-Fi (you only need to register, it will take 2 minutes) for an hour! There is a place to eat, but most of it is there when you enter the airport and go through security, prices are in euros (it is not clear why not in dollars) but if you go almost to the exits, there are delicious cafes with prices in lira. There are smoking rooms. In general, an excellent airport.
A very large, modern airport. There are many shops, including clothes. A decent choice in Duty free. There are cafes, Macdonalds, etc. The most expensive tea in Turkey is probably here - 2.5 euros per cup.
A huge airport in Istanbul with a bunch of scurrying people and not small prices for everything. Here at the kiosk I saw a half-liter bottle of water for 6.5 euros, I was shocked. In other cafes, water is cheaper, of course, but coffee and desserts are expensive everywhere. Know that everywhere there are taps with drinking water, and not only with cold, but you can also find hot water, so you definitely need to come here with your reusable bottle so as not to waste too much. Everywhere in shops and cafes they take cards for payment, not ours, but from other countries. The Internet (Wi-Fi) can be connected using a passport and only for a limited time, and this is very inconvenient. In general, the airport is average, it leaves different impressions, both good and not so good.
Istanbul Airport, which is new, aka IST.
Even asking in English will show you to go the wrong way!Employees are strange, they wave in different directions, they don't care.
The airport is big and beautiful, no doubt.
The flight information board in the common room is only at the entrance. It's useless to look around the hall. We go to the entrance, as if we had just entered and were looking there.
Everything is already better in the departure area. The distances are long, go ahead. We were running😂
When you arrive at IST and want to travel to Istanbul by public transport, the staff will fix all sorts of obstacles for you: they will tell you the wrong bus numbers, talk at the wrong time, and in general, like, a break of 3 hours. Although there is a bus every half hour.(We learned this already on the way back.) They will try to send you by taxi or private transport for 40-50 euros.
You can take the subway from the airport. The exit from the a.p is indicated, we go through the internal parking lots, go down to the subway, there are vending machines, buy travel cards. But! I downloaded the metro map and looked at the route to Sultanahmet. And we rode the subway for 2.5 hours. Rough.
So the high-speed bus takes 40 minutes and that's it. Payment in cash in lira in it! Or with a foreign card.
The food at the airport is good, as in a rather expensive restaurant in St. Petersburg. But not enough. 😂 Prices rose strongly on June 24 . Like in Dubai, even more expensive at times.
The purity of the airport is undeniable.
Wi-Fi registration with a passport is paid, 60 euros. That's why I was on my native Beeline.
You can take water with you, but you can't go to the departure area, but sometimes you can!😂 It depends on their mood, apparently, and on the identity of the person inspecting.
Overall, the impression is good, if not for the human factor: few employees know English, almost no one drives anywhere. I was running with my girlfriend and cursing.🙄
A new bright, spacious, modern, convenient airport, electric cars that even move people with disabilities, travelators, chargers, a good dutik, prices are also normal. I liked it!
A new modern airport. Of course, it is very large, which is both a plus and a minus. But in any case, the airport is gorgeous with a large selection of shops, duty free and other options necessary for a person
A modern airport. Convenient, comfortable. There are many places to relax. A huge duty-free with many brands.
A large food court with a variety of cuisines.
This is not an airport, but an entire city! New, clean, with a well-thought-out infrastructure, with, in general, clear navigation (and this is important in this case, since the staff does not speak English well). There are a lot of food courts and cafes, the food is good, the prices are, of course, high, but it's everywhere at airports, you can pay in local currency and in freely convertible, but in this case they can cheat. Dutifrey: the range is good and the prices are lower than in Sheremetyevo. Registration and security are operational. I didn 't notice the customs at all . Passport control is slower. There are prayer rooms and smoking rooms. You can order an electric car and it will take you to the boarding point. There are children's playrooms and a bunch of exchange offices. There is a hotel on the territory of the airport. In general, I liked the airport. It is very clean and cleaned all the time. I recommend.
A nice, modern and very large airport. Inside you can find everything you need from shopping to restaurants and cafes. There are places to relax and charge gadgets
A big beautiful airport! Easy navigation, quickly got your bearings, found everything, you can take the subway or bus. The ticket office is nearby. Kiosks with free WI-FI. . Free luggage carts.
A huge transshipment point. A lot of people, a diverse dialect. A huge number of shops. There are significantly fewer places where people could sit down. Often, passengers spend many hours waiting for their flight. In places, people are lying right on the floor. A lot of toilets, in general -3 points for cleanliness, while in the toilets of terminal "C" there was a cleaner in the toilet at all times, cleanliness by 5 points. There is always a toilet for the disabled. Threshold-free space. A sufficient number of catering outlets with space prices: a bottle of water 0.5 liters of water -600₽. There are devices with a water fountain, touch activation (if you come close, it turns on). If there is a container, you can fill it - for free. Nearby, the device with hot water could not be found out whether it was working or not, the container with cups turned out to be empty. Auto rickshaws take passengers to their departure waiting area. It is very stuffy in the customs inspection area. Everyone is sweating. During screening from connecting flights, passengers are allowed to bring bottles of water into the waiting area. It is comfortable in the halls. Information records in various languages of the world, of course with "mandatory" Arabic and Chinese. In Russian, no. In general, the airport staff tries to help you, some using a mixture of English and Russian words. Russian Russian. At the same time, I came across one young employee, with whom I started communicating with a greeting in Russian, showing my boarding pass, he replied in English that he did not know English, while pronouncing this phrase well, having a Slavic appearance and an accent very similar to Russian. It's kind of weird. There are many devices at the airport that distribute free Wi-Fi. But, once a day and for one hour. To get free Internet, you need to scan the passport strip, select 1 hour of free Internet, press "print", printing the number that you need to enter on the phone when connecting and enter the passport number on the phone - that's it. If you want more Internet, you need to enter your personal data and your card details for payment. There are devices for free charging of electronic devices in the recreation areas. All movements between floors via escalators, to distant terminals via travelators, the transition between the aircraft and the airport building via a telescopic ladder. At the same time, when boarding the flight to Moscow, the escalator was turned off and it was necessary to go down the stairs, 5 flights, feet up to 15 cm high, there is a railing. The impression of the airport was ruined.
The airport is very spacious and convenient.
For passengers with children (0-5 years old) and those 65+, I recommend going through personal belongings and passport control in the Family zone, you will save a lot of time and nerves, you will pass without queuing and haste.
On floor -2 there are bus stops that run around the clock in different directions, it is very convenient to get to Sabiha Gokcen airport, the last time the cost was 215 Turkish lira.
A huge, new airport, the prices are of course space, well, this is not surprising. The navigation is excellent, you won't get lost, everything is clear and accessible. Convenient, the queue passes quickly, there is no need to fill out any documents (declarations). I lost my watch during the inspection, searched for a very long time, approached the staff more than once, but alas, they refused to help. I turned to other employees an hour later, they promptly took it out and gave it away.
The airport is of immense size.
What would you understand, we landed and taxied on the plane to the sleeve for another 20-25 minutes, laughed that we were given a bus tour of the airport. But that was not the case)) then we walked for another 15-20 minutes to the passport control))
By the way, there are 2 passport controls there, one a little less, the second more. Despite the queue and the feeling that you will lose a lot of time, we stood for only 10 minutes, very quickly. The luggage was already spinning on the tape. There is free Wi-Fi. The store is at the exit, just like everywhere else.
We also took off from this airport. Everything went pretty quickly, at the entrance, as in Russian airports, there is an armed guard, then registration, passport, inspection (or passport inspection)
And then you need to walk to your gate, since the airport is large, then they write right on the sign how far you go, it was written from 15-18 minutes to ours. A very big dutik, of course we did not bypass it all, but I think +- everything is standard. There are both lux and Waikiki.
It's a great airport. There are playgrounds (I especially liked the space one at exits A). A lot of high-quality duty free. Good restaurants. Business halls of a good level
A beautiful, huge airport. Everything is there, a large duty free zone just with huge boutiques. It is advisable to arrive in advance, because there is always a large flow of people and long distances between check-in, check-out and departure points.
