We stayed at this hotel from September 14 to September 26, 2024 during the so-called hurricane season. The weather was amazing, the ocean was like milk, it was hot and sunny, the beach was magnificent, clean, there was something to do besides sunbathing.
The service in the hotel was excellent, cleaning every day, the food was excellent, even pampered with ham and cheese with mold, the menu was very diverse, there were many dishes of local cuisine, we were never hungry, even vice versa) For lunch and dinner daily, fresh fish and meat from the cook in the open kitchen 👍🏻
Everything is very, very friendly and fun! Non-intrusive cool animation and activities on site. Thank you!
A mid-level hotel for Cuba, it has all the amenities for a comfortable stay. Before visiting a five-star hotel in Havana, I would have given this hotel a C, but compared to the hotel in Havana, this one turned out to be much nicer and more comfortable.
Fish and grilled meat are cooked deliciously twice a day, the side dishes are normal pasta (cooked with you), delicious cheeses, there was always bread. There wasn't much choice for breakfast, we always took eggs, which are also cooked with you. I saw cockroaches in the dining room a couple of times, but thank God they didn't crawl on the food. There were few fruits, only pineapples were delicious. Also delicious ice cream.
The big disadvantage of the dining room was the lack of glasses or mugs, and sometimes even appliances, so you had to wait or run after the staff to get everything brought to you. One man from the staff in the dining room was rude, did not allow us to sit at the table that we chose (although the seating was free and there were very few people at that time), and also did not come up to offer drinks during the entire stay (although other staff always came up and offered). Once they left the cap in the dining room, returned for it, and the same man asked for $ 1 for its return, which of course is illegal and very brazen.
Very beautiful and pleasant sea and beach, no wildlife swam during the entire vacation, which is undoubtedly a plus. They offer a free catamaran and sail ride on the beach for 30 minutes, but we didn't get it, because there was a yellow flag (wind and waves) almost all the time, and it's probably dangerous to swim in this weather.
They don't know how to make cocktails at all. After going to Havana and visiting Floridita, I couldn't drink cocktails properly at the hotel anymore. Also, be careful with all drinks where there is ice. There is a suspicion that we were poisoned by ice (we suffered for 5 days), which is put a lot in almost all drinks at the hotel. For a good wine, you can go to a la carte Cuban restaurant, but the food was better in the dining room for me.
The territory of the hotel is very pretty and green, as we wrote in previous reviews. There is a gym on site, I went there several times. Jugs of water and mint are stable in the gym. It's a shame that the sauna at the gym wasn't working. There is a feeling that it is constantly closed.
Events are held every evening, most often a cabaret show in the room next to the dining room. I would like to see more outdoor activities, perhaps somewhere near the pool. Once in two weeks (or maybe more often) we had a foam party with dancing by the pool in the middle of the day, it was fun.
The rooms are quite spacious, we lived in the main building. The only dirty thing was the refrigerator. Other visitors say it's better to live in a bungalow, but we were fine in our room. Cockroaches were not seen in the room, it is better to close the balcony in the evening, as large mosquitoes can fly in.
The staff is generally pleasant and friendly, they helped us several times. The overall impression of the hotel remained positive.
