One of the best hotels in Kyoto. The nicest place, spacious rooms (even the standard where I lived) in a traditional style. A huge bathroom with a "branded" Japanese toilet (separate entertainment ;) The temperature in the room is well regulated, the windows open onto a lovely garden, behind which one of the oldest Zen Buddhist temples, a bell rings early in the morning. Breakfast in the huge restaurant is wonderful, you can order eggs in any form or "be Japanese" and order a tray with fish, miso-tofu and their other breakfast snacks. It is a 20-minute walk to the center, however, there is no center as such in Kyoto, you can walk everywhere, even at night it is absolutely safe.
