The rating of the hotel on the websites is off the scale. There are plenty of laudatory reviews there. Mine will be different from them, because I will truthfully write about the many disadvantages of this hotel, as well as the main reason why I do not advise going there in August - September.
The first drawback, which may seem like a "quibble" to someone. The name of the hotel has the word "Club". I can say with confidence that in none of the club hotels known to me, it would never occur to anyone to send the guests who are checking in to the room "self-propelled", without an escort. Especially for guests with a small (4 years old) child. I also had not seen before that it was normal to go to dinner in flip-flops and shorts in club hotels. Some guests, just like us, "bought" the word "Club". Immediately upon arrival, they tried to comply with the dress code of the club hotel, but, realizing in what a minority they were, just like us, they refused further attempts to "dress up".
Our vacation started on August 28, 2019. For a long time of self-booking hotels, this is the first time I have encountered the condition of full payment 2 months before arrival, and even with draconian money-back conditions in case of refusal. Moreover, it is not clear how, with such an early booking and advance payment, we got a room on the sixth floor, and even at the very end of the corridor, at the maximum distance from the main elevator. The room was similar, but did not match the photo presented at the Booking. The size was clearly less than the 25 square meters declared there. They did not swear because of this and spoil their rest. I cannot say for 100%, but there is a suspicion that the rooms located much closer to the main elevator are not available to Russian tourists.
"We speak Russian" - we read in the advertisement of this hotel. They say they are on it mainly because most of the staff, especially in restaurants, are Ukrainians. However, there are still Russian-speaking managers at the reception, but only during the day shift. You will not find any inscriptions in Russian in this hotel. The animation is mostly in German, and English, but there is no trace of Russian. I have no complaints about hotels where there is no mention in the advertisement that we speak Russian. I speak English tolerably well, but since you announced Russian, then please match it! Moreover, the Germans and I pay the same money. Talking about the proximity of the Bulgarian and Russian languages is absolutely not a valid argument. You won't understand anything in Bulgarian right away.
The hotel is located on a decent territory, but there is very little greenery and absolutely nowhere to walk in the evening, there is no "promenade". Some paths made of decking laid directly on the sand to reach the beach. There are no big complaints about the technical equipment of the hotel, but, for example, several times we did not even have cold water in our room. Of the four elevators that could take us to the 6th floor, only 1 worked for two days (!!!). The pool table above the lobby bar is in an absolutely "killed" state. There are broken exercise machines in the fitness room. The work schedule of the towel collection and delivery station is very inconvenient. Things are not going smoothly at the SPA either. Sauna, steam room, Turkish bath, relaxation room, it seems to be there and working, but there is another problem - managers. We signed up for a PAID (!) massage. "Wait" - they say – "At 16:30 they will make it for you. You can go to the sauna in the meantime." I went. I came to the time, but the masseur does not know that he has my massage. Yes, nothing will work out for him in time, because another massage is scheduled in the schedule. I ask the one who wrote it down, and he says, "So you did," he says, "You refused the massage, and went to the sauna."
Now about the main problem, because of which you do not need to go there in August and September. This is stormy weather. Of course, there are no warnings about her in the advertisement and very little is written in the reviews, but the locals just shrug their shoulders: - "It's not the same here since mid-August and in September." Of the 15 days of our stay at the hotel, we only had the opportunity to swim in the sea for 3 days. On the rest of the days, a forbidding red flag was flying over the beach. Moreover, entering the sea with a four-year-old child was dangerous for two more days out of those three, in principle possible for swimming. And only once (this is for half a month !!!) I was able to swim with my child in the sea on our beach without much fear. I will say, to put aside doubts, that I swim as I breathe, the water is a friendly environment for me. They began to look for a place where the sea is calmer. They didn't find it nearby. I had to go almost fifty kilometers to St. Vlas for this. It is much better there, but an hour-long "walk" by car there, and then the same back, along not ideal Bulgarian, and besides, mountain roads, we did not like and we did not go there anymore. It would seem that in this situation the only salvation is, and the pools, especially in the hotel, are enough, and they are very good in terms of configuration, ease of entry into the water and cleanliness. That's just not okay here either. Absolutely all outdoor pools, including shallow, children's pools, are very cold during this period of the year. The pools are not heated, and the nights are already quite cool: 17-19 degrees. The water in the pools during the day, and even more so in the morning, does not have time to warm up. I did not measure it with a thermometer, but it feels like by 11 a.m. the water temperature is 20-22 degrees no more. At the very end of our vacation, the only indoor swimming pool started working.
Well, still, about the good things. This is, first of all, what is related to food and drinks. This is especially noticeable in the main restaurant. Excellent, varied food. Themed culinary holidays. Tastings. Friendly and very well organized service. A broken plate should not lie on the floor for more than 30 to 40 seconds. The employee in charge quickly appears and puts things in order. The lobby bar works great. Good drinks according to the All Inclusive system. Other bars are not bad either. A wonderful snack bar where you can always refresh yourself. Bagels, popcorn and ice cream are on the trays almost all day. A cupboard for distributing water, iced tea and ayran by the beach. Daily replenishment of mini bars in the rooms with water, beer and juice. Room cleaning is good enough. Polite staff. Well, evening concerts can also be attributed to the advantages. Diverse. Classic. Jazz. Pop and rock. Live sound.
