The hotel is 20 minutes from the ocean. But I went for turtle beach. It's two-storied, cozy, and not big. There is a nice pool in the center, there is a deep and shallow place. There are sun beds nearby.
There is a dining room where breakfast is served. I didn't take the breakfasts, but you can safely buy about 300 rubles (I was in February). There is also a kitchen where they can warm up and cook for you. The staff is nice and helpful.
The room is normal, there is a refrigerator and air conditioning. Toilet paper and soap, towels. In general, gel and shampoo can be bought in the supermarket, there are small bottles and inexpensive. It was quiet. There were no mosquitoes.
It is better to choose a hotel with a swimming pool, as there are waves.
It is better to go to the beach or drive further for cherapakhi. It's better to watch turtles in the morning, then there are more people after lunch. If you are unassuming, the hotel is suitable.

Recommendations:

Currency exchange in the direction of turtle beach, the best was 29600, and everywhere 29000 for 100 dollars. Jewelers and souvenir shops are changing, they have it written in Russian.
Go to turtle beach, about 15 minutes to the left, you can't walk along the beach, you have to go on the way. They sell algae there for 300-500 rupees, which the turtles love, the turtles spend almost the whole day, but they come more at lunch. Feeding the turtles is unforgettable.
There are monkeys and parrots behind the hotel.
There is a colony of flying foxes and large monitor lizards on the neighboring klitsa, go and see, the locals live there, it's also interesting to see. Take candy to the children.
Go to Halle without a tour, by train, 2nd class, find out tickets and timetable at the ticket office, there is a station nearby, 10 minutes. Trains run regularly, they consult in Russian at the ticket office, 100 rupees, everything is clear.
The train travels fast, 20-30 minutes. There is a large fort on Galle, a beautiful old town built in the colonial style, there are many souvenirs and restaurants, in general, a free full-day tour.
We ate a lot of places, but after we ate at Red Lobster, in the direction of turtle beach, I don't want to go anywhere else, it's inexpensive and very tasty. Good service, large portions.
Sun beds on the beach are free, just order a drink at this cafe.
There is a fruit market nearby, pineapples can be cut, prices are normal.
And the fish market, they can also cook there, it turns out to be unusual and profitable. One fish of about 1,500 rupees comes out with cooking already. You can eat there or take it with you.
The hotel is well located, close to shops, cafes, market, beach. There's a lagoon here, and the waves are smaller.
The rooms are different, we are tired, there is a conder, a fan, a kettle, no TV.
The mixer is shaking, sometimes a cockroach will come in from the street.
But on the other hand, there are wonderful people, breakfasts and a clean pool.

And also, if a guy comes up to you on the beach and offers an excursion to the city of Galle on tuktuk, agree, the trip will be intense, it's better than by bus, he can stop anywhere you want for a photo. We liked the hotel. In Sri Lanka for the second time, the first time we had a vacation in Unawatuna. We checked in immediately, as we arrived after 14.00.So far, we have given away our passports, a voucher, and a welcome package with approx. When we checked in, we counted on a refrigerator, it wasn't there, we asked at the reception, they said tomorrow, OK, we walked around the hotel, the guys from the room opposite left early in the morning, they had a refrigerator, at our request their refrigerator was moved to our room. In the room: a bed, we had a double bed, a bedside table, a wardrobe, a sofa, 2 armchairs, a refrigerator (which we constantly defrosted thoroughly). We took the fumigator from Russia, there is a kettle in the room, 2 cups, 2 glasses, no hair dryer, we took soap dishes with us, there is no hotel. CLEANING ON REQUEST!!!!!! The trash can is outside the door, on the balcony, and the workers are cleaning it up in the morning.
The breakfasts are ordinary, monotonous, with a choice of fried eggs or omelets, sausages, fruit (a little), juice (not fresh), coffee or tea. We had enough. The hotel has its own kitchen, we bought shrimps at the market, they cooked for us for 700 rupees, in just a few minutes, we didn't even have time to take a shower. The staff is friendly and helpful. At the reception, the guy understands Russian and speaks a little. You can also buy drinking water at the reception.
The pool is really clean and works around the clock.
It's a 4-5-minute walk to the beach if you're walking to the turtles..then a little longer, to the left of the hotel
Where to eat? We ate in different places, mostly on the main street, on the beach (we got poisoned). How to go to the beach, on the left side there is a cafe, the menu and the hosts are great, we go down closer to the beach, on the right side there is an inconspicuous guesthouse + cafe, the owners

You have to go to the beach via the railway road, but it's not like ours, it's not critical.
When going to the beach, there is an alcohol market immediately, to the right there is a bus station, a little further there is a fish and fruit market, and a local supermarket. The location is good for us, that's why we chose the Tai Lanka hotel, you wake up in the jungle, with monkeys, monitor lizards, flying foxes.
Rooms yes, not Turkey.... But this is also a 2* hotel, towels and a hairdryer, shampoo, etc. with you.
We took sausage, cheese, and coffee with us from Russia for a snack.

The hotel is good, but you have to understand that it is really without frills, a repairman would be nice to refresh. But it's authentic)) Sooo good staff, the guys are all sincere and constant, ready to help in any situation. The guys speak English, if you don't speak it, an interpreter will help, there is a Wi-Fi on site. The breakfasts are delicious, classic for SHL. The very atmosphere in the hotel is peaceful, there are few people. There seemed to be 20 rooms in total. There were no loud parties or noisy children, and the pool was mostly free. The guests are mostly Russian, friendly, and you can ask for advice or share your experience yourself.
As mentioned in other reviews:
-down the street and to the right there is a fruit and fish market, it takes 5-7 minutes to walk;
-down the street and to the left is turtle beach;
-if you go down to the main street, be sure to go to the first Fine Dine cafe, it's delicious! The owners are also very warm-hearted people, the prices are low. They can also cook your seafood from the market there. Moreover, they are prepared not just for fun - with garlic, lime, they give ketchup as a gift.
-If you go even further behind turtle beach, you will come across a reef, we saw small sharks there! But be careful, you shouldn't walk too much there - firstly, there are live shells on the reef, and secondly, we saw a moray eel there!
-There is indeed a colony of flying foxes on the next street, which is adjacent to the river on the map, but they are on the other side. They also saw a large black monitor lizard.
-Take an excursion to Ella, and in Halle you can go by tuktuk yourself, ask the tuktukers about the excursions (they take you back and forth and wait while you walk)
- Beyond the bus station (to the right on Galle Road) there is a market for locals in the alley. Great prices there!
-On Galle Road to the left (on the way to turtle beach) there are several shops with tea and spices, also great prices and very tasty tea

The hotel is nice, helpful staff, the rooms are clean, some of them smell damp, and we had no problems changing them. Good breakfasts, clean pool. There are tables in each room, you can have a good time outside, play cards, have dinner, etc. We've already seen parrots, flying foxes, and monitor lizards behind the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for the new year 2025. If you are not bothered by old furniture and plumbing, mold and lack of hot water (more precisely in the evening), then you can live in this hotel. The territory is green, cleaned, there is a swimming pool. You can buy breakfast (1000 rupees is about 300 rubles). But the ocean and nature overshadow all the nuances of everyday life. But they wouldn't come to this hotel a second time.

We were in November 2023. Very convenient location. There is a fish market nearby where you can buy seafood and cook it there. The market is the only one in Hikkaduwa, everyone came, and we had to walk a little bit. And there is also one beach where you can swim. There are waves or corals on the rest of the beach line. The hotel itself is very clean. We took a tour without breakfast, but in the kitchen you can come up with your own products, ask for boiled eggs or fried. At the reception you can take a kettle, an adapter for an outlet. Cleaning and change of towels on request. The staff tries to make the guests feel comfortable, very friendly. I liked everything!

A chic hotel both in location and in fact. Chic is not Dubai's 5 stars. This is a room without a TV, without a phone, but with air conditioning, a kettle and absolutely all solid wood furniture, and doors and windows too. Silence, calmness interrupt everything. We had 2 geckos in our room, which ran up mosquitoes and ants. The sea is about 500 meters away. There are 2 good home cafes along the way: White Lotus and dine fine. The pool is cleaned constantly and very carefully. Room cleaning on request. Breakfasts can be bought right on the spot, the cost for February 2024 is 1000 rupees: an omelet, several boutiques, 2 freshly squeezed juices, fruits and coffee from a teapot as much as you want. The staff can be applied instead of medicine, everyone smiles and tries to help. It's a pity you can only put 5 stars. I would like more. You start from the fact that Sri Lanka is a big camp. There is basically no concept of luxury here. There is a fact of unity with gorgeous nature and tranquility.

We stayed in December 2024. The room was quite good, on the 2nd floor. The furniture is old, but the bed is comfortable. Cleaning, change of bed linen on request. Refrigerator, air conditioning, fan in the room. There is a swimming pool on site, everything is clean. We didn't take breakfast because we left earlier. Such honest Asian 2 stars. The location is slightly away from the noisy central streets, 8 minutes to the beach. The rooms are simple, but there is everything you need. The breakfasts are monotonous, you can choose only the main course (fried eggs or omelette), the rest is always the same: a couple of sausages, toast, butter, jam, fruit, juice and coffee. Nice, clean pool with children's area. Flying foxes can be seen near the hotel in the evenings. The guests are usually from the CIS, but there are also foreigners. The staff is friendly, but does everything only after request. Cleaning and linen change is not on schedule, but on request.

The main advantage is that the staff is always ready to help and respond to any request, but due to the budget of the hotel there are some nuances. I'll try to describe everything
1. When checking in, there was not clean bed linen and only one sheet for two. We asked for a change and everything was changed for us.
2. Towels do not absorb moisture well, it is better to take them with you from home
3. Convenient location. Near Hikkaduwa beach, fruit and fish market (you can buy seafood and ask them to cook), 5 minutes from PCB Cafe (for me the most delicious food in Hikkaduwa)
4. A comfortable veranda at each room with a table and chairs. It is better to eat fruits on it so that the ants do not end up in your room
5. The pool is clean , but the sun beds are no longer in very good condition
6. Bad wi-fi Internet, it will work for the phone, but the computer does not load at all
7. To clean the room, they need to bring the room keys
8. The air conditioning is very weak, but there is also a ceiling fan. They turned them on at the same time to cool the room somehow
9. Only one bottle of water at check-in, then you can buy it at a discount
10. We had bad mirrors, moreover, located in poorly lit places. If you need it, it is also better to take it with you
11. The sockets are different from ours and unfortunately our adapter did not fit either. But it turned out to defeat the razette with a pencil (instructions can be found on the Internet)

The pool is clean, breakfasts are like everywhere else in Asia scrambled eggs / omelet, coffee, dough bread, butter, jam and portioned fruits. You will not stay hungry!
Huge handsome monitor lizards walk next to the hotel, a family of huge monkeys lives on a tree next to the hotel, parrots fly - like in the jungle, it's very beautiful!
In general, if you treat everything with humor, then it's good))) Permonal is good-natured sooo, ready to get a star from the sky) linen is changed on request too
