The hotel is well located. Near the ski lift, shops, restaurants. The numbers are three, the Soviet era is felt. The furniture is battered and the same plumbing. The sound insulation is also weak, the neighbors can be heard well. But for me it doesn't matter much, the main thing is that the rooms are clean, the bed linen is too, the food is not very varied, without frills, but everything is edible. The hotel has a large lobby, a bar, a bowling alley and some entertainment for children.
Ski rental right at the hotel. There is a free ski storage, there are paid lockers.
The staff is friendly, many speak Russian. This is especially important when you take an instructor to a child.
In general, I recommend the hotel. I liked it.
P.S. We met 2020, we took it with an additional payment for a New Year's dinner. I liked the dinner, everything was plentiful and delicious. There was raki from alcohol, sparkling wine in limited quantities, but they were allowed to bring their own drinks to those who did not have enough. They entertained with national dances and other shows, and a DJ played.
Bulgarian ski resorts suffer from a small number of trails compared to resorts in Italy and Austria. But in terms of the convenience of getting to the place and the excellent cuisine, they are the undoubted leaders. The Samokov Hotel, relatively inexpensive, is very conveniently located in relation to the highways. There is no need to go anywhere by bus or walk far.
Does not match the stated 4 stars.
There is a swimming pool (nice, the water is warm), but there are no bathrobes in the room (as far as I know, a bathrobe and slippers are required for 4 stars). If you plan to use the pool and the paid Spa, take your bathrobes for convenience.
The room was not cleaned, only the garbage was taken out. It doesn't bother me, but then you just don't have to claim that it's 4 stars.
The room is warm and this is a plus. But it is advisable to do, sorry, ventilation in the toilet. All the smells fill the room. I had to open the balcony to ventilate the bathroom.
But the price of the room was discounted - we booked in advance, so for this money everything is passable.
But if you had a rest for the full cost, then it would be more unpleasant to endure all these disadvantages for your money.
And the wifi in the rooms themselves is very weak, more or less worked in the lobby, in the restaurant.
But, overall, it's not bad.
