The lovely hotel is located on a wide, spacious and beautiful beach. We had a rest with my husband on the recommendation of a colleague. I would like to note that we were very afraid to go to a 3* hotel in Cuba, but a colleague visited it more than 10 times and strongly recommended it for a vacation. Yes, I do not dispute that the hotel is very old and it is undergoing renovation, but this does not interfere with rest. The staff is great, the beach is awesome, the ocean is gorgeous. The food was excellent- shrimps, seafood, fresh fruit, ice cream, all this every day and was plentiful in February 2022. We were on an excursion with the guys from the 5* hotels, we talked about food and beaches, they were surprised that we had shrimps for lunch and dinner, fresh fruits.... This was not the case in their hotels. We were so fed shrimp that my husband didn't want to eat them for dinner anymore, and we went to our favorite restaurant, La Bodeguita Del Medio, and ate awesome lobsters with live music. The hotel also has a very convenient location, you can walk to the center and the main attractions on foot. We rented a bike near the hotel and rode around the neighborhood. Animators who need entertainment and shows are working all day, they will get them. There are a lot of tourists from Canada staying at the hotel. Drinks in different bars throughout the territory for every taste. If you are flying to Cuba for the sake of the ocean and the beach, then this hotel is for you, if you need "luxury" conditions, then this is not here. We were very satisfied with the hotel, we will definitely return to it and recommend it to everyone!

I love this hotel. You shouldn't expect any frills, but the territory, nature, a bungalow on the beach and kind staff pay for everything. Especially if you take small gifts and give them a tip.. All people and all feed their families. The food has become mediocre compared to previous years, but now the hotel is half empty. There are few Canadians and our Russians. High, all alone, all alone!

An excellent hotel for those who are an ordinary normal person and do not twist their nose at food, but not Turkey, but sorry, the room from the ocean 30-40 meters away does its job, and the price is very affordable. I took 30 thousand rubles as a savage for an all-inclusive person, what more could I want. Rum, cocktails at least, performances every day, located in the center, 10-15 minutes to the airport (Gualberto Gomez).
A solid five to the hotel, I liked everything.
For a dollar daily or 200 pesos, the whole room was fucked up))

I visited this hotel in 2020 , the hotel is simple , but the price is not great . The food is varied , the cleaning is carried out quite efficiently , the staff is sooo friendly , there was not a single unpleasant incident during the rest ! The territory of the hotel requires restoration in some places , but this does not affect the rest in any way! The beach is very close, you can say you had breakfast in the dining room and you have one foot on the ocean)

A wonderful hotel-club was built in the 1930s by Americans in the colonial style.That's why I chose this hotel))). For almost a century of the hotel's existence, of course, it was completed). Therefore, the villas and buildings, and, accordingly, the rooms in them, located on a huge territory, are very different). I lived in a small cozy room with a wonderful terrace) overlooking the pool, not far from the gym!!! I will note: I changed the room - the one in which I was initially accommodated did not suit me))).The hotel has a fairly large swimming pool. There are several bars - two of them are open around the clock, in the third you can drink delicious coffee and soft drinks until 17 o'clock. There is also a bar with drinks on the ocean shore. Every evening there is a show program) . There is a gym and a sauna, and a massage room is available for an additional fee. Kayaks and bicycles can be rented for free. free half-hour catamaran sailing trip). Souvenir shops.
And a magnificent beach with white sand and turquoise clear water, which can only be seen in the Caribbean of the Atlantic Ocean!
The buffet food in the restaurant is not bad. Street food is available between breakfast, lunch and dinner (and after dinner).
A great place at very affordable prices!

Please don't come here and that's why:
1) after check—in, I return to the room - the door is open. The lock was broken. It could not be repaired, the room was changed.
2) in the second room, I couldn't close the door from the inside. I closed it. The lock is broken. Fixed it.
The safe in the room did not work, neither did the TV, the light with varying success
3) The food is terrible. Lost weight
4) WiFi is only available in the lobby, but it does not always work. The terminal does not always work either
5) less than 5 euros of paper is not accepted. They don't accept their wooden pessos. Dollars are not accepted. They don't give you change in coins. There is no change of 5 euros from 10 euros, let alone change from 50 or 100 euros! And the terminal works with varying success.
A rich country, what can I say!
6) I am Belarusian, and in order to return to the Russian Federation I had to take a test. I rented it at the hotel. They say come at 15 o'clock the next day. Come. There is no test. They say come at 17. I came. Everyone has a test, but I don't.
The full-time medic is like this: go to your room, you're not going anywhere tomorrow.
I mean, I'm not going anywhere? The ticket costs half of the ticket. And he speaks so calmly, as if it were going to have lunch. And I made it to 17 o'clock, when the whole Cube stops working and the express is difficult to do.
Raised everyone's ears! Travel agent, including at 3 a.m. local time. She called the insurance company and I was told to get the test result even through the embassy!
After 2 hours, they found or did my pcr test.
It turned out to be negative. If I hadn't started making noise, the insurance wouldn't have paid for it and I would have bought at my own expense!

Good afternoon, we rested at this hotel in January 2020.
What can we say? This is the worst hotel in our practice! The underground name is "Ditch".
If we hadn't moved into a room with an extra charge! (superior: sea view, wide balcony, air conditioning, comfortable bed with a normal mattress and a full set of non-leaky linen and, importantly, a clean bathroom), the rest would be spoiled.
1. Standard rooms. Not for demanding tourists from the word "Absolutely!": devastation and dirt, we ran without even taking a picture. So. Bed: a spring-loaded mattress with a "hole", covered with a thin transparent sheet, a pillow for babies and a synthetic bedspread. Is something missing? It's true. Blankets or at least sheets (individual, instead of a blanket, the standard for hot countries ...). By the way, there was a blanket in the room, but for some reason one for two and a leaky one!!! (LIKE A MOTH EATEN). Bathroom: dirty, towels don't really smell clean and initially not a complete set. Conditioner. Without a remote control, it was turned on by "automatic machines" on the wall (for the first time we saw this). There are no balconies. The room is far from a clean beach and from the dining room.
Superior room. We paid 20 thousand rubles extra for this room (10 nights). There are four detached houses close to the sea, to the beach, to the dining room. There are only two rooms in each house (1st and 2nd floor). The room is spacious, the air conditioning is modern (remote control, everything works), a bed (two of them) with a high-quality mattress, with a FULL set of linen, a comfortable pillow (and even the presence of two replaceable pillows), a tolerable non-leaky blanket (two), a clean bathroom, furniture is almost new, clean, not broken. The most important advantage of this room is a spacious balcony with a set of comfortable garden furniture and sea views. The balcony and rum (purchased!, but more on that later) "made" our vacation!
Of course, even in a more expensive room there are flaws: in the bathtub there is a hole burned by a cigar, a closet with a broken door, there were no batteries in the TV remote control, half the light did not work, and most importantly! The front door was locked from the inside with a homemade latch (the lock was broken), and from the outside only with a key and with difficulty. These "little things" did not bother us anymore, because there is a beach, delicious purchased rum, a balcony with a fascinating view and only a stupor of horror if we stayed in the Standard.
2. Nutrition. It's a pity you can't swear in open sources. You can eat, of course. There are vegetables, there are shrimps (but rarely), delicious fruits! Delicious ice cream. Almost complete absence of fish and meat. This is the yummy thing that the queue is waiting for. If you are not biased towards food and allow food processing, starting from breakfast (e.g., half-eaten eggs) to dinner (eggs in a salad), and in unimaginative prescription insinuations, then it is normal. In the end, we do not come here to eat, but to enjoy the sunsets, beaches, the sea, the sun in winter :)
Speaking generally about Cuba. Delicious food! - it's not here... COFFEE! Who said that Cuba is a country of coffee and it is delicious here? Before leaving, we heard from many friends — coffee, coffee, delicious, take it, bring it, etc. Nonsense! THERE is NO coffee in Cuba. Remember this. Coffee is sold in tourist shops and exclusively for tourists, apparently. On Varadero, we found only two shops that sell coffee. There is no food here at all. In terms of such a variety of food that we are used to. Cubans spin as much as they can to please tourists (although this is also controversial about the efforts of lazy Cubans).
Cafes are expensive! We had dinner in Havana twice. Each time they gave 60 Euros (=CUC) for two. The dinner included two beers, two 50 ml rum, two dishes of spaghetti with seafood (questionable) and two salads, small portions. In Europe, it is cheaper, tastier and more satisfying: for 30 Euros per person, we "rolled out" of a restaurant next to the Colosseum in Rome with a sense of gastronomic satisfaction of satiety and drunkenness. I don't say anything about Germany, how can you eat there for 30 Euros.
Since we really wanted a piece of meat (there is no such pleasure in our Gutter), we went to a meat restaurant in the center of Varadero. We ate 3 delicious beef steaks, drank two glasses of wine, a little rum, came out with a slight feeling of hunger, moral satisfaction and bewildered by the prices. Dinner cost us 70 euros.
It's all a remark.
I'll continue about the canteen. If you are ready to just fill your stomach, then it is normal. By the way, we saw a cockroach running out of vegetables that are put in an omelet… They didn't eat the omelet anymore. Cooks work without gloves. Waiters love tips. They work in different ways, but without enthusiasm.
For some reason, coffee is not offered at lunch. There is ice cream (only at lunch), but no coffee. While you get to the second local cafe with ice cream, where they pour some into a plastic cup, water remains from the ice cream. Without pleasure.
3. Alcohol. Without poisoning. But! It's not tasty. The cheapest one. Rum in Cuba at every turn. The prices are different, depending on the brand, on the exposure (standard). And cocktails are diluted with incomprehensible Coca-Cola and other incomprehensible and tasteless liquids. I repeat, we bought rum in the store, tonic. I want to note now that we are not super connoisseurs of expensive alcohol, we do not overstock with super expensive products. We are for quality in food and drinks. That's all. We will always be happy to have a piece of meat / poultry/fish and a salad, but cooked with high quality (and so that it is a piece of meat, not fat with a streak of meat).
4. Service. Thank you for the Superior room. It was cleaned well. They also helped us move. But I would like to note that at the reseption the girls (morning shift) are not very friendly and tidy, and the driver of the car who helped us move did not close our room (and we thanked him without noticing the oversight), the waiters in the restaurant are also not particularly friendly (but it seemed so to us). In addition, it's interesting when you want to buy beer in a can in a bar, the bartender sends you to reseption to pay back, and reseption does not accept payment and sends you to the store.... In short, there is not enough KPI, the ability and desire to work quickly. They talk a lot, they don't do much, but this is Cuba…
5. The beach. Sea. Clean, fine. There were always enough sun beds. There are no complaints. And someone will say, "what else is needed, such beauty." But beauty without basic comfort is no longer beauty. When it's not cozy, you must agree, the impression of a vacation can be greatly overshadowed.
In conclusion, I want to say that we perfectly understand that these are THREE STARS and it is not worth expecting a high level of service, chic rooms and Michelin-starred food, but elementary cleanliness and high-quality (albeit simple) cuisine, which ensures the comfort of rest, I still want to get for my considerable money.
An interesting program on the CHE channel "Tourists" about Cuba. It gives a vivid idea to future tourists.
We didn't really understand why Tez Tour recommends this hotel.
