A small hotel (with 35 rooms, it seems) is located 12 minutes walk from the railway station, but not in the center, which pleases. The surrounding area is within the walls of a former monastery, a garden, a small pool, a patio, birds, greenery (which is a luxury for Florence, because everything is in stone).
The service level is 4*, 4 good European stars. The rooms are comfortable, but not too spacious. The kitchen at breakfast is excellent (I didn't have to have lunch or dinner). It seems that there is no full-fledged kitchen.
Clean, cozy, correct, close to the center (at an equal distance from the Duomo Square and from the Pitti Palace).
