A wonderful hotel and a wonderful beach

The three star hotel in Cancun could have met all the needs for relaxation and beauty if we had not rested the day before in the resort area of Tulum with its spacious beaches, untouched by commercial buildings, marinas and other civilization. In Cancun, everything is densely built up, every meter is designed to satisfy the whims of vacationers: several restaurants, swimming pools, a well-maintained park, small beaches with sun beds and drinks in all-inclusive bars. The exotics are added by peacocks walking around the buildings of the hotel. The room on the ground floor with two exits - a door and a compartment window - is austere to the point of minimalism. Two beds for three, one chair, table, dryer, plasma on the wall with 5 Mexican channels. The shower, toilet and sink are too old and do not shine with cleanliness. In general, the entire entourage of the hotel and its territory resembles a typical Soviet-era holiday home. If you don't try the best, you can be content with this "union" happiness. Great hotel. It feels like you are in a botanical garden, surrounded by palm trees and flowering shrubs. Iguanas are running around the lawns and birds are flying everywhere. The beach is beautiful and quite clean. There are several swimming pools on the territory, a choice for every taste. The food is delicious and satisfying. You can also eat pizza and sushi during the day. Lots of fruits. The rooms are a little worn out, but this does not spoil the overall impression. The staff is friendly and helpful, always smiling and ready to help and prompt. If there was a choice of where to stay, I would definitely choose it again.

It was in November, a strong three, the rooms are spacious enough, French Windows facing the street, shampoo, gel, water is available. There is no toothbrush cup, it is inconvenient. We left the hotel for just one night, and we were evicted, and other people were put in the room: for some reason, the hotel staff decided that we had "left forever" - although the room was paid for a week in advance, and our belongings remained in it, including in the safe. The staff gathered our belongings and took them to the storage room. They didn't explain anything and didn't really compensate.
The hotel grounds are beautiful, but some rooms smell terrible of bleach, half of the cups in the dining room are broken. On the plus side, the food is delicious and varied.

We had a rest in September 2021. We flew AZUR AIR, the journey time was 13 hours, we were fed once. They went through customs quickly, but then they checked all the luggage, counted the cigarettes. We arrived at the hotel around 12 o'clock, but we checked in at exactly 15.00 hours, not a minute earlier. Everything worked in the room, but the furniture was very tired. When we arrived, the main restaurant was working, but on the 3rd day in the morning we went for breakfast and saw that the restaurant was closed and people were waiting for the opening, but the restaurant did not open, it turned out that they began to repair the roof, which they did not even warn and did not write any announcement, from that day on the food took place in a bar on the beach, which is not designed for this at all. All the furniture in the restaurant and bars is very dirty, it feels like it is never washed at all. It is impossible to sit on a chair in normal clothes, everything will definitely be stained. For the first time on vacation, I washed my clothes so many times. We went to the island of women, the ferry is located next to the hotel, the cost is 700 pesos for two round trips. There is a park on the island, an entrance ticket costs $ 50, everything is included (snorkeling (they give out a snorkel and mask), a zipline, food, drinks and much more). We gathered to visit other parks, the hotel at the reception sells excursions there, opened the safe to take money and found that there was not enough $ 500 in the wallet. I couldn't even believe that such a thing was possible, we turned to Tatiana (a Russian-speaking girl at the hotel), she was not at all surprised by what happened. She gave me a printed form already prepared for this case. She asked me to fill it out. She said that tomorrow she would make printouts of the opening of the room door and the safe, asked to come in the morning. In the morning we went to the reception, the printouts were already ready, but she did not give them to us, it was clear from them that in addition to us and the cleaner, a security guard came into the room in our absence (we were not at the hotel at that time, we were leaving for the shopping center). Tatiana assured us that everyone would believe and deal with the guard. For the entire subsequent rest, we went to the reception every day, as if to work, but every day we were told all different excuses, then the guard was on the weekend, then they could not check the time on the safe. As a result, on our last day of rest, we were told that no one else had opened the safe, the money had evaporated. and in general, it was necessary to contact the police. Our neighbors also lost money, but from the bag, more than $ 100 and small pesos, but I'm not saying anything about the bag anymore, all the pockets are in the bags. the ones that were left in the room were turned out all the time, the cleaners work well. We contacted the representative of Anex tour, she said that she had nothing to do with the hotel. I am very sorry for the time spent on clarifying the situation and nerves, I advise you to choose a hotel that values its reputation, but here no one cares about anything.

hi. we were from January 6 to January 17, 19. the hotel is 3 stars, I liked the varied food, free tennis court and kicker. The territory is quite diverse. everything is clean and beautiful. there is no negativity. the beach is next to the pier. This is a minus. but there is a reason to walk along the beaches and choose a convenient place. we took a car, drove it to the spit, Isla Blanca. I've been kiting there for 4 days. the wind was blowing from the north, rolled without a hydrant, everything is normal. flat and knee-deep. The place is perfect. on the other side of the Caribbean spit. be sure to roll into this place. The nightlife of Cancun is not for me. Will I go again? Hello everyone. We stayed at this hotel with a family of 2 adults and 2 children of 6 and 8 years old. From 02/18/2019 to 03/02/2019
For a long time we chose where to escape from our Russian winter, first we considered Phuket (we have already been to Pattaya in Thailand). But what stopped me was that the package offers only include breakfast, and it's more convenient with children when everything is included. And quite unexpectedly, the choice fell on Mexico.
Before that, we had long-term flights to Thailand, the Dominican Republic and the USA. Therefore, we had an idea what a long flight with children was.
Our tour operator was Anex.tour. Azur.air flew. I must say that the flight was moderately comfortable, there are no complaints. We were fed twice, everything was extremely polite and courteous. The distance between the chairs is not large, but also not quite right next to each other, the husband with a height of 187 cm said that it can be much worse.
It took a very long time to choose a hotel. I didn't want to go to a high-rise skyscraper, but I just wanted small low-rise buildings so that it would be cozy and not resemble a megalopolis. After reading the reviews, we stopped at the DOS PLAYAS BEACH HOUSE BY FARANDA 3* hotel - and I must say we did not lose.
We were almost the first to be dropped off from the airport, as the hotel is a 30-40-minute drive away. The location in Cancun is convenient. Near the OHHO store and currency exchange, bus stop (R1, R2 fare 12 local pesos) you can drive several stops to the LA ISLA shopping center, where there is a Ferris wheel and shopping – although even on foot it took 25 minutes to get there. If you go the other way – there is a CHEDRAUI hypermarket (like our Auchan) – just tell the driver the name and he will stop. They bought mangoes, avocados, coffee, tequila, T-shirts and tunics for gifts.
Russian russians, by the way, are very much in CHEDRAUI, as well as in our hotel – Russian speech is heard everywhere. There are still many Canadians in the hotel.
The WI-FI Internet in the hotel works perfectly, there are no problems with it, it takes almost everywhere.
The hotel is very cozy. Small 2-storey buildings. The attitude at the reception is very good. There is a Russian-speaking girl, Tatiana, who is very kind and responsive, responded to any requests and helped with advice. We speak English with the rest of the staff at the reception and it was not difficult for us to communicate with the staff.
By the way, there is another MAYA CARIBE HOUSE BY FARAND 3* hotel on the territory of our hotel - about both hotels, the entire infrastructure is the same, reception, meals in the same restaurants, only there are supposedly differences in buildings and rooms, but we still did not understand which ones belong to which hotel. Allegedly, Maya Caribe has older rooms, but at the same time a larger area, and they are closer to the RIO5* hotel, and there you can hear the noise from the pumps running. In general, I will say this, if you do not like the rooms, they say that they change without problems, and people who went to Maya Caribe rested with us, and when they did not like their room, they were accommodated in our building. So the numbers are mixed up here))). But the price, like the Maya Caribe, is cheaper. Therefore, you can just save money!
The territory of the hotel is not large, but also not small – it is spacious enough, everything is clean, well-groomed, green and pleasant everywhere. You can meet iguanas, they had a house under the stairs of our room – as many as three of them lived there))) The children were very happy with them, they always got out to bask in the sun during the day and guarded our wet clothes hanging on the dryer)))
We got room 2203 on the 1st floor with access to the central path. Very convenient location to the restaurant, the beach and the reception. The room is spacious and cozy. Everything needed in the room was cleaned every day (they left either 10 pesos or $ 1, which was in cash). A safe with an electronic combination lock.
Everything was fine in terms of nutrition, despite the fact that this is a 3* hotel, in the morning freshly squeezed juices: orange, melon and cucumber))), fruits: pineapples, melon, watermelon and papaya, grapes, different types of meat, fish, mussels, there are no problems with alcohol either, different bars were ordered cocktails, wine, champagne, tequila. A chocolate fountain was often put up for lunch, marshmallow marmalade for children and even chewing gum balls, as well as sweets. There is a restaurant A'la card with Thai cuisine, there was a very delicious soup with coconut milk – sweet. And the second one was very tasty rice and chicken. The only thing we didn't have at the hotel was ice cream.
The beach of our hotel was very nice. Fine white sand, we mostly rested at the very end, at the far second restaurant, where the Rio 5* hotel was already starting - by the way, their beach was made of rocky reefs, it surprised us that such a beautiful and huge hotel, but our beach was more comfortable. We got up early and immediately took up sun beds on the beach at about 7 a.m., and never once were we left without a sunbed. The sun beds are free. The entrance to the sea is excellent, the sand. At the time when we had algae, we did not have it, although when we went on excursions, tourists from other hotels complained that it was impossible to enter the sea because of algae.
On the other side of our beach, closer to the central restaurant, there was a marina from where ships sailed to Isla Mujeres – the Island of Women, and there was already a city beach and shops.
We went to the XPLOR park with the children, they immediately recommended it to us and we did not regret that we went. All the parks are located in the Riviera Maya, about 1.20 km away. This park consists of bungee ropes, on which you fly from mountain to mountain, landing in the water is possible. Therefore, as soon as you come to the Park, immediately put on bathing suits, and leave dry clothes in the safe. Also, if there is no protective waterproof phone case, then you also need to leave it, otherwise there is no way, because sometimes you plunge into the water with your head))) We also went canoe sailing and buggy riding there. We saw cenotes, castor caves. The food in the park by the bracelet is very decent, drinks are included, everything is delicious and there was even ice cream))). Be sure to set aside a day and visit this park.
We visited the EK Balam tour (it was very hot on the pyramids). We also visited the pink lakes, Valladolid, and Rio Lagartos, where we swam along the bay with crocodiles and swam on the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico.
We also went to the island of Women, bought a tour from the locals near the marina at our hotel. We were alone on the ship, Russians, mostly local residents, Mexicans, Spaniards and Americans and Argentines. The guys on the ship tried very hard, on the way back they organized various contests and dances. It was very interesting to watch the local audience having fun. On the island of Women itself, we were somehow not impressed by anything, but even repelled. The port where we sailed was like a huge east station, with a lot of people, suitcases, souvenir shops. In general, it's not what we would like to see. We didn't go deep into the island, rested on a private beach with several slides, ate there, and then ran a couple of blocks and back to the boat.
We also went on an excursion with the children on a Pirate ship. We also bought it from the locals.
The show is very decent (in English, but in general everything was clear, even to our children). We boarded at 7 p.m. and it all ended around 22.00 p.m. Everything is very beautifully decorated. The ship itself is quite new, not battered)) Captain Jack Sparrow, dwarf and other pirates played out an interesting scenario. During the trip, a ghost ship sailed up to us, and then we got close to another pirate ship, there was a seizure, and first the pirates of our ship switched to another ship, and then they switched places, we were captured, a pirate battle was held. Then we celebrated the victory, fireworks were launched from the ship, then we were fed a delicious dinner, drinks were served throughout the voyage. At the end there was a fun disco. Again, we were the only Russians there. When there was a dating game, our Captain Jack Sparrow guessed or guessed the representatives of different countries of the world who were present on the ship. People told where they came from, and everyone was greeted. And at the very end, he says, well, who could I forget. There is someone else from some country here. Well, it turned out to be us))) Russia is in Spanish.
Summing up the above, I want to say that Mexico has conquered us. You can't tell much in the review, you can't describe it, but you need to go here and see. You can't not like it. For those who do not need pathos and luxury, our hotel was exactly what they needed for a reasonable price. And the quality of accommodation, food, beach and location is exactly in my opinion a level more than 3*. I recommend both the hotel and the place, and of course Cancun and Mexico!!!
