We were at the hotel for May 2023. There were a lot of people. Mostly pensioners from Old Europe.
The food was varied, there was a large selection of salads, hot dishes and snacks. Meat and fish were also presented . Soups of 2 types, national cuisine.
Good quality alcohol.
The rooms were cleaned every day. Shower sets and towels have been replenished. The bathrobes were in the room.
The spa center is beyond praise. The saltwater pool is very pleasant. The water is warm and part of the pool is outside, it's generally super!
The area is very well maintained and clean.
The staff is friendly
We "rested" at this hotel from October 7 to October 17, 2023. By the way, I tried to post this review on the hotel's website immediately upon my return, but it did not appear there.
From the very beginning. October 7th is Saturday. The plane from Moscow arrived in Monastir at 3 a.m. local time, at 5 we were at the hotel. It turned out that there were no ready-made empty rooms, because (it became clear later) all the rooms that were vacated on Friday were occupied by local residents who filled the hotel for the weekend. Before our eyes (we were in the resort area all the time before check-in), a group of local children who arrived at about 11 o'clock in the morning were settled in the hotel. We also saw a French elderly couple who arrived at the hotel much later than us, but checked in almost immediately. (By the way, so that you understand that my wife and I are not new to the tourism business, I inform you that I am 80 years old, and my wife is 73 years old and we have visited many places).
As a result, someone from our flight got into the room at 12-13 o'clock, and some closer to 17. My wife and I were first offered to settle in a "bungalow", which we refused after getting acquainted with what it is. So, the "bungalow" is a huge concrete half-pipe through which a corridor runs and from it, on one side facing the sea, there are entrances to 6-8 rooms. Each room has access to the green area through a sliding window-door. But you don't see the sea – all the "bungalows" (5 or 6 such concrete structures) are located under the trees, plus you can't leave this door open, because "guests" - cats come to you immediately, and the whole lawn is littered with traces of their vital activity and smells. By the way, you will have the same "pleasure" if you stay in a "bungalow" overlooking the sea – later we saw that there are such on the other side of the hotel.
Speaking of cats, they are everywhere, even in the restaurant and the restaurant staff do not chase them.
Now about the room. The refrigerator had to be turned off because it was shaking and wheezing. The safe was repaired 2 times and the problem was solved only after it was replaced. There was no kettle, cups, glasses for drinking water, a toilet brush, a full set of towels, shower gel – only shampoo. We received all this only after contacting the reception – and no one speaks Russian, thank God I have an English worker.
The temperature of the water in the shower changes from hot to cold all the time, only cold water flows from the hose replacing the bidet. The bed linen and towels are gray – they cannot be washed. By the way, towels for feet and face do not differ in design – usually, in other places, the foot is "stamped" on the foot towel. The room has a "balcony". I write in quotation marks, because this is a "false balcony", its floor is located above the knee, the width of the "balcony" is 50 cm, you can not go out and sit on it, you can try to dry your swimsuits and then if you brought ropes with you.
Several times after cleaning the room, we came across the fact that dirty towels were taken away, but clean ones were not left instead. And you came from the beach and have to take a shower before lunch.
By the way, if you look at the hotel from the sea, you get the impression that each room has a balcony. In fact, there are real balconies that you can go out on, but there are only a few of them, the rest are the same as in our room.
The hotel territory is partially cleaned – the main exit is towards the sea and near it. Other exits do not even sweep the foliage from the paths and do not wash them. So, on one of the paths along which we went to the beach, on the 2nd or 3rd day of our stay, something from the food was spilled. We left, and that's how it stayed.
One of the 2 elevators did not work for several days, while there was no announcement on it and who did not know about it, from among the new arrivals, first entered it, pressed the button of his floor, the door closed, then opened and he went back out
There are no basic snacks in the hotel bars - nuts, chips or anything else. There are also no paper napkins and, as the manager at the restaurant explained to me, they are not allowed there. Speaking of paper napkins, they are also strictly limited in the restaurant – 2 pieces per person, and in the evening, in general, they do not rely on – only white cloth ones.
The appliances on the buffet dishes are fantastic. Olives and olives are offered to take with a fork, stewed vegetables with tongs, cakes also with uncomfortable appliances, etc. Green vegetables and salad leaves are cut into huge pieces, parsley, dill and arugula lie in "branches" 20 cm long. Bottles of vegetable oil, which you have to pour over vegetables, with a capacity of 1 liter – it is impossible to hold in your hand, especially considering that they are oily on the outside.
The only delicious food is pastries and some fruits - melons and dates. Apples are made of iron. Instead of yogurt, liquid kefir, instead of muesli, some hard balls that you can't crack, stewed vegetables are almost charred on top and raw inside. In 10 days, there are 2 types of soup – meat with rice and vegetable soup with chicken broth (squash or pumpkin), smelling of earth.
By the way, in the cafe where we had lunch during the excursion to Carthage, Tunisia and Sidi bou Said, there was excellent, delicious food, So we can conclude "that they do not know how to cook food not in Tunisia, but in a hotel."
Now about the sea. The sea is wonderful – the purest from morning to evening. However, there are jellyfish that sting, as well as small fish that bite their legs. And then about the beach:
1. There are no restrictive buoys for which you cannot swim and, as a result, there are no lifeguards on the beach.
2. There are no changing booths, one shower on the edge of the beach, nowhere to wash your feet when leaving the beach, there is no elementary bench on which you can sit down to sweep the sand off your feet and put on shoes.
To complete the story about the hotel, I will say the following – it received 4 stars in 2004. So draw conclusions.
There is also a question about the excursion program. Hammamet, where we lived, is a very interesting city with an ancient fortress, but for some reason there is no sightseeing tour of it.
Concluding our review, I will say the following – it is a pity that our vacation was ruined by what I described above, and our money was "stolen".
And in the attached photos, this is what is called a "bungalow"
The food is on the level. The service is not bad. The staff is friendly. The rooms are decent. The territory is large and green. Clear. The beach, with the opening of Royal Azur, has become worse. The separation of the sunbeds is unclear.. The towel has to wait longer. The SPA is great.
The option when the result is higher than expected... excellent sea (better than in Monastir)! The kitchen did not disappoint, respect the chef. The most important thing is that the territory is VERY GREEN
I liked the sea, the escort in Russian, the room cleaning. The rooms, although not new, are clean, cozy, and have everything you need.
I did not like it and I think that the catering is not 4 stars: it is very different from the time of arrival, there are no half dishes in the morning, the coffee maker is not included, etc., you have to wait, when asked about any mandatory dishes, they offer to come at 8, and breakfast from 6 o'clock. There is no control of the devices with which the dish is applied, not a varied diet, there has never been seafood for 9 days, the dishes are not signed.
Breakfast was nominated at the check-out. Check-out was very early at 4.15 am. We got up earlier and came for breakfast, one employee was assembling racks for dishes. After persistent questions, 10 minutes later he took out a loaf and that was it.
On the beach, the towel issuing officer delays the issue of towels to Russians in principle. The attitude towards the French and the locals is completely different.
I have been staying at this hotel since October 7, 2021. I liked the well-groomed territory, the presence of a spa complex. cleanliness and order in the hotel, friendly staff. quick check-in in the morning at 8 o'clock and breakfast immediately. Upon departure, you only need to leave the electronic key at the reception - this is convenient. I didn't really like the food. A lot of things, but not everything is delicious. They were not forced to wear a mask at the hotel, access to food is free, Wi-Fi is free and catches well throughout the territory. Near the Sol Azur hotel. It was possible to go there for events. But he loses out on beauty. Some tourists are not here for the first time and say that after renovation it is one of the best hotels in Hammamet. The Thalasso complex is beautiful, but I did not like the procedures, they are somehow lazily done. But there is a nice pool with hydromassage and outdoor baths- unusual. And the hammam at the Sokos hotel in St. Petersburg is much better and cheaper. In general, I recommend the hotel for a holiday.
A good place, after which there are many pleasant memories. The organization of daytime and evening entertainment events was excellent. I participated in everything that was possible. I especially remember volleyball, mafia and the Mr. and Miss hotel contest. The service was not bad, but the service in the dining room left much to be desired. I personally didn't really like the local food, plus they didn't spoil me with a variety of fruits and berries either, and those that were scattered very quickly. In addition, 2 of the 3 bars could not boast a large assortment of drinks and cocktails. But in general, the place was very pleased
We love to relax with our family in Hammamet right here. Good beaches, smooth access to the sea, clean water. Not bad numbers. It happens that there is not much to eat from the food, it is not spicy, the cooking is generally not bad. The animation can be either very good or not, it depends on the year, the Novostar grid. There is beach volleyball. The staff is generally friendly, they try sometimes...) The rooms are cleaned well, the linen is clean. They do not force you to wear masks at the hotel, this is +++ Of the disadvantages, there are many locals.
A good hotel, on solid 4, we were from 05/06/2021 to 13.05 , everything is clean, the territory is well maintained, the rooms are cleaned every day, there are no problems with towels, during this period there are huge + in my opinion few people, 50% populated, for me it was cool, no queues, the staff are all good-natured and smiling there is animation every day, but a minus in children's animation (most likely due to the number of people)
The food is good, but there were few fruits, only peaches and oranges, ice cream for lunch and dinner was delicious, overall the rest was a success, we are satisfied and thanks to the staff
In short: the pros are the sun, white sand and the sea are super, the location is not very good, the food is normal, a good pool, animation is just no one, who writes good, you have not seen it at all, which is not the attitude of the Tunisians themselves to tourists, they do not like us, but they are very disposed to their own. They mostly speak French. No one jumps behind the sunbeds and everything is measured. Yes, I forgot to say the shower is not well located, it's very far to go
How beautiful Tunisia is! The location and infrastructure of the hotel deserves the highest ratings! The sea, its magical fragrance, the sun, the night sound of the surf and the beauty of nature will make you the happiest!
I'm enjoying this place right now! I'm getting high.. This moment is the most expensive! New insights and a Taste of Life! With love! 🙏🌞❤❤❤
We stayed at this hotel from 05/20/2021 to 06/03/2021
An honest review.
To begin with, a vacation in Tunisia was one of the few possible in our difficult times...the decision to choose this particular hotel was made 15 minutes after the tour operator's offer and the analysis of the reviews posted on this site.
1.- the hotel is not in 2015, but rather in 1915- so that no one is deluded .. ie, furniture, plumbing, and everything that is on the territory of the appropriate type and quality. Once, many years ago, it was very cool and stylish, but now you get into the movie "Kin- za - za", get ready!
My friend and I are people with a normal sense of humor, so we made an effort not to get upset about the little things and focused on the pros.
One of the advantages is a great animation team, just well done!!!Fresh grilled fish every day, stunning views - the edge of the world, white sand, warm clear sea, general indifference that allows you to relax and enjoy what is happening.
Summary - the vacation was a success, I didn't want to leave, thanks to all the participants!!!@
Special respect to Roger's animation chief and the beautiful girls from his team.
we rested from June 18 - 10 days - the hotel is good - the food is varied but pulls for 3+ three cooked ( either quail or mini chickens ) are always not cooked - they do not chew at all and during lunch and dinner to drink wine, you need to ask for something to be poured ( and why not put 1 booth at a time the request is black or white.. on the table or make a bar where you can come up and take what and how much you want ?? )
Great hotel!I advise everyone, the staff is friendly, the hotel is clean, the pools are cleaned every day!The food is standard, nothing unusual, you won't stay hungry for sure!
The hotel is good, we love Tunisia. I take off the star only for staff service. Their love for the Algerians when they swarm in droves for the weekend is ineradicable. If this is a matter of principle for you, then you should think about it. They are never reprimanded, although they behave like pigs at the trough in the restaurant! They are served primarily everywhere. Among the advantages: an incomparable sea and a large green area! More animation, probably. We are not fans, but people admired us. Next to the thalasso center, there's a cool pool with all sorts of things. But the center itself is very tired and requires cosmetic repairs. The territory is united with Sol Azur. We were unlucky, we were accommodated in the former rooms of the Salt, although now they are considered Belevsky. It's bad luck that there is no air conditioning system in these rooms. The temperature in the room does not drop below 27 degrees in any way. Overall, I liked the hotel. It's good for Tunisia.
A magnificent hotel. I was before the pandemic, I remembered the rest for a long time. I do not note any disadvantages. A great all-inclusive restaurant. You don't have to go anywhere else. The menu changes, it doesn't bother you. Very good service, comfortable stay on site, good live music in the evening.
The French architecture of the 80s of the last century, a little tired, but carefully preserved. At one time, the hotel had a very high status, and they are trying to preserve it now. The hotel has been renovated, the decoration and furniture are stylized according to the fashion of the 1980-70 years. If you like the entourage of films about Agent 007 with Connery or comedies about Agent 117 with Dujardin, you should definitely go there.
A good hotel, it works out its four with a bang. Cleaning is daily, the kitchen is European plus local. The clean beach is private. Few Russians, mostly locals

I had a rest in 2018. Everything was great, clean rooms, beautiful grounds, a large assortment of food. There are no complaints about the staff either
A good hotel, sand, sea, beach, rooms
for 3 +, not new, there is a spa, but $ 100, the attitude towards all tourists is not very good, they treat only their own well, with everything everywhere.

I liked the hotel, the beach and the sea are clean, although there are a lot of foreigners in the hotel and therefore the staff does not speak Russian, but everything is beautiful, clean, the food is always fresh and varied, lots of fish and seafood, the rooms are large, the linen is snow-white, the room is cleaned every day. I would love to go to this hotel again.
The hotel is great. A cozy, beautiful, well-designed territory. The staff is very friendly. Our shower holder was broken in the bungalow, which we informed the Russian administrator about. Everything was changed and repaired instantly.. The food is in perfect order. The waiters are very attentive and work quickly. It was suggested to have one dinner in a separate restaurant. The food is ordinary, but the food is served in a RESTAURANT, and the beautiful atmosphere and good service brought a little more romance to our vacation.
Towels are provided on the beach. There is a lot of entertainment for different tastes throughout the day.
Staying at the hotel is very easy and comfortable. There is always someone nearby who will come to your aid.
If someone saw a dirty tablecloth or napkin next to the trash can, then this is only a question for vacationers: before our eyes, they wiped their hands on the tablecloth and threw napkins where they stood.
Now about the spa at the hotel. The second time, I would not take the course, but chose the procedures that I want and in the order that will be useful to me. My husband and I took an Ayurveda course. The doctor who must be visited (for a fee) is a young girl who took her temperature and blood pressure, and everything else remains unclear, because she does not understand English and our Russian-speaking assistant also cannot help because of the language barrier.
The procedures are assigned what they have free and in the order convenient for them, and not as it would be useful and convenient for us. During a relaxing massage, cold oil was poured on me, right on my swimsuit, it was cold in the room, and they didn't cover me with a towel at the end of the massage, and I lay and froze. One day my husband and I shared the procedures: he in the first half, I in the second. It was a pity to waste time that could have been spent together. My conclusion on spa procedures is that you do not need to refuse, just pick up everything you want yourself, and before that, persistently ask for information about each procedure. Don't be shy. It's your money and your time, which is even more valuable than money.
And I recommend the hotel itself, for any age, everything is done correctly and comfortably here.
The hotel is very old. A nice beach and clear sea (when calm), and as everywhere else, algae and debris in the sea. The beach is not cleaned thoroughly. So the garbage was taken out on the ball and that's it. There are huge cockroaches in the rooms!! The bartenders are arrogant and it feels like that: what do you owe them)) so everything is included!! Alcohol is poured on the beach and by the pool into paper cups. If beer, then 2/3 foam, if something is stronger, it's from a thimble, 1 serving of 20 grams. If you take a double whiskey, which is 2 thimbles and a coke, they may not give you more beer)) Have a drink and come over. There are no problems with this in Turkey. I don't set foot in this hotel anymore!! And I will not advise my friends!!
Excellent thalasso center! Back in 2919, she made a second prepayment for the second time, which biblio globus never returned.... It was not possible to visit the second time(
The attitude towards vacationers is bad, they arrived at night, did not check in, the whole bus was sleeping on chairs in the lobby. My son tried to put us in a bungalow after a sleepless night. This bungalow has probably not been cleaned since it was built, sand everywhere, stink, all plumbing is rusty, in general I have not seen this ...The money for the reception did not help, there was a scandal. If I could, I would have walked away....The praiseworthy reviews ARE PURCHASED.
A great hotel, especially for the burning tours. The food is great, the sea is super

We stayed at the Sol Azur hotel in autumn, but used the territory and the beach of Belle Azur.Of course, the hotel is one star higher. The area is very green and beautiful. The beach is a song.I liked everything very much!!!
The hotel has three stars. A very old hotel. The furniture in the rooms is old. Cabinets and doors either don't open or fall off. The restaurant is always full, especially for dinner, whenever you come, the table is free or clean to find a problem. Sometimes you have to go and look for devices. There were no dates at all. This is my fifth time in Tunisia and dates have always been in unlimited quantities.
There was no promised chocolate fountain. The juices are heavily diluted with water in the morning.
There is practically no seafood. Once in 8 days there were overcooked shrimps. There was a fish. Several types.
One of the advantages for me was oatmeal in the morning.
Strawberries were not made from fruits every day. Mostly apples and oranges.
There is animation. Well done guys.
The Thalasso center is also very old. And a constant full house. Noise. They work like on a conveyor belt. It's not pleasant.
I recommend. The advantages are good service, wonderful food, a large territory. There are swimming pools, a private beach, and a Spa center. Cons; old furniture in the rooms and overpriced prices in the Spa.
The hotel is good, the beach is good, everything is decent, food, drinks.
But the thalasso center is not about anything, ordinary massages, generally a small divorce in this regard. Therefore, I put 4, although they say that the thalasso center does not apply to the hotel, but not so.

A wonderful hotel, matches the star rating, the staff, the restaurant, everything is fine.
The furniture in the rooms is very old, in rather poor condition. They save on everything. There is a shortage of staff in the restaurant. The tables just don't have time to move after eating. It doesn't pull at its 4 stars. Rather, 3, which tend to 2. Of the advantages - WiFi catches in the room and works stably, the air conditioner works properly.
