Now, I think this is not relevant due to the pandemic, as long as the borders are closed. This is one of my favorite places in Finland. Near the ski resort Pyukha, forest, lake. The prices are very affordable and you can rent an apartment or a cottage with a good discount. We usually travel with a dog, the staff is loyal to this, they didn't take any extra money. The staff is Russian-speaking, a man from Murmansk, pleasant and friendly, snowshoes and cheesecakes are provided free of charge. I would like to visit it again.
Cozy houses in the north of Lapland among snowdrifts and excellent nature.
Perfectly accommodated by a family of four, the location is a 17-minute drive from the second longest ski slope in Finland after Levi.
Hospitable hosts, service in Russian, new dishes, sauna in the house and all the amenities, immediately went snowmobiling at a low price. In the evening, we talked in the lobby by the fireplace in the reception building, where all travelers gathered.
The children and we were very satisfied
Family and friends have long advised me to rest - apparently the sweat from the work shirt began to drip on their brains. I didn't want to spend money and time on the road, I didn't want to go to hot countries where the same sweat sticks everywhere, and breaths only bring stuffiness to the lungs). The choice fell on Finca, and after studying the map, tips and reviews – KUUKIURU, under Kemiyarvi, it seems like this is the perfect place to refresh after a hard working year. And what? – river, price, nature reserve, drive close and at the same time away from civilization… I was skeptical, frankly, I was pissed - a vacation abroad in Finland for a person with my level of English can become a chest of shame and awkwardness.
Upon arrival, the nerves immediately disappeared, leaving room only for the buzz. The owners of the campsite are Russian guys, very friendly. Any question, advice, any problem is not a problem. Everything is solved very quickly, simply and pleasantly. It seems to be a foreign country, but KUUKIURU is like home…I moved into a Finnish house with a sauna. There is nothing to complain about - it is well equipped and furnished: the kitchen feeds, the sauna warms both body and soul ... The territory itself is also very pleasant - everything is neat and beautiful in Finnish, forest bunnies run out of the forest from time to time and also get high. Bunnies are not the only entertainment here - fishing, swimming, the forest ... I did not swim - the first days of June are not quite suitable for this, but I caught fish, took my soul away)
Not far from the campsite is Põha - a ski town (and a national park- beauty, ) in summer it is also interesting to take a walk – hiking trails are equipped, I went there, including on a bike to shop at K-market.
In short, 1.5 weeks flew by like 3 days. It feels just like new)) – the air, running, walking, a peaceful atmosphere, and all this is very budget-friendly. I am very pleased with myself and the feeling of usefulness of the time spent. I'll come back here when it's warmer, with the kids
It is a very beautiful place with extraordinary energy, everything is well maintained, it is pleasant to be there, as well as delicious coffee from freshly ground beans.
