On the site of ancient Pamphylia, in the village of Elikesik, which is located northwest of the city of Alanya, there is an architectural monument Hamaksia. There is little reliable information about the city – the first mention belongs to the ancient writer Strabo, who could not name Hamaxia a city, but described in detail the cedar trees, of which there were so many that it was enough to build ships. Later, the lands were donated to Cleopatra. Currently, the remains of observation towers and city walls that protected the settlement from enemy capture are well preserved.
