A structure built right in the middle of Iznik, at the intersection of roads coming from the four gates of the walled city. It was gathered in this church in the year 787 of the Seventh Council, where important decisions about Christianity were taken. The building was converted into a mosque after the conquest of Iznik by the Ottoman Gentleman Orhan Gazi in 1331.
