A good store, several floors with different sections, I really liked the huge department on the 1st floor with cosmetics, perfumes and hair and body products, a huge assortment. There is a department of socks, clothing, a huge department of fabrics and bed linen. A good store.
Two stars only for the architecture of the building and interior decoration. Otherwise, prices are highly inflated, sellers are customer-oriented, rude, and not friendly. They do not have information about the product. There is no desire to buy anything here. It is also considered the main department store of the city. I went shopping at another store, where the staff is friendlier and more polite.
It's great that such a place has not been lost. It's interesting to go back in time. I was glad to have a delicious meal in the "Soviet" dining room again.
Classics of Soviet trade in a modern format. A huge selection of products from manufacturers in Belarus. Given the often honest (that's how) sales are conducted, it turns out to be more profitable than in many branded stores. For tourists and shopping enthusiasts, a visit is a must!
It looks so beautiful, but inside it's a complete mess. There is a huge cosmetics department on the ground floor. I bought mascara, it's completely dry (( there's also a leather goods department on the floor. I recommend it! Excellent prices and quality. There's nothing to do on the second floor.
Modestly, very modestly. There may be an idea that this should be compared to Moscow, but this is far from the case. Products of different purses and variety, but we left without any purchases at all. There are many scattered shops nearby, where they have successfully shopped.
A store of specific goods, the choice is small, the movement is inconvenient, without an elevator or escalator, shops on top of each other, sellers are not particularly friendly, they are more busy with goods than with buyers. We were in November, basically all the goods for the new year. And they left with nothing.
The Stalin-style building is quite luxurious. The range of products is normal. There is a schoolboy fair, but the assortment is not great. The sellers are polite, ready to show and tell everything, if the thing did not fit, they exchange it without incident
This store is like something out of the past! The products are only of domestic production. The salesmen are aunties in overalls from the 80s and 90s, and they're all so statuesque in their figures and unflappable in their faces. They are strictly unfriendly but quite responsive. Just like I've been in the past
There are a lot of different and interesting clothes. There are Belarusian production and imports. A good cosmetics and zoo goods store. There is a small grocery store and a small cafe
The format of a Soviet department store. For nostalgia for the scoop, come here! And the most advanced and convenient one is "Belarus". TSUM is in second place. GUM takes the honorable third place for historicity.
Good afternoon. Gum is generally a very good store, when I visit Minsk I definitely go in. But today an unpleasant story happened. A coffee shop opened on the ground floor, my friend and I decided to go in, have a cup of coffee (I like what is served in a cup), ordered. The cup and handle turned out to be covered in blood, they asked to replace it, the second cup turned out to be dirty, covered in smudges. Instead of apologizing, the bartender was rude to us, said he didn't like drinking from disposable cups, if he didn't like something, he didn't care, and finally wished that God would give us the Annunciation on the holiday. It was already too much- rudeness of the highest degree. There was an unpleasant aftertaste.
I have always been biased against state-owned stores) But GUM impressed with its wide range of products and very responsive sales consultants. We were pleased with the installations for the May 9 holiday and a very large selection of discounts
I always enjoy visiting this store. It is very beautiful and well decorated. Sellers are attentive and correct. What can you say about the staff of the cafeteria on the second floor. A man works, rude and cynical, like a porter from the Begingham Palace. I ordered coffee and flaxseed ice cream. I was served something broken on a waffle and doused with syrup. The menu mentioned salted caramel. There was no sign of her on the proposed version. In general, the ice cream was served to fuck off, aunt) I am very disappointed with this situation. It's a pity that such a store keeps such employees.
In the photo, "Expectation" and "Reality".😂😂😂
We got there thanks to the quest tour "Secrets of Skaryna: The search for unique UNESCO houses on Independence Avenue"
The tour with the tasks took place on the phone whatiftour.com
I would like to thank Pavel Laputsky, an intern, for his help in choosing shoes for my husband. A very competent and responsive young man. I was happy to offer different models of shoes. We bought a great pair of shoes for spring. We were very satisfied with the store, the assortment and the work of the seller Pavel.
There has been a problem with parking there for years, and it cannot be solved. But on the other hand, it is more convenient to take the subway, come, bribe yourself to school and leave on any necessary subway line))
We need to work on the assortment. In the main state-owned store, there are Chinese, Russian, and even Polish goods on the shelves, but not Belarusian ones. For example, instead of household appliances Horizon, Atlant and Hephaestus, there are Chinese nounames
Of course, everyone should visit the island of the Soviet past. A good choice of home knitwear and underwear, for lovers of cotton. There are also modern models. A department with linen and souvenirs, but expensive. A large selection of local cosmetics. At the very top in the right wing there is a Soviet canteen, the prices are average. There is an elevator in the left wing.
GUM impressed! It's beautiful like in a theater, great shops, everything is there, the prices are not draconian. We walked around the shops with pleasure. The staff was friendly, helped with the child, distracted from mom. Of course, as a woman, I was pleased with the choice of linen fabric, the prices are cheaper here and any colors. There is also a huge selection in clothing stores. We spent half a day in GUM, although I do not like the shopping center, but here the atmosphere is completely different, there is a large space, there is no fuss, and beauty is all around.
Convenient location. A perfectly preserved building in the Soviet Empire style. A good selection of locally produced goods. It's interesting to walk around, take a look… I was happy to buy myself a pair of office shirts. My wife chose a tablecloth and napkins with traditional Belarusian cornflowers. Sincere communication with sellers. God save us!
GUM is probably a must-visit place if you are in Minsk. The building is beautiful inside and out. The counter format of the magvzines, as in childhood. There are a lot of shops and goods for every taste and need. From here you can take away a suitcase of souvenirs of Belarusian production.
A store that evoked nostalgia for Soviet times!))) Everything is collected in one place, logically distributed by floors. Excellent cosmetics department!
GUM is one of my favorite places in Minsk)) A great selection of goods, it differs from TSUM products, and also differs in price, it is cheaper in GUM)) A huge selection of leather haberdashery and other goods, cool, pleasant sellers of goods, they will always tell you everything you want to find, I recommend it!

I haven't been to GUM for a long time and on 09/23/2024 I came in and was very disappointed. The store is saved only by a gorgeous building and architecture, according to the occupancy of goods, as in a regional store. On the ground floor, the only advantage is good lighting, even Mattioli does not save the situation, at least they have something to pick up and look at, there is a very poor choice, mostly grandma's bags. A housekeeper made of oilcloth for 75 rubles will not make you a cash register. To the left is the cosmetics department, the priority is with the domestic manufacturer, in the household there is a wide choice of manufacturers and then there is a larger and wider line. The branded perfume is hidden behind locks, apparently so that the last remnants will not be sniffed out without permission. And I couldn't spend the money in this department. I went up to the 2nd floor and couldn't believe my eyes: in the semi-darkness on every corner, Why are plastic containers in the men's department? Is there nothing left for GUM to show? That's not why they come to the center of the capital. That is, you gave the central part to banks, and hid the women's department In the bowels, like women, and they will get there. But no! After such a meeting, I realized that there would be nothing interesting and fashionable in women's clothes. It became clear to me why there are few young people and mostly pensioners are shopping. What kind of commodity experts do you have? Many girls came out in the same perplexity as me. I went to the Central Department Store, bought everything I needed, and left more than 1,000 white rubles with them,
A standard state department store with an appropriate assortment, shoes, haberdashery, men's and women's clothing, the price is controversial, it all depends on what you need: price-quality and so on.
GUM is a legend!
In the 22nd year I left a review, and complained a lot about the prices ...
But "BINGO"!
Today (09/16/23) we visited the store with our family and were pleasantly surprised and completely satisfied.
We made a purchase for a mere penny 1) a full-fledged men's suit, 2) two men's shirts, 3) a man's tie. We got a 20% discount!!! As a result, 457 Belarusian rubles were given for everything.
When there is only a seedy suit on the market from 350 and above...
a pleasant shock.
Special thanks to the sellers on the second floor and especially to the lady in black with the name on the badge - Love.
We are capricious customers (this is me) it was about six o'clock in the evening, but Lyubov showed great patience and professionalism, carefully selected shirts, a tie and even helped to tie it for real - very beautifully.
We were very pleased and grateful and promise to come back for shopping.
GUM in Minsk is definitely RECOMMENDED!
The store is fundamentally different from GUM in the Moscow sense, for example. There is no chic, glitter and "luhari".. It seemed very simple, as if the "clothing market" was in the 90s..
We went to the cafeteria on Mikulchik's recommendation to try waffles. Well, everything is like in the Soviet service: the kitchen does not work: it's already 20.30, and we close at 21.00. I say, "where is at least some information?": "And look over there in small letters in the rules on the wall."
A gorgeous example of Soviet architecture, interiors, design and everything else in the center of the capital.
It may be a little cramped and a reorganization of the retail space is required.
It would be interesting to make a cafe or restaurant overlooking the street, the building is located in an exceptionally beautiful location and corner building
There is a large selection of goods, there are pavilions with clothes, toys and many others. There are always discounts and promotions. The staff is polite. The location is the most convenient.
Such a department store on the main street seems to be from the past. A pompous staircase, a clear layout on the floors — the first is cosmetics, the second is men, the third is women. My friends and I got underwear, home clothes and a collection with Belarusian symbols.
A beautiful building, a good selection of locally produced goods, bought pajamas from a Belarusian manufacturer and Christmas tree toys for the godmother. Prices are not lower than Moscow goods presented in Moscow by Turks. Well done, they support their producers, there is not an expensive dining room on the top floor, a variety of dishes and pastries. So come on in, who wants to choose souvenirs in the form of flax products..
GUM is a huge department store located in the very center of the Belarusian capital. Very close to the Minsk railway station. The building was built in 1951 (architects Lev Vladimirovich Melegi, Roman Mikhailovich Gegart (Trotsky). And GUM was opened to all citizens on November 6, 1951. The building is one of the most striking examples of Stalinist classicism. The trading equipment is made of valuable wood. Mosaic tiles are laid on the ground floor, parquet is laid on the other floors. But the main chandelier of the department store has been preserved to this day. My wife and I visited twice. My wife bought balms, creams, shampoo. I really liked the perfume and cosmetics department on the ground floor. I bought Polish perfume "Maybe" for my sister, and for myself I bought Polish aftershave "Vars" and cologne "Vars". Very well-known products to me from the time of the USSR. Qualified sales consultants provided assistance to the spouse when buying goods. For general information, the shoe department is located around the corner on Lenin Street. It is necessary to walk along the street itself a little bit. and you won't get past him. There, on the ground floor, I saw a section of gardening goods, a section of electrical goods. I recommend a visit. You will not leave empty-handed. The Belarusian merchant.
A luxurious building of the Stalinist Empire style, in which all the details of that time are carefully preserved: rich decoration, doors, fittings. It's nice to just come in and look around. You don't need to buy anything - mountains of incomprehensible clothes of incomprehensible brands and various junk at very low prices.
To the left of the building there is a cafe where Kobrin soft ice cream is sold. There is a queue all the time. Well, ice cream is like ice cream - just a delicious delicate sundae in a waffle cone.
An ordinary Soviet department store. It's big, but there's not much to buy. The prices are average for Minsk. There are almost no souvenirs (as in the whole of Minsk). Many things, including Belarusian flax, can be bought cheaper on the Internet.
It's time to say "Back in the USSR", although it won't be quite accurate. It seems that everything is filled with goods, and the mannequins are real, with heads and hairstyles) and it seems that people are walking, looking at something, but you start to choose, and it turns out, as then, there is nothing to take) but on the second floor in the cafeteria you can take berry or sea buckthorn tea with eclair - and already visiting GUM is filled with meaning) in short, if you ride a time machine, then you are here, take a look for a minute, and then suddenly you will pick up something else for yourself) just keep in mind that it is difficult to figure out the dimensions, the impression that different parameters are indicated on the same product from different manufacturers, he did not even want to figure it out, and to my remark that it is not possible to figure out the dimensions in any way, generally accepted dimensional designations are not indicated, the seller proudly replied to me: we have our own size range in Belarus, and everyone understands it.. What I noticed is, do you sell goods here or are you proud of your size range? There are a lot of tourists looking in here!.. A strange approach to trading. And there are also 4 floors and wonderful marble stairs, you'll get tired of climbing)
The GUM building is already a unique architecture at the moment. It is spacious inside, there is an elevator. There are cafes, bathrooms. Most of the goods, of course, are of Belarusian production.
Absolutely boundlessly boorish saleswomen of retirement age in the linen department.
To my greeting, she literally barked at me - what do you want?!
I ask - where are the big towels here?
And in response I hear an angry - Don't you see? Right in front of you.
Grandma, if she's tired and it's hard for her to stay on her feet all day, then you can take a watch or something like that. Why leave angry people to work in the main store of the country?
You can buy everything here! The choice of linen products was amazing. The size range is wide, and sellers will always prompt and help you make a choice
