The hotel is located along the road, trucks are constantly rumbling by. They don't know how to do laundry, things don't smell good afterwards, the food is constantly monotonous, the waiters walk around with unhappy faces because they were interrupted from watching shorts and asked to bring something, but they try to slip a check for signature with a dirty pen, despite the fact that the meal is still over.
The cost is too high, as for such rooms. But those who often visit Africa are already used to it. Anything that has at least some hint of minimal comfort conditions cannot be cheap in principle.
