We stayed at the Grand Bukhara Hotel back in September 2024. We read some reviews and were surprised, as if we were talking about different hotels. Yes, it was built a long time ago, back in Soviet times, but with a good repair. There are some disadvantages, but there are much more advantages. An important advantage is its location. It is located in the very center of Bukhara. Near the old and new towns.
We stayed in a large, clean and cozy room with a beautiful view of the old town. A big plus of the hotel is good noise insulation and privacy. There were no neighbors, and no sounds from the hallway. 2-room rooms with 2 bathrooms - Soviet standards of good hotels 😊👍
The hotel staff is qualified, friendly, attentive 🙏😌
Many thanks to the guys at the reception. There was no issue that could not be resolved, and promptly and with interest. Only good impressions remained from communicating with them.
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the hotel staff on the Navruz holiday, which is important for you. Good luck, good health, and the best.
Yekaterinburg, Evgeny, Anna.
The hotel room is more or less normal. A large bed. The bathroom is not very good and there are no shower accessories. You should take it with you. It will do for 1-2 nights. The breakfasts are not very good, just something to eat. But the Bukhara restaurant in the old town is very beautiful and the food is delicious.
So, well, I have something to write for you about this junk!
First of all, do not believe a single response where there are more than two stars.
Don't believe a single review with the words: clean, modern, good breakfast, helpful staff.
One of the worst hotels in Uzbekistan!
Modern?
Haha! Yes, in modern times, any hostel in Uzbekistan will give 100 points ahead to this misunderstanding! The only modern thing there is a coil in the bathroom. Everything else has not changed since the construction of this "hotel". I can safely assume that these are the 60-70 years. All the furniture is padded, there is only one socket in the bedroom, hidden behind the table. But wow, there are about five of them hidden behind the bedside table in the next dressing room. Is this a joke? No wonder you hide this electrician's nightmare behind a large bedside table too! Where is my normal bedside table???
Cleanliness? Don't make me laugh. Sheets with streaks and, excuse me, pubic hair. Do you change your underwear at all?
Dried chirkashi in the toilet (see photo)
Room service? Some cheeky lady from room service will simply ignore your requests, and then if she pays attention to you, your request is unlikely to be partially fulfilled!
Moving on!
Wait, did someone say a good breakfast? The only vegetable oil you'll find in the dining room is vegetable oil in overcooked eggs! 0 vegetables, 0 fruits, and no, we haven't come to a head-to-head analysis. There was an hour left before the end of breakfast, and during the time that we gave breakfast a chance, the assortment was not updated (there was not even a hint of salads or vegetables, not even a stale lemon).
There is no coffee machine, the milk is sour, there is not even instant coffee. The appliances are dirty, and there are few dishes.
I remember some kind of jelly on the trays with different colors. Is that even a pity I didn't take a picture of this game! There is no food, but gelatin with sugar and dye is a must have for breakfast!
Those people who are responsible for breakfast at this hotel are perverts!
They serve all this charm from 07:00 to 09:00.
What the fuck? Like you don't have to worry about the quality of breakfast if no one can get up for it?
Maybe enough negativity, but no, the smell in the hotel: the stink on the floors with a 50-year-old infusion, and, you know, I quickly found the source of the smell.
The carpet in the corridors is being vacuumed, and it looks clean, red as October, but it smells like a pensioner's closet! I think they wash it right like that, with rags on top, because I noticed that it's wet in places and it stinks from it!
That's it now! I would scrap or anathematize the entire hotel with staff and owners!
The hotel is stuck in Soviet times, rooms with broken Soviet furniture, terrible arrangement and disgusting interior. The room had a dirty wall filled with something, bed linen with holes and a tattered dirty carpet and a non-working shower. Of the 3 elevators in the hotel, only 1 worked, and even that sometimes stopped working and got stuck, the stairwell looks more like a high-rise from the 90s than one of the best hotels in the city. We should also mention the disgusting breakfasts. Despite the buffet system, literally 5-6 positions were offered, 3 of which were porridge, no bread, no cheese, no milk. The rest of the food is cold and tasteless, the jam looks more like plasticine, and the staff speaks neither Russian nor English.
Absolute bullshit
There is a very unpleasant smell in the hallway, and the reception staff, I don't
know why, started talking rudely when I asked about the 3-star hotel room because the view was beautiful from the dirty and disgusting balcony)
The hotel, apparently from Soviet times, was killed. The furniture is old, the rooms are smoky. The elevators work every other time. There is an electric kettle in the room, but it does not turn off. There is a refrigerator, but when the light is turned off, it also turns off. The bathtub is dirty, the mirror and taps are dirty. There is a TV, but only Uzbek-language channels are shown. The website says that it is three stars, but the hotel does not match this. The breakfast buffet is the same every day. For breakfast there is porridge, fruits, sausage, cheese. A dining room with a claim to sophistication, white tablecloths on the tables, chairs in white covers. But the oilcloths are sticky on the tablecloths, and the covers are dirty. The staff is friendly. The location is not bad. You can find shops and restaurants with national cuisine nearby. Old Bukhara with all the sights is a half-hour walk away.
Excellent modern hotel, wonderful staff. Comfortable and clean rooms. SOFT MATTRESSES!!!, which is extremely important for me personally, given that the overwhelming number of hotels for some reason focus on harsh, uncomfortable sleeping conditions. A buffet breakfast is included, quite varied and delicious. My husband and I liked it!
It's a very old hotel, and breakfast is very meager. I think it will do for your money. We booked it just to get off the train. If it's overnight, I don't recommend it.
A good hotel, designed in Oriental style, if I'm not mistaken, the building is still Soviet-built, with a gorgeous view of the city. The room is clean enough-the main thing is a clean bed, towels. The staff is polite, they speak Russian. Maybe it's worth working on breakfast- in my opinion a little weak. The room was not photographed, but the view from it in the photo
We stayed for 3 days, we really liked everything. The guys at the reception are very helpful! The hotel is near the Old Town. It takes 5 minutes by taxi.
The hotel has not been updated apparently since Soviet times. It is not pleasant to be in it. The most terrible smell in the elevator and corridors is from the carpet. The rooms have old smelly furniture, the taps are broken, you have to ask for hot water. The mattress is not very comfortable, we slept very badly. There is no air conditioning. Breakfast is bad: fried eggs in fat, tasteless sausages, yoghurts, 3 types of bread. The rest must be asked (we managed to beg for cottage cheese and porridge). They don't give you any fruits or vegetables. The only advantage is that it is within walking distance from the old town.
The hotel seems to be a little neglected. There is a feeling of classic Soviet from the entrance, but this is nonsense, but the musty and strange smell in the rooms is very unpleasant. There is a construction site nearby and this is a kind of alarm clock, instead of birdsong and breakfast did not like the taste. No pancakes or pancakes or sweets - charlotte, which looks and tastes so-so and is a very sweet shortbread. From vegetables : tomato, cucumber. Is the hotel 4 stars?
I got to the spice and silk festival! True, I never saw them, but I got a lot of positive impressions from the performances of folk groups at a variety of venues!
The Soviet Union: furniture, carpet, etc. The
linen is white, everything is clean and tidy. The smell of tobacco in the hallway. 4 stars for the lack of cold water in the room. Hot water flowed from all taps ( and even from the toilet). When asked to fix it, the plumber did not wait. Photos on the registan from the balcony are enlarged.
A very strange hotel
It's like everyone has forgotten about him and it seems the owners have given up on him altogether
Everything needs to be begged for a kettle a heater since the air conditioner did not work at all since the hot water was turned off
, I'm silent about the fact that I got sick there twice
The rooms are small
The water is hot, I don't say anything at all
I wish that the owners of this place have already paid attention to what is happening in the hotel otherwise you will lose all the guests
The rooms are terribly smoky with cigarettes as smoking is not prohibited there. Therefore, when you check in, you will feel the smell of the Soviet Union
The hotel is not bad, but now it is not up to par. Although the rooms are clean, it is quite cozy, but hot water hardly comes to the 8th floor. The breakfasts are just ridiculous. I have not seen such a service anywhere. But the view from the window is super
I was in a good opinion until this happened. As a rule, breakfast starts at 7:00.
We went to the buffet, but they wouldn't let us in, they said breakfast was at 7:30. But foreign visitors were having breakfast there.
Is this discrimination? Why can't we have breakfast with other people? We're not homeless to do that. I was as disappointed as possible by this action of the hotel. All good opinions were erased at once.
So I do not advise and I will put 1 star.
I do not recommend it. Breakfast is meager, cooked carelessly. There are Russian channels on the TV, but they are not turned on (blocked). The handle of the entrance door is broken (fixed after treatment)
You can live if it's not hot outside. There are no air conditioners! It is refreshing only to have a draft if you open the balcony and the front door.
The room is tired, but quite clean.
The staff is attentive.
We didn't go to breakfast, we were at dinner. Delicious!
Poor hotel. I just feel sorry for him. A beautiful building of the late Soviet period, somehow continuing its existence.
It would be a great place to upgrade it to modern ideas about a 4-star hotel. As it is, it's just sadness.

We arrived at the hotel at 2 am. Almost at 3. At the same time, the booking office warned that we would be late. No one answered. And they refused to check us in, saying that there were no rooms.
They refused to solve the issue of armor at the booking, and everything was paid for there.
Do not book this hotel if you do not want to spoil your vacation and waste your money.
It feels like this hotel is completely stuck in the 90s! The furniture in the rooms is old, basic things, water, kettle, coffee, cable TV... There is NO such thing!! There is no heating. The rooms are not cleaned at all. Do the maids work here at all and where are all these staff? There is no one at the reception)) The ghost Hotel! Service 0 "ZERO"!! Not even slippers))) I wonder if there are any administration and owners of this "hotel" at all??
I do not recommend it!
