During the 10 nights we spent there, we changed the bed once, you can't interrogate towels, there was no soap or gel, it's good that we took everything with us. Every day the lights were turned off at night until morning, it was impossible to store anything in the refrigerator, if you can call it that. There were problems with the TV every evening, if they turned to the receptionist on duty, it caused them dissatisfaction, they had to go down from the third floor several times and beg them to set up the TV. The staff is rude and unfriendly, as if we came to stay with them for free.
The pool is only large and beautiful in the advertising picture, in fact it was not on the territory of the hotel, which it does not have, but on the sixth floor, where their dining room is located. In the description of the hotel itself, the owners of the hotel indicated the pool and the territory of the neighboring Waterfall hotel. It was also pointed out that the sea is 500-600 meters away, but in fact the distance to the sea is two to two and a half times more. Walking back and forth for lunch every day in the heat is very tiring. Food: for breakfast, lunch and dinner it was all the same, there was practically no meat, except for chicken liver and stomachs, there were no desserts or fruits, there were practically no pastries either, coffee and tea bags, in general, the food was monotonous, there was practically no choice. There is no drinking water in the hotel to drink tea or coffee in the room, we bought five-liter balloons for 90-100 rubles from shops.
The beach is designed for 4 hotels, sun beds could be found if they came early, there was a problem with umbrellas, they were dismantled quickly, the shore and the sea were large pebbles. We were unlucky, out of 11 days, the sea was calm and clean, it was two or three days before lunch, the rest of the days it was stormy and the water was dirty, a lot of garbage was floating in the water. The water in the sea was cold, it was said that cold water flowed into it from the Novo-Athos reservoir. In general, the rest did not meet my expectations, we were there from August 14 to 24, paid a lot of money for two, but in the end there were only disadvantages. I will never come to this hotel again.
Among the advantages: location to the New Athos cave, railway station and waterfall
Cons: terrible food (ie, we have been living with a girl here for the 6th day, but we have never had enough in the dining room), sometimes, for lunch, there are delicious soups. But breakfast is a separate topic. The omelet is not made as it is, it is delicious, the sausages are the cheapest.
There was not enough refrigerator in the room, although it is in the description of the room.We went to the reception for 2 days, asked, but no one brought us anything. About cleaning the room. Only the garbage is taken out of the bathroom.
The accommodation in the rooms is expensive and the price does not match the quality of the hotel. I do not recommend choosing this hotel.

I liked the hotel. But it's a long way to the sea. It is exhausting to walk several times a day without a transfer, especially with a child. If there was a transfer, it would be better. The food was delicious, there was enough food. The room is not bad, but the trouble with the service is that you will not get towels and mats in the bathroom. Another of the disadvantages is that electricity was cut off almost every night, but this is not a claim to the hotel, but in principle to the republic)
We rested at this hotel from August 12 to 22, the cost per day was 8400r (as a result, we gave 84000r). For such money, I am shocked by the service of this hotel!
Plus just ONE:
* the location of the hotel (all the sights of the city are nearby - a waterfall, a monastery, a very beautiful railway station, a park, a gorge)
Otherwise, there are only disadvantages!
1. The food is worse than in boarding houses (breakfast is porridge all on water, instead of butter margarine, which is impossible to eat, sausages are served terrible, it is impossible to eat them, FROZEN tea bags are written on the package, even the cheapest LISMA; lunches and dinners are side dishes only - buckwheat, pasta, with chicken patties or chicken There were still tomatoes and cucumbers. AND NOTHING ELSE!!!
I am completely shocked by their "buffet elements"!
2. The room itself is a complete horror
• the TV does not work, Wi-Fi does not catch (they promised that they would solve it in a couple of days - they did not solve anything)
•the shower is broken - it leaks into the wall, the terrible smell of sewage is all over the room
*ONE of the 8 outlets is working!!! And on it we turned on the refrigerator, kettle, charged phones, laptops, asked three times to bring a tee at least, there was ZERO reaction!
* instead of a bed, there are 4 mattresses, and one side is hard as a board, the second one falls through, they are also different in height (photo attached)
* There are no hangers in the closet
* Towels are all in holes!!!
* They are cleaned terribly, the dust is wiped every other time, towels and bed linen were changed on the 6th day and then after our claim
* The dryer on the balcony is all rusty, there is nowhere to even hang things to dry
* The refrigerator barely works, all the food spoils the next day
* The pool when we arrived was terribly dirty, the water was muddy, cleaned before our departure
* For three days they asked us to open the safe, they didn't even do that to us
* The water is often turned off, either cold or hot, for two days we sat without water at all!!!
* There is mold in the air conditioner area!

We stayed at this hotel in 2021. The hotel itself is very nice...but the food and the staff..disappointed us. I rested in all the places of wonderful Abkhazia)) This hotel disappointed me. The food is terrible, hygiene.... this word is not familiar here at all. The trays in the dining room stink of dirty rags. If someone decides to go to this hotel, think again. In New Athos, you can have a good rest at the Griffin Hotel. This is really the place where everything is great: the hotel, the staff, the grounds and the restaurant.
We had a rest from July 26 to July 9. Completely shocked. We paid 74 thousand rubles for 13 nights, along with transfers from the hotel. We hoped to have a good rest and a nice meal for this money.

Before booking, I called the pool account, they said the water was heated, 25 degrees, as a result, the water was 14 degrees, even the walruses did not swim, the nights were cool, it cooled down, and the pool was under a canopy, it could not heat up during the day, the heater did not turn on. The receptionist is an unpleasant girl, I didn't want to rattle my nerves, I didn't find out anything, we left this hotel for the next one without living out the rest of the time. In fact, the hotel itself is good, a good place, a normal room stock, but it seems the manager just decided to make money for himself and he urgently needs to be changed before this hotel falls apart. The food is for an amateur. Buckwheat, pasta, sausages, boiled sausage, eggs and the like. If you are ready for such a menu on vacation, then OK. But it's delicious in Abkhazia. Eat at the cafe. There is no need to be afraid of the "dining room" sign. It's also delicious.

In N.Athos, the sea is dirty. In Pitsunda, it is transparent and always clean.

We checked in on tour. We arrived closer in the morning, the receptionist settled us in without any problems.
ABOUT THE HOTEL:
The staff is polite and courteous. We had 3 meals a day included. In general, the food is normal, such as canteen, soups, porridges, second course, salads, drinks. I would like a less greasy menu, but, I will make a reservation, these are only preferences related to the peculiarities of my gastrointestinal tract.
The room has a nice, beautiful renovation, but here is the toilet… Since we have a one-room room, the toilet door was light with frosted glass. It was a little shy to go to the toilet, as all the actions performed in it are clearly audible in the room. The hotel has a working elevator.
It is better to come to breakfast in advance, as there is a tendency for many to take away all the most delicious things completely, without thinking about other hotel guests. We arrived for breakfast, lunch and dinner in 15 minutes.
INFRASTRUCTURE:
It takes 10-15 minutes to walk along a straight road to the sea. Not uphill. There are markets with fruits and vegetables along the way. cafes with live music in the evenings. The food is delicious everywhere, you can choose any one. A park with a fountain.
All the sights of New Athos are concentrated near the hotel. We took an excursion to Apsua tour, I really liked it!It's worth a trip!

About the cons: the hotel was not ready to open from the word "at all". We arrived right at the end of dinner (already paid for, and the same lunch paid for that day). Should I say that they were going to feed us at least somehow upon arrival? Not) No one was worried about this, the dining room was closed, there was no cafe and room service at the hotel at all. They gave out a handwritten piece of paper with a spot on the canteen's operating mode. Well, all right. They settled in. The room is not small. But! There are only 2 ceiling lights in the room, one of which was simply missing, only a wire remained from it))) and they are installed near the entrance door. The rest of the lighting is a weak floor lamp on the table and bedside lamps. The room is like a cellar. In the bathroom there is an open roll of toilet paper and 2 towels, one of which is torn. There is a single soap dispenser in the shower, i.e. to wash your hands in the sink, you need to step into the shower room to extract soap))) naturally, no more one-time soaps and hygiene products. The brush is turned out of its attachment. And this despite the fact that the sink and toilet are Villeroy &Boch))) There is a kettle and 2 glasses in the room. There is no bottled water, tea, coffee, as well as tea cups) The bed was made, attention!, with a curtain)))) She even had a ribbon on her. Thanks for no rings or hooks))))) the bed is double, but it is made with 2 small sheets))) the bedside lamp has been "demolished", the carpet by the bed is also made of pieces. At the entrance, the carpet is stained, the grille is in some kind of blackness (either mold, or dirt). The closet is a separate story. To get something in it after sunset, you need to shine a flashlight from your phone, because there is not enough lighting for it at all. The view from the room is on some kind of concrete wall. Maybe there should have been a fence.
In general, we went down to the reception with a request to give more towels, toilet paper and put a light bulb on. The girls nodded, and we went to look for food. Upon returning, nothing has changed. In the morning, it was time to ask for a replacement number. They were even ready to pay extra. We were refused and did not do anything (Thanks to the maid we met, and who took care of us all the rest))) The elevator used to either not work, or was busy unloading food into the dining room during its work, when everyone needed it)))
About nutrition. Everything is edible, there is something to eat. We had enough. But again, a few BUTS. Firstly, the canteen's very inconvenient operating mode. Breakfast and lunch are too late and dinner is too early. Secondly, the monotony. There are no fruits at all, in the very season (From baking for breakfast, at best, croutons) Coffee is only 3in1. Even the simplest coffee machine or ready-brewed coffee would help improve the already "lame" service))) I liked porridge and cottage cheese for breakfast. We hardly went to dinners, we didn't like them. There was no choice at all. Lunches were also skipped a couple of times for the sake of variety in the cafe (lunches consisted of 2 soups, 2 hot and 1 side dish, sliced cucumber with tomato. Everything). At lunch, instead of sour cream, there was only mayonnaise. I'm not a fan, but I wanted sour cream for borscht and okroshka) The question is why did we take the food? In vain) We won't do it anymore)
One local taxi driver said that the owner of the hotel has several businesses in Moscow and Abkhazia. The question is - is it really impossible to take at least some example of service and bring it to this hotel?! This hotel could really pull off a good rating if it had a good manager/host. The staff is friendly. There is simply no head or willing to do something. It is a pity that in just 3 years the hotel has come to such a state, and for several months of the absence of visitors this season, no one bothered to eliminate all the "jambs". I have a lot to compare it with, a lot to compare it with. There were both good and bad placement experiences.
Summary: Abkhazia is an incredibly beautiful country. People are kind and hospitable. But there is no service. Will we come again? Definitely yes! But no way to this hotel. We'd better choose the private sector. At least we won't expect something wow))) If you know where to go, you can eat sooo tasty and inexpensive in a cafe.

We bought a tour to Abkhazia and to this "wonderful hotel"! It's hard to find words to describe our stay there (we were with our new husband). Since then, this sign has been hanging constantly! I can describe this terrible hotel for a long time, the only thing that pleased me was the clear sea, in 5 days we bought up and left the hotel 5 days earlier, leaving them our money as a gift, let them at least buy a curtain for the bathroom! Terrible hotel, does not match the declared quality at all. The food is just disgusting, lean, tasteless, monotonous. The rooms are padded, in our room instead of a bed there are two mattresses placed on top of each other and there are missing pieces of furniture declared in the room initially, they asked the reception to bring them since they wrote and as you can guess, no one brought anything, they asked several times and except "yes now" they did not receive anything, I strongly advise this hotel
We stayed at this hotel in June 2021. I have not seen a worse hotel, staff relations and food. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!!! All the positive reviews are registered, no one in their right mind will go there a second time. For the first three days at least, the guests are simply shocked by the conditions. If you want to eat egg-fried bread and rollton broth EVERY DAY, you are welcome.
Friendly staff, nice clean rooms, clean and change the towel every other day, not far from the sea, there are many attractions around, we rested for 12 days, went on only one excursion, went somewhere all the time: New Athos monastery, Stalin's cottage, waterfall, cave, grotto of the Apostle Simon, nature reserve, etc. In general, there is something to see!!!
The only thing that I didn't really like was the food, although they were fed three times, but it was very monotonous and everything was mostly fried and in oil, there were no fruits and rarely fresh vegetables (
But in general, we were satisfied, out of 10 points -9!
I didn't like the menu in the dining room-there was never a normal piece of meat, some "spare parts" from chickens every day, sausages "dog's joy"....Of course, they lasted 10 days, but they were also poorly fed in the "Homeland" (they went with the girls who lived there).
The food is bad. The same thing is of low quality. An unlimited amount of chemicals is added to the pool. Lights and water are turned off regularly. It's clean for that.
