Great location! There are different levels of rooms. I noticed for myself that the higher the floor, the more comfortable the rooms. The breakfasts are very good!
Good, stable 4. There are a number of disadvantages - the key one is that there is no possibility to order something for dinner/snack in the lobby during possible negotiations. The organization of this space does not bring the necessary efficiency to the owner and does not create an atmosphere of comfort for guests and those who come.
We must definitely stop here. We lived on the 25th floor. The noise from the bar was audible, but not critically. The rooms are not bad! The breakfasts are excellent! We highly recommend it!
Nice hotel. The room is small but cozy. A king-size bed with a good orthopedic mattress and excellent linen. In the second room there is a small sofa, a bed for a child and a wardrobe. The bathroom space is not very comfortable (for people with non-standard dimensions, this can create a problem). Room cleaning is at a high level. A separate respect for breakfast is a very varied menu and very tasty dishes. In general, the feeling of staying at the hotel is the most pleasant. Many thanks to everyone who makes the stay of the guests so comfortable.
Convenient location. Beautiful view from the window. It's a good room, but the water may suddenly run out and no one warns you.A good breakfast, but there is not enough space for breakfast, after 9 o'clock people walk with plates in search of a place. It is not possible to sleep, there is a disco under the windows, almost until the morning, everything can be heard in the room.
The legendary hotel, the symbol of Almaty, excellent location, lived in a room with a view of Koktobe, room stock with Soviet renovation, this is both a plus and a minus of this hotel, gives a certain entourage to this building! In general, you need to visit at least once!
The rooms were different, the first time for 4, the second for 4.8; the breakfasts are delicious, the menu is large with a national flavor; the staff is very polite; the view from any room to the mountains (this is how the hotel is built), the view, especially in the morning is gorgeous
A very good hotel in the city Center! It rises majestically above the adjacent buildings, which makes it possible for those living on the upper floors, regardless of the time of day, to enjoy beautiful views of the city, and if you are lucky with the room, then the mountains! There is a view restaurant on the 25th floor. Downstairs there is a great lobby with a bar "San Francisco" and a well-coordinated reception. A system of access to the floors has been thought out - anyone who does not pass to the top without your knowledge. The rooms, even the standard ones, are spacious and clean. The air conditioning system works fine, although in cool weather it will be better with an open window. Wi-fi is easy to access and works properly throughout the hotel without glitch or malfunction. Breakfasts are a topic of special delight! In short, a very varied and hearty buffet. Despite the relatively small number of tables (in relation to the number of rooms in the hotel), nevertheless, there are always free tables, since the staff clearly monitors the vacated tables and instantly brings them to a clean appearance. For those who want to refresh themselves, there is an exit to the outdoor terrace. I recommend it!
A good hotel, in a very interesting architectural style for its time. It's more or less civilized inside. Geographically, the place is not bad. There is a good view from the upper floors. Of the cons. The card did not work when checking in, it was flashed. It's unclear what's wrong with the elevators, there seem to be a lot of them, but you can wait a long time. The feeding is not very good, with a friend who roasts omelets and scrambled eggs, we need to work on the technique. Well, the main claim, for which I put 4 stars and not 5. This is 1 toilet cubicle on the ground floor, on a 25-storey hotel.. Which is always busy, and I had to go from the bar to the room on the 24th floor
Excellent modern hotel. Everything is at the highest level, from the reception to the room, the staff is polite, they clean every day. Location in the very center, everything is within walking distance, there are many cafes and restaurants nearby. And plus a very beautiful view of the mountains from the window.
The lobby is very beautiful. Outside: the real Soviet chic of the Brezhnev era. Inside there is an ultramodern and beautiful renovation of the Four Seasons level. Smiling receptionists, seductive, bored-looking natives behind the bar. If in Almaty, then in Kazakhstan)
I have stayed here 4 times in the last 2 years. And the opinion is spoiling, unfortunately…
I want to add right away that breakfast, restaurants, cleaning - everything is fine.
Questions about placement…
The first two times - perfectly and without complaints.
The third one was given a two-room room (I booked a double standard), alas, I will not remember the floor, but a frank "scoop" with a characteristic smell of dampness. Without air conditioning and with screaming musicians under the windows…
The fourth time surpassed all the previous ones. We were settled for 3 nights in one junior suite room (condey is only in a room where there is no bedroom), then moved to the Queen Suite ... that is of course gorgeous, although there is no condey in the bedroom anyway. But you know what the surprise is? The "upgrade" of the room was to the floor where repairs are underway in the corridor. Well, that is, complete and capital, where forests, concrete and plaster. You go to your chic-shine on dust and construction debris 🤦♂️ So be careful to the 17th floor. At least in the next couple of months, you'll catch my misunderstanding there.
Nevertheless, the location is excellent, the historical building and for sure I will stay here again, I will give a chance to correct the spoiled opinion with the hope that everything will be repaired…
I would like to advise the hotel to warn guests about such surprises with construction sites and give them a choice.
And yes, the view from the windows is extraordinary, and the Fly Bar on the 26th floor is a magical place.
This is a business card of the city of Almaty, located in the heart of the city, at the intersection of Dostyk and Abaya streets, very convenient location, beautiful interior, polite staff, delicious food, very satisfied
Probably one of the most famous hotels in Kazakhstan. Excellent breakfast. At night, the hotel is beautifully illuminated and visible from afar. The room is not bad at all.
In general, everything is fine. Convenient location. Budget prices for a standard room. Clean, cleaned regularly. The building is from the Soviet past, but well maintained. For business trips, this is the best option.
Excellent hotel in the very center of Almaty. The building is not new, the windows are wooden, not plastic, but everything inside is in excellent order, well renovated and the age of the building is almost not felt. The rooms are neat and clean. The windows overlook either the mountains or Almaty itself. The buffet breakfast is very good and varied. On the ground floor, near the entrance, an employee is constantly standing and conducting face control of incoming calls. The hotel costs the money that is being asked for it.
It's just an iconic building. The rooms are a little tired, but everything is clean and the view of the mountains is gorgeous. The breakfasts are delicious.
I visited Almaty for the first time, and Kazakhstan too. The hotel Kazakhstan was easily booked immediately, from the moment of its selection, ordered on the website. No intrusive offers, documents were promptly sent. Subsequently, at the reception, that feeling from the moment of booking has already passed into the present. Polite staff, pleasant service. I recommend not to give up breakfast at the hotel, it is very tasty, varied and tables on the second floor overlooking the hall, the entrance group. The rooms are clean, they take care of cleanliness every day. Due to its location in the city, the hotel is also conveniently located. There is a bus stop opposite, from where you can get to Medeo. There is also a cable car available, from which you can see the city of Almaty, surrounded by mountains. Beauty! If only the weather would allow you to enjoy the beauty, cloud cover is quite common, but it does not reduce your good mood.
A hotel with good breakfasts, courteous staff and the possibility of checking in earlier for an additional fee if a room is available
The reception area is incredibly beautiful and comfortable, which does not interfere at all with the interiors of both floors and rooms
Inside, on the ground floor there is a cozy cafe, as well as a souvenir shop, where the best gifts of Kazakhstan have been painstakingly selected. Highly recommended!
The window first had a view of the micro mountain, and then a couple of hours later the majestic peaks appeared. True magic!
I'm just in love with this hotel, a earthquake-resistant building from Soviet times, is a landmark of the southern capital. BUT there is not even a smell of a "scoop" there, from the upper floors and the restaurant there is a magnificent view of the mountains, the city itself, and the NIGHT ALMATY is simply amazing, excellent breakfasts for every taste from porridge and cottage cheese to fried eggs with sausages, from pancakes to meringue, from fresh strawberries to pickled cucumbers. VERY polite staff speaking 2 or more languages, there are always a lot of foreigners among the guests.
A very beautiful hotel, I remember it from childhood, the symbol of Alma-Ata. They also talk great inside, I can't say for sure, but for me this is one of the attractions.
Convenient location. Attentive and friendly staff 👍
A varied and delicious breakfast. The rooms are clean and spacious. A great souvenir shop. Great view from the window!
The hotel is at a height, the view from the window of the 25th floor is amazing! the room is large, comfortable, the bed is very comfortable, the food is excellent, the service is very friendly and responsive.
Of the cons, I personally did not have enough light where the table is a mirror, it is too dark to use for work.
Otherwise, everything is very wonderful. I will definitely come back.
We stayed at the hotel in 2022. At that time, there were no complaints about the room, it was clean, the sets and tea were reported during cleaning, the breakfasts were excellent. When booking, we asked for a room with a mountain view, if possible, the request was satisfied, which we were very happy about :)
The only minus was that we were in a private car, parking was free for guests, we left the car number at the reception several times, but when leaving the territory we were asked to pay the parking bill all the time, we had to figure it out and spending time to prove that we are guests and we don't need to pay anything.
And so a great option to stay in Almaty, we recommend it!
An atmospheric place to stay at least for a couple of nights. Life here is in full swing 24/7.
The hotel is not new, you can hedge by choosing a superior room, not a standart. On high floors, you have to wait for hot water (up to 10 minutes at peak time). Comfortable beds and pillows, the bathroom is compact, there are not enough hooks for towels and a bathrobe. Cleaning depends on the maids on shift.
Friendly reception staff, but with a large number of guests at the same time at the counter, you have to wait a long time for a free employee. Great breakfast. There is a good coffee shop in the lobby. There are restaurants in the hotel building, including round-the-clock Noodles.
Indeed, it can be noisy from music from the street, especially if there is a concert nearby on the square, but no music from the bar on the top floor interfered (I lived on the 19th floor).
The location of the hotel is obviously excellent.
A large and slightly strange Soviet-style hotel. Homer's rooms are spacious-but nothing more. The view is almost absent, since everything was transported with concrete fences, it may be worth visiting for the entourage, but in general there are many other, more interesting options in the city.
The hotel is good. Price is quality. Regardless of the room level, cleaning is equally good. The rooms have everything you need, change of towels and bed linen every day. Also in the rooms there are bathrobes, slippers, shaving and dental kits, shampoo, gel, etc. Separately, I would like to mention very good breakfasts, which are included in the price. Buffet, you won't leave hungry. The staff is friendly and courteous.
Everything is cool! We did not have a very large room-21m, but with a view of the mountains, a tower on the kok tobe mountain! It's really cool! The square below and the main attractions are within walking distance.cool restaurants above and below))
The main problem is the sound from the clubs at night! He is very audible! We closed the windows and slept in earplugs)) although at first we danced in the same clubs!wooden window frames-sound insulation 0
I really liked the hotel, despite the fact that there is a lot left in it from Soviet times, but at the same time, excellent cuisine, beautiful views from the restaurant, clean rooms and price / quality in general for 5!!!
Happy with the hotel!!)
That 's why it 's a classic !!!
The prices are acceptable, the staff of any category is friendly and, if necessary, they will always help and prompt :)
The rooms are nice and the view is always beautiful :)
I really liked this hotel. The hotel building is considered, if I am not mistaken, a masterpiece of Soviet architecture (the times when the Kazakh SSR was part of the RSFSR). Good location. Clean, modern rooms, a variety of buffet breakfasts, friendly staff!
A good, cozy hotel of Soviet times-it feels like) the room stock is no longer the freshest, but this does not spoil the overall impression of the service, delicious breakfasts and generally quite a comfortable atmosphere
We lived on the 22nd floor. The room is excellent, the service is decent. The restaurant on the 26th floor was captivated by the views and taste. I'll come again.
The hotel is located in a beautiful location. The view from the room is gorgeous.
On the plus side: a great buffet, the staff is responsive.
And "not pluses": the price for the room is high, slightly overestimated, the renovation is long-standing and everything in the room is not quite fresh, bathroom and toilet. If it wasn't for the price, then you can safely put 5 stars, as well as 4.
I like the hotel.
We stay there on business trips.
There are no complaints.
The staff is polite and helpful.
There are cafes and shops nearby.
There is an opportunity to walk around the beautiful places.
The restoration of the building has modernized this hotel!!
There are always many guests, many tenants, many meetings!!
Each floor has its own life!!
There is a coffee shop and recreation facilities in Loba!
I use it for meetings!!
This is the story. When it was built by the Japanese, it was the tallest building in the country. It was built using Japanese technology and is very earthquake-resistant, or so they say.I hope the tremors of January 2024 did not damage this hotel.
The staff, service, food is on the level, the rooms are recently renovated and old, everything is fine in the new ones, we got one and our friends were less lucky there was an old room with a strange unpleasant smell, we were lucky to get 5 stars
The rooms have excellent views of the mountains and the city, the service is normal and did not need anything. Breakfast is a buffet of fresh fruits, steamed vegetables, etc., and desserts seem to be downwind. The rooms are clean, but the mirrors in the elevator are dusty (you can write messages) :)
A legendary hotel, there is a restaurant on the ground floor, the interior design was modernized several years ago, some floors are rented for commerce, such as podcast studios, tour agencies, etc. nearby there is all the necessary infrastructure in terms of recreation, shopping, bars and cafes!
Top location, but the hotel itself is old Soviet. Gatherings of street racers and incomprehensible people are not uncommon under the windows, but on the other hand, the exits from the rooms from high floors are excellent, as are the breakfasts.
The norm. Built in Soviet times, but well preserved and maintained, good breakfast. Great location. Reasonable price. Could it be better? Exactly, yes, there are scuffs, but tolerable, clean. But the smell suggests that once there was smoking in the rooms
I recommend.
The hotel is average. The hot water in the shower does not come immediately, you need to wait a minute. There are no more disadvantages. The coolest thing about this hotel is breakfast! Everything is very tasty and there is a huge selection!
A great hotel, I have already stayed twice in this department, I was satisfied with everything. It can be noted that the location is very convenient for rest and walking:Kok Tobe, Medeo nearby, and a beautiful view from the window.
The hotel is beautiful from the outside, beautiful lobby, excellent breakfasts. But the rooms, of course, are already outdated, but the price is appropriate. The location in the city is the best you can think of, everything is close, beautiful views from the window.
An amazing hotel. The breakfasts are at the level of a 5-star hotel, everything is clean, polite and friendly. A wonderful restaurant with a view of the city!
