An amazing place created by nature. There is a funnel about 100 meters deep in the sea. Somewhere in the depths there is an arch, an exit from the funnel. This place was not a tourist place before, professionals were diving here. The place is dangerous, there are many memorial slabs on the rock. We were told that the local authorities had forbidden the installation of new memorial plaques in order not to frighten tourists.
Recently, you can come here as part of an excursion group. There are simple dirty cafes on the shore, there is a small hotel. You can go diving, there is a diving center. The water is entered from the shore, there are several places, there are also bridges. But when entering both from the shore and from the bridges, immediately there is an abyss. I felt creepy and scared, even though I was wearing a mask and a vest. The abyss is frightening. I began to choke a little. But if you take off the mask and do not look down, you can cut yourself on a vertical coral reef, it also became scary to sail away from the shore.
I remembered about the wall with memorial plaques...
well, it's a lyric. There are instructors, tourists just take up a lifebuoy and swim quietly along the reef with the instructor. Which I did later. I just told the instructor that I swim well and will explore the underwater world on my own.
To be honest, the underwater world did not impress me. I saw small fish, ordinary corals and an abyss that scared me. This is a diving place. Snorkeling impressed me much more in the Ras Mohammet Nature Reserve or on the Farsha beach.
A must-visit for all lovers of watching the underwater world of the sea. Delight! A giant sinkhole in the coral reef off Dahab. The purest water. There is a huge variety and number of fish and corals. When you enter the water through a special crevice between the corals, the insane beauty of the underwater world opens up. The depth increases dramatically further, the abyss is below, very impressive. I've been here twice, and I really liked it both times. The place is a magnet for divers from all over the world. There is a monument to the dead divers on the shore, cafes. They take you here on excursions, take flippers and a mask with you, you won't regret it. You will be shocked. From there, you can see the shores of Saudi Arabia on the other side of the Gulf of Aqaba.
Beautiful sea, underwater reefs. The beauty is incredible. The water is excellent, we swam with a child without wetsuits in January - we didn't freeze. Experienced swimmers and guides will support those who swim poorly and tell you a lot of interesting things. But be careful in the cafe on the shore, they steal.
