Convenient location. The Oktoberfest venue is nearby, there are good hotels, cafes, restaurants, and attractions. There are storage rooms, food stalls, and a toilet at the train station itself. Everything is quite civil.
Nice train station. Big and beautiful.
But at the entrance to the station building, vague personalities are rubbing shoulders, to put it mildly. It's generally dangerous in the evening. The building smells of urine at the entrance. Question. Where the police are looking. Yeah, well, Paris, it's been like that for a long time, but it's strict Germany.
The station as a train station, the renovation lasts from about 2022. In 2025, there are fewer homeless people compared to previous years. Finally, the Ukrainian flags were removed.
It's a big train station, but everything is logically located, we didn't have any problems. In general, like all big train stations. It is clean and tidy enough. We took sandwiches there on a trip - everything is fresh and delicious. The only thing worth writing about is so that our people do not forget that in Germany the same train can go in different directions - that is, it says on the scoreboard that the Munich - Salzburg train will depart from platform 3, it also says that the Munich - Dusseldorf train (for example) It will also depart from platform 3. And here you have to be careful, this is one train, only the front part of the train goes to Salzburg, and the back part of the train detaches along the way and goes to Dusseldorf. Before getting on the car, you need to see which train number is written on this car to avoid unpleasant surprises. The same applies when traveling from Munich to the airport, on the S7 train, it seems, at some time, two cars from this train are uncoupled on the road and they go the other way. You also need to be careful not to go to some other city instead of the airport.
After a long pause, I had to fly to Munich again (on business)! Guys, compared to what happened in 2016-2019, it's just trash! There is dirt all around, a lot of homeless people, drunk and just poor people who are rummaging in trash cans (among them, there are a lot of elderly people)! The "islands" where you could buy coffee or something to eat have disappeared somewhere! Maybe some went bankrupt? But there were none! But, there were a lot of "refugees" from the square! Where without them! Well, the German railway itself (Deutsche Bahn), it became just a disaster! Almost ALL (I'm not exaggerating) trains are sometimes late, sometimes canceled!
The station is currently undergoing a complete renovation of the main building. I am sure that as soon as the renovation is completed, it will be a very modern super thoughtful building of the city infrastructure. But while this process is underway, I recommend setting + 10 minutes of time to search for trains and platforms. Please note that trains to Salzburg and non-Swiss flights depart from platforms 1-10, which is another + 5 minutes minimum walk to them. There are wild queues at the customer service center, where you can spend an hour waiting. There are many ticket vending machines on the platform and in the underground part of the station, including for cash. There are also many options in the underground lobby to buy food for the road or have a snack, including taking ready-made food with you. Have a good trip and plan your routes in advance, taking into account train delays. In Germany, they now drive as they want, the fewer transfers, the higher the chance of arriving on time
Munich Main Station we went to Nuremberg in Germany, trains are often delayed, you need to have an ida, but in principle everything can be bought, food and toilets are all available
The caste is on the left to go to a separate room with coupons
It's a very confusing train station, sometimes the entrances to the RER are blocked and you get confused right away.
There are many places to eat, but to be honest, I was squeamish.
The area around does not shine either, in general, if you are for the first time, I advise you to go out in advance, sometimes it looks like Ukraine, not Germany
Everything is conveniently organized, except that not everything is translated into English.\ It was very difficult to figure out the ticket vending machines - which zone to buy at what price. But they managed. 20 minutes)))
It reminded me a little of the Kazan railway station in Moscow. But only a little. During the days of Oktoberfest, it is filled with drunk people in Bavarian national costumes traveling to different parts of Bavaria.
A great train station. There is a luggage storage, many cafes and eateries. Interesting souvenir shops. But unfortunately, it happens that trains are delayed or flights are postponed.
I put 5 points only for the city itself. The station, it seemed to me, needed more and more modern for this city (especially since it was only recently commissioned), although it copes with its functions.
It is obligatory to visit because of the excellent beer, local cuisine (just so that there is something to tell about later), local residents in national clothes, an orchestra playing German "beer" marches and just for the sake of a great mood. There are usually no places to find, but after making a couple of laps around the huge hall for 1,500 people, you can sit down. All tables are shared - it's not usual, but after a couple of mugs it's already the norm)
Beer costs an average of 10 euros per liter, and the kitchen costs 10-15 euros per dish. Impressions and mood are priceless!
If you have been to Munich and have not been to this pub, a bar with a century-old history, then you have lost a lot. This is truly one of the sights of Munich.
Shared tables for 8 people, even if a company of 6 people is sitting at the table, you can safely sit down, this is approved here. A live orchestra, delicious beer, choral singing from the visitors will create an unforgettable feeling of celebration and erase political and racial tensions, at least for the duration of the visit. It is required to visit.
A large clean train station with a huge number of cafes and shops. There are 2 supermarkets. All the inscriptions are clear. Ticket machines in different languages. We went from/to the airport, as well as to Fussen castles.
The train station is convenient enough for non-German speakers. Despite the fact that there are some repairs nearby, there is always a place for passengers to disembark and unload luggage. There is an Osteria with good Italian cuisine at the station. You can enter with suitcases. To visit the toilet, you need to find out the lock code from the waiter.
A comfortable TPU with a huge catering area where you can pass the time before your trip. Both classic fast food and a cozy seafood restaurant are presented here.

The train station in Munich does not look very good now, but there is a restructuring around, without closure! They say it will be very beautiful. I must say that it is very convenient even now, you can figure out and buy a ticket where you need to, and Russian-speaking citizens too.
An ordinary German train station. There are signs everywhere, everything is signed, vending machines with several languages. It seemed to us that even a tourist who arrived for the first time would not get lost. What else do you need?) You have to be careful with things, a lot of people are incomprehensible.
It's a very big train station, it's easy to get confused. Pointers are often incomprehensible, the logic is unusual. You can go anywhere in Europe. There are plenty of places to eat. Toilet 1€.
Everything is very convenient and simple. It's clear. The city center. I usually take a commuter train here and go downstairs. All the pointers are there.
Trains to anywhere in Bavaria and beyond, an informative scoreboard, transfers to the s-bahn and u-bahn. The shops at the train station are open even when they are closed all over the city, for example on holidays.
The train station is very clear, the schedule and departure board are clear without additional explanations, there are ticket offices and lots of food, free wi-fi is available!
It is simply unrealistic to leave your luggage in the luggage room. Almost half of them are just broken, and there are no ads or warnings. People torment these cameras, not understanding how they should work.
