Nice train station. Big and beautiful.
But at the entrance to the station building, vague personalities are rubbing shoulders, to put it mildly. It's generally dangerous in the evening. The building smells of urine at the entrance. Question. Where the police are looking. Yeah, well, Paris, it's been like that for a long time, but it's strict Germany.
The station is currently undergoing a complete renovation of the main building. I am sure that as soon as the renovation is completed, it will be a very modern super thoughtful building of the city infrastructure. But while this process is underway, I recommend setting + 10 minutes of time to search for trains and platforms. Please note that trains to Salzburg and non-Swiss flights depart from platforms 1-10, which is another + 5 minutes minimum walk to them. There are wild queues at the customer service center, where you can spend an hour waiting. There are many ticket vending machines on the platform and in the underground part of the station, including for cash. There are also many options in the underground lobby to buy food for the road or have a snack, including taking ready-made food with you. Have a good trip and plan your routes in advance, taking into account train delays. In Germany, they now drive as they want, the fewer transfers, the higher the chance of arriving on time
