It is not cozy, repairs are required inside and outside. Garbage is not taken out all the time. It's a shame that in such a city the Central Market is in such an unsightly state.
It's a so-so place, I returned to the 90s, especially the indoor market, can't the light be made brighter inside, the whole trade is in the dark.Make civil counters for people and they will come to you.
What a cool flavor here and what kind of sincere people. And what spices, and what nuts. Tangerines are something incredibly delicious!!! Must-visit)))
Prices do not differ from prices in Moscow, which is strange, fruits grow here. Churchkhela is generally more expensive than in Moscow. Plus, they poisoned themselves after visiting the market
The market of the country of the soul) chacha on the second floor is mandatory for consumption. It is a pity that there is not the scope that fifteen years ago, when there were rows of inexpensive fruits, milk, etc. Now all the places are apparently expensive, there are no locals who made matsoni and brought ten glasses to sell. But everything is atmospheric.

the market, compared to 2022, has ground up a lot of empty places, but, most importantly, they have not stopped deceiving))
The best cheese is from granny, who stands opposite the entrance, to the left of all.
The woman who sits to the right of the entrance to the second floor cheats on the amounts of horror - cucumbers 50 rubles, tomatoes-250 rubles, we take everything for 1 kg, we count 450 rubles, I give 550 rubles, they give me change 50 rubles and they talk very hard) But my husband and I have a position that sometimes we give grandmothers more on purpose, but such a brazen deception left an unpleasant aftertaste.
Of the advantages for a souvenir, they made "discounts", the prices are much lower than street prices. But for food: while the grandmother was packing the churchkhela, I missed 3 pieces at home as a result, fruits: fermented figs, peaches managed to put rotten, oak feijoa. The cheese is white, bland, but in fact over-salted. I liked smoked cheese and blackberry and tangerine juices. Obviously they weigh down, probably they should be worn without a change.
The market is a must-visit attraction.
Try, bargain, communicate - I think everyone will find an exotic taste of Abkhazia.
Tip: be sure to take hot pita bread in an inconspicuous place at the exit (ask the locals)!
An ordinary city market. The prices are biting. Apparently in the season, sellers are trying to squeeze the maximum out of vacationers. Even fruits are expensive. Watermelon per kilo at a price more expensive than in Moscow.
There are gypsy women there, they hang red ropes on the arm of the vacationers who are gawking, they begin to wind them quickly on their hand, they sentence them like from the evil eye .... then they voice the amount, from which you want to faint right away. Some ask a thousand, some one and a half for a thread. In, business arranged! So, be on the alert and immediately stop it. Let them hang these strings for themselves ....
The market is very large, you get tired of walking along all the rows, a wide variety of local goods and souvenirs. The market building itself is in need of repair and restoration, I do not advise you to go to the toilet
Such a market. All sellers have the same thing. There is almost no meat. And none of the sellers are haggling. It is unrealistic to get a discount for a large purchase.
It seems that we were not badly shortchanged and weighed down here)) The market is interesting, colorful, reasonable prices, a lot of interesting things. Wine is not wine, some kind of alcoholic body, I do not recommend it, although you can drink it and not even get drunk. There are a lot of spices, a good choice of tea. It feels like we've been to the post-Soviet market) People are good, sociable.
Everything is so expensive, it's a shame. We found a shop with wholesale prices nearby. Cheese was bought in pyaterochka. But there is a box with sweets, so delicious, we took sherbet for tea there every day, I have never tasted tastier. It was cheaper in Adler.
A very unpleasant impression, I bought sweets, a lot of different, I started with sherbet, everything was weighed, counted, put in a bag, I found the absence of sherbet at home, the scales on the shelves with information from the buyer are simply glued, hung at every step, wine in factory bottles of the same variety can cost 700 and 300 rubles, spices do not buy with salt, this is a deception, a mixture of salt and the same spices, there is always some kind of swearing between local sellers men and women, all homemade wine and chacha for bottling is fake, there are not as many grapes in the whole republic as wine is sold in this market, in places where fish and meat are sold, flies they fly in a "bee" swarm, no one wants to bargain, sellers are not inferior in price at all or how.
The market is designed for a stupid tourist, so they are trying to get into the market more expensive than in small shops in the city! In September 2023, for example, Sukhumi ice cream in a waffle cup for 40 rubles, and I know where for 25. Chapman cigarettes cost 200, and I know where 160. I bought some kind of melon, but it turned out to be rotten at all.
The market is indispensable for those who want to feel like in the nineties. I was showing the children how we lived in my childhood, when we were measuring clothes, standing on a cardboard box, and the seller was covering. Between the unproductive rows, dirt, cigarette butts, that's all.
1 visit is enough to get bored and never come back.
I've visited it many, many times. The market is dirty, inconvenient, and unsettled. Most of the fruits and vegetables are either imported or overbought. The prices are appropriate. Nevertheless, thanks to tourists, trade is brisk.
Prices are more expensive than in Moscow, to buy something, you need to look for it from the garden, well, come early, and they sell imported goods, although you can grow everything yourself.
So-so market. Very small. I came hoping to buy good local products. They cheated on the blue eye. Ajika was divorced with something cheap. Absolutely not burning.
Elsewhere, they sold pomegranate juice of the 100% type and without sugar - in fact, they could not drink it.
It depends very much on the sellers. I was unlucky. And how to guess them if you see them for the first time.
This market is not worth visiting. It's better in Adler.

Laughed with my husband to tears, already at home. We came from the Rostov region and bought in Abkhazia, our own Taganrog cured sausage in tridoroga (only at home we noticed a barely noticeable logo on the wrapper "Taganrog sausages" We bought rotten hazelnuts for 150 rubles., although we tried before buying, we arrived and there 20% of 100 only normal hazelnuts.Peaches for 200 rubles / kg. Cotton wool is cotton wool, not juicy at all, although they look beautiful (apparently imported). The season of unsuccessful purchases, on the way home in a Hot key, chanterelles were sold (generally tasteless) in a bucket, on which a package was stretched in such a way that there was a void between the package and the bottom, in short, the visibility would be full, but in fact, a third empty.Be careful, and dogwood is also sold!
Maybe he used to be like in the picture. It's dirty now, even though it's food grade. We hope that you will get better. There are prerequisites for this.
Be careful of being fooled
We paid for tangerines for 3 kilos, outweighed them on our scales by 1 kilo less
And they don't have tangerines in July, but they say I keep them in the basement especially all winter
A small market in the resort town.
Inside, as usual, it is beautiful and expensive. It's a little cheaper and easier on the outside. You can find delicious and interesting things in the season.
