The Indian food is great, the service is also cool and the waiters are wonderful (courteous and delicate), the atmosphere is cozy and unobtrusive. As a local, I really love this place. And, rarely, there are vegetarian dishes.
It's a very atmospheric place. We looked at the lamplighter
The girl Maria is just space. She is sweet, smiling and responsive, will help with the choice of dishes. Chocolate fondue is very tasty! The feed is fast. I advise everyone to visit this place
The menu is varied, there is a lot to eat. Everything was cooked delicious. But they cooked for a very long time.
There were four of us, and we ordered 3 Caesar salads with shrimp and 1 with chicken. It seemed that the cook first went to catch a live chicken to cook. And then I went to catch shrimp somewhere.
Verdict: the food is delicious, but very long. So you can't have a quick snack here.
A wonderful, very atmospheric place with a variety of delicious dishes.
If you come here at the right time, you can see Viktor Petrovich Kirisyuk lighting a kerosene lantern right in the cafe. The lighting time of the lanterns can be found on the corresponding sign near the cafe.
The prices correspond to the city center, not cheap, but also not super expensive. The interior is pleasant, the music is unobtrusive, background. We took different pancakes, everything is very tasty, I highly recommend it. The vegetables in the pan were brought completely unfinished, I had to ask them to redo it. Drinking is normal, not bad, not good. They forgot about one tea at all, but they included it in the receipt. They referred to a large number of visitors, although I would not say that there were a lot of people. But the waiter and the receptionist were polite. The place is great for a pleasant pastime, but with flaws
It was very atmospheric - at 21.30 the lamplighter came. The cuisine is authentic Indian (spicy) and Belarusian. They cook for a long time but very tasty. In other establishments, they cook quickly, but from the microwave. We were in no hurry, so we liked everything! I recommend it!
Everything is fine, the dishes are delicious, the waitress girls and the administrators are well done. A flashlight comes to light a lantern right in the cafe, you can also sit on a cozy enclosed veranda in the cold season. The only thing that ruined the evening were the grandmothers, flower sellers, who come right into the cafe and ask visitors to buy flowers.
Prices are several times higher than the quality of food and drinks, nothing was liked from the ordered dishes, neither draniki with trout, nor pasta carbonara ((( cocktails are also not tasty, the amount of the latter is not determined at all in alcoholic beverages, and the children's Bubble Gum turned out to be a simple uninteresting compote, any juice would be tastier! A very small summer porch. They served for a long time, dirty dishes were not taken away until the very end. At the next table, it was cleared away half an hour later, after the guests had left. The only plus is the location and the lamplighter who comes directly to the cafe. And I also liked the singer - a gorgeous voice!
I'm telling it like it is, without exaggeration. This is the first time with me personally.
1. Maintenance. Our table was served by 4 different waiters! I don't know what's going on at the table at all ...
2. They brought soups, but they didn't bring a spoon ...
3. Tea. The menu says a kettle of 400 ml, but in fact there is no more than 250-300 ml, and it costs so decently
4. There were no napkins and salt at the table
5. The most unpleasant thing is that all the dishes were brought at different times. One of our guests ordered fish and side dish separately. The side dish was brought, there was no fish. The vegetables had cooled down, the fish had not been brought, they were asked to warm them up, and they were taken away to warm them. They brought fish, but no vegetables! It's absurd..
I'm already silent about the cooking time, I understand everything, the place is small and the number of waiters is not small, but the receipt was brought the fastest. In short, it is very unpleasant, 1 star only for the taste of food
Good service, delicious pancakes and an entourage person comes and lights a lantern inside the institution (a local celebrity), I advise everyone to visit this institution, it is very interesting!
I was walking around the city and just came in for a coffee. I liked the name. It's probably not bad here in summer, there's a veranda. I ordered a cappuccino. It was very average, there was almost no foam, the coffee itself was ordinary without frills. The interior is pleasant, the staff are good-natured. An amateur institution.
Cool cafe , delicious desserts, interesting serving of desserts and drinks. Dessert a flower in a pot is really made in a flower pot. But there are tastier desserts there, I don't remember the name, I'm attaching a photo
Everything was delicious for us. The waitress is very attentive. Plus of this cafe, a lamplighter goes inside the establishment, lights a lantern, and you will have a unique opportunity to take a picture with him inside) The main crowd running after the lamplighter usually does not enter the cafe.
A good cafe. Delicious food, everything is fresh. However, the service is very strange. I had to call the waiter to give the menu, bring napkins (!) to the table. They forgot to transfer part of the order to the kitchen, so they had to wait even longer.(
The staff is confused, but maybe tired, the end of the week is still 😅
Before leaving, they gave sweets and apologized for all the delays and confusion ☺️
It's a disgusting place!
We went to dinner with friends, and eventually came out angry and hungry.
My husband and I ordered:
- salad with tomatoes, cheese and peach (photo attached). I would like to ask the cook: does he follow a diet, because there are no spices, seasonings, sauce at all? The salad is so bland that neither salt/ pepper standing on the table saved the situation.
- there is a separate point about dumplings in general! How does the cook of such an institution allow himself to give overcooked porridge dumplings to a guest? Of course, I turned to the waiter and demanded to redo this MARRIAGE! The waiter left, after 5 minutes the waiter came up and apologized for the fact that they had the whole batch of "Defective blanks"!!! How can this be allowed? We came to dinner, and so far this dish has not appeared on the stop list? Shame on the one who missed such a blank and allowed it to be sampled by a guest! (And of course, I demanded that this dish be deducted from the receipt, to which the waiter agreed).
- draniki, honestly, are the most ordinary. Nothing special
- the teas are sour, not brought to taste.
In general, we will not return to this institution anymore and we do not advise others!
And you can see the lamplighter in other places too!
A great place, we are waiting for the lamplighter, who should come in to light a lantern. The staff is very polite. The cuisine is both European and Indian. I really liked the place very much.
We will not definitely return. When booking a table, we were not even offered the option to book before 19:00, when, according to the waiter's response, all reservations began in the main hall, but 2 halls were offered at once. The interior of the "dining room" in the 2nd hall wanted to turn us around in the first 2 minutes, but decided to give us a chance, because we came for a set from the gastrofest. Set is, of course, a separate "love") I was only pleased with the carrot soup with a flatbread. Grated boiled carrots with sugar, salad with carrots and tiny pieces of pineapple, but the name is "chicken Hawaii")) fish fillets without salt at all, ordinary chicken thighs, and lemon rice, it's generally urine by smell and, sorry, urine is not the first freshness) We barely fit at this small table, the atmosphere in the 2nd hall is of course yeah))
It's great that a Lamplighter lights a lantern in an institution and you can stand in a crowd of people. Very helpful staff eager to help. But... everything about Indian cuisine in our order is very far from Indian cuisine. The cook should have tried Indian cuisine at least once, even at an average level. Not enough spices. Not that consistency. And the tortillas.... Raw onion inside. Well, guys... you can go and try at least to Minsk.
A wonderful dinner, a cozy atmosphere, and most importantly, there is a lantern inside, which is lit every evening by the same famous lamplighter. I recommend it to everyone
It's a great place and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I didn't see the turn, but the waiters are both great. Even the lamplighter is very friendly and friendly.
The waiters will tell you in sufficient detail about the dishes and drinks. You will be able to choose the optimal entourage / menu for the evening.
Indian cuisine even looks authentic, it's good that it is adapted to our bodies and not so spicy))) although there is enough peppercorn in full.
Total:
I recommend visiting the place for entertainment purposes. Here the lamplighter lights the first lantern ;) and everyone is waiting for him on the street, and inside you can safely take a picture without the crowd) (a life hack may be useful to someone)
The second, of course, I recommend to try the local cuisine, very worthy.
Your 5* is well deserved
It's delicious, very tasty, the staff are kind. There is Wi-Fi, and the prices for restaurants are very good and prestigious. Who will be in Brest, you definitely need to come in
When we came here to watch the lighting of lanterns in the alley, we did not know that they had their own lantern inside the establishment, which the Lamplighter also lights - it turned out to be a very pleasant surprise)) In addition, I can note that the establishment, in general, is very pleasant, cozy, clean everywhere, good service, good cuisine, a fairly democratic price tag. I definitely recommend it!
We waited a very long time for the menu to be brought, as a result we had to go and ask for it. After that, the waiters almost immediately began to approach asking if we were ready to place an order (no more than 2 minutes have passed since receiving the menu), refusing one, the second immediately came with the same question. We ordered tea and shish kebab, the tea was brought relatively quickly, the shish kebab was waited for a very long time. Sleep shish kebab literally about nothing, the chicken is dry, the pork is not chewed and looks more like a piece of rubber with fat than a shish kebab. To our remark, the waiter replied, "Well, that's how the cook cooks." One of the most unpleasant surprises was a mug that crumbled in my mouth. When the appliances were served, we were not given napkins, we remembered this only when we asked for it ourselves
The two of us were not at rush hour, only 1 table was occupied on the street
We waited 40 (!) minutes for our order of 2 dishes and 2 drinks
Moreover, after 40 minutes, only 1 dish was brought
The staff seems to have forgotten about the drinks and the second course altogether
The drinks were brought after the reminder, the second course was in the stack
As a result, an hour of lost time, a spoiled mood and the search for another cafe.
Only the bill was brought quickly.
We were with friends in Brest. It started to rain. We ran into this place. I have not seen such service anywhere. The table was dirty. The menu was not carried for half an hour, we went to get it ourselves. We ordered beer without food, as we were told to wait for food for 50 minutes. The beer was carried for another 30 minutes.
Since we were sitting on the open veranda and it was raining, it got cold, I asked for a plaid (I'm not picky at all, I thought they would just give it to me and that's it), but the plaid was never brought to me, I had to catch the waiter again and this time I just asked to give the plaid in my hands. Thank you for giving it.
Since it was raining, of course we were still sitting, we decided to order another beer, actually they forgot about us!
The rain passed and we left, and at the exit they told us so: "We forgot about you."
I understand everything, the institution is big, the load was heavy, but it was possible to warn about it.
The impression of this place is terrible, if I'm in Brest, I definitely won't set foot there anymore.
Hello everyone, I've been to this place 1 time and I want to come back again and again. A neck in a frying pan with vegetables is something stunning, pancakes are a feature of this place that you can't help but try. A responsive team, a great atmosphere, and yes, a lamplighter comes to them in the evenings who always takes a photo. Thanks for keeping it that way
We hoped for Indian cuisine, but on this day the menu was only European. We ordered a business lunch - we didn't regret it, it was very tasty and satisfying))
Terrible, terrible!
The waiters don't say hello, they bring the wrong food. Rude, rude
The receptionist is even worse: to the objection that the waiter confused everything, she offered to figure out who is right (we, the guests!!!!! Or the waiter)
The children were brought one terrible French fries, all covered in butter. When asked why not 2, as we ordered and without ketchup, we heard a snarl. Like, let one child eat and the other watch. We didn't get our food and tea. They went to another cafe for lunch.
Shame on the name! Sadly...
My favorite cafe in Brest!😋 We often pamper ourselves by visiting this fantastic place! Everything is always at the highest level here: friendly and nice staff, courteous service, excellent cuisine, great service, the quality and taste of the dishes are on top! I will also mention an excellent wine line!)) We all have our own "favorites" of the menu! As a lover of spicy food, I adore the unique author's delights of Indian cuisine, for which special thanks to chef Ravat)) And there are wonderful business lunches in this cafe, which is also undoubtedly pleasing. Well, among other things, it is very atmospheric and cozy here! You can have a nice time together, or celebrate something with your company. Thank you very much to the entire staff of this wonderful cafe!
The food is delicious and the service is below the baseboard. They cook for ages and bring dishes with a long delay. Kari ate everything, the tortilla was brought 40 minutes later and the wrong one. After the request to repeat the beer, it took at least half an hour. And this situation is not only with us, at the next table we were also bored waiting
It is a very atmospheric institution, and of course a special plus is that the tradition of lighting lanterns goes right inside, of course we didn't try everything, but what was brought was very well done.
We often visit this place. I recommend booking a table an hour before the lanterns are lit, so that while sitting at a table with a glass of sparkling wine, you can watch how the famous and only lamplighter of the city of Brest is greeted and escorted off! The food was delicious, the service was good.
Long service, semi-finished dishes (draniki for sure), were brought in an hour, even beer was carried for 40 minutes, although there were not very many people. The only plus, although it doesn't make much sense, because they came to have dinner, is a lamplighter who comes here to light a lantern on the wall.
In general, a normal institution. But it's kind of boring, it's kind of very ordinary. The waiter left a negative impression, and when I asked her what she would recommend and if there was anything special, she somehow mumbled uncertainly, eventually not advising anything. Well, the price tag is too big
A wonderful place!! Excellent menu, very tasty specialties! Excellent service, pleasant and polite waiters, we come not for the first time, everything is always on top! Thank you very much!!
.And my favorite dessert is a flower in a pot! Well, sooo delicious and beautiful!! 🌷😋
My recommendations 💯💯💯
The place is atmospheric, the interior is interesting. The kitchen is a little behind: the portions are small and for an amateur. The waitresses are trying, but they have no experience.
It's a good place. An interesting interior. Excellent service. It's cozy and positive here. Kitchen for 4. Definitely worth a try. Fans of Indian cooking will probably like it and will become a favorite place. As for me, the dishes are a little monotonous (chicken, curry and other fragrant spices prevail)
The bar is also wonderful. We found Italian grappa from the bins, which brightened up our evening.
A magnificent dessert is a flower in a pot. It's a work of art. If even the first 2 points for some reason do not leave emotions, then indifference is lost here)
Probably the only thing that stands out here is Indian cuisine. This is the Achilles heel that prevents you from earning your well-deserved 5+
Thanks to the restaurant team for their well-coordinated work and good mood. In memory of the wonderful Brest, there is a separate corner dedicated to you👍
Greetings from Moscow 🙋🏼
A great place, my wife and I celebrated with my doctor. A cool but very humble chef), excellent waitresses and service. The best tinctures for 4 days of travel in Belarus (they say that their director makes them). The best impression of the tour in Belarus so far.
Well, you definitely won't miss the lamplighter, he will go right into the cafe, light that odd lantern. The owner of the cafe is well done for stirring up this topic: A businessman, with a capital letter B 😉
A special highlight of the city is the lamplighter, who lights the first lantern near the cafe and enters the institution. The menu is modest, the choice of dishes is small. But it was delicious. There is a question about cocktails, the composition of which can be found only from the waiter, and not from the menu. Bruschetta does not look like in the photo (portions came out smaller). You can choose a table on the terrace. I recommend visiting this place in the evening, during the lighting of the lanterns.
A wonderful place. I especially recommend Indian dishes. Every evening a kerosene lantern is lit in the cafe. The atmosphere is indescribable. I definitely recommend you to visit. The whole family was delighted
Terrible service, I don't even want to tell you, I need to change the waiters, and the receptionist, in a bright crimson jacket.
We are from another city, and now when friends are going to Brest, I tell them, just don't go to the cafe at night. The coolest thing is there, it's a fanatic.
They overcooked the pancakes, forgot about the cocktail, there was no salt on the table. The service is long. The only plus is the lamplighter who comes into the cafe. There is no Indian cuisine on Mondays, but this is not indicated anywhere
