The hotel was chosen based on reviews. We took a room with a side sea view with half board for three (age 20-40 years). The dates of the trip are September 18-28, 2018. Upon arrival, we were given a corner room on the fourth floor, with a stunning view of the sea, so we fell asleep and woke up to the sound of waves. The room itself is clean, but poor! I'm attaching a photo, but we didn't expect anything else from the troika. On the plus side, there is WiFi and a safe hidden in the closet. Among the disadvantages, there is no refrigerator, and the shower room is so small that it is difficult for a fragile girl to turn around, not to mention people of larger dimensions.
Sockets that fit our phone plugs, there were no problems with charging.
Breakfasts from 8.00 to 9.30, which is called "dry", the same set day after day: three types of sausage, sometimes two types of cheese, more often one. Two types of muesli. A bowl of yogurt that looks like sour cream. Jams, honey and chocolate paste in a single package, butter. Two types of juice from the bags. Absolutely delicious croissants and some kind of shortbread pie, a small plate of unripe seasonal fruits. Instant coffee is brought in a coffee pot and a jug of milk with foam is added to it. That's it, no omelets, scrambled eggs and other things.
Lunches and dinners are interchangeable. You need to choose the day before according to the proposed menu. Meals are served at a strictly appointed time, 12.30 and 19.30, if you are an hour late, no one will feed you anymore. The restaurant's service, white tablecloths, linen napkins, everything is beautiful and decorous, but in the restaurant there is an annoying silence, only the clinking of appliances, there is not enough light music to create a mood! In previous reviews, they wrote that the hotel has the best cook, I do not share these delights. The food is delicious, rather homely, but far from restaurant.
The hotel staff was friendly. Especially the night porter, dear grandfather! Every time we passed by in the evening with clinking bottles in a bag, he asked if we needed to open a bottle))
Alassio himself is very sincere and atmospheric, sightseeing will take a maximum of a couple of days. Nice beaches with fine sand and gentle entry into the sea. Flora Beach has two high chairs and an umbrella for free, sun beds for two euros. They don't give out beach towels, take your own. "Hazing" is flourishing on the beach, new arrivals are stirred up on distant sun beds, by the middle of the rest we were moved to the first lines to the sea. Flora was mostly chosen because the beach was included in the price, because In the same reviews, we read that almost all beaches are paid and quite expensive.
Because I lead a fairly active lifestyle and do not like to wallow in seals, it was possible not to focus on this factor at all, the beaches are not fenced, you can go to the sea anywhere, and at the end of the season there are plenty of free pieces of the beach, determine it's very simple, if there are no sunbeds and appropriate infrastructure, you can safely sit on your towel.
Flora is located at the entrance to Alassio from Genoa, after 100 meters the Budello (shopping street) leading to the center begins. If you walk along the parallel street a little higher, you will find a supermarket 24 hours. There is no promenade in this part of Alassio, it starts from the center and goes to Laiguella, you can safely walk. But we went to the neighboring town of Albenga by bus, about 15 minutes, the ticket cost is 4 euros, the ticket is valid for 150 minutes, this was enough time for us to inspect, and we returned using the same tickets. The rest of the days we visited Sanremo, Savona, Nice and Monaco. It is very easy to find the railway station, reach the Muretto wall and climb up from it, you will run right into the station building. There is also a car rental office in the station building, they wanted to go to Nice and Monaco by car, but it turned out to be impossible, if you can rent in this office only in Italy, you can not go outside. I had to take a train with a transfer to Ventimiglia.
I regretted that I took half board, because if you are going to actively relax with traveling, binding to a strict meal time is extremely inconvenient! And you are unlikely to stay hungry in Italy, except in siesta, when almost everything freezes))
By the way, we tried ice cream in all gelaterias, found the most delicious!
Italy and Alassio are amazing!
P.S.: Take a corkscrew with you…
The hotel is located on the seashore. Excellent service, cuisine, everything is filled with the spirit of Italy! This is the place where you want to come back again
10 stars, we have been driving for 2 years. Emilio's master will find an approach to everyone. In general, a very good place where you can forget about everything and really understand what a vacation is!!!
