The most incredible place I've ever visited. We went on an excursion in October - the weather was very comfortable, the path was in the rocks in the shade, it was not hot. Be sure to wear sneakers, it will not be comfortable in open shoes. Be sure to take water with you. If it is difficult to travel long distances, then it is better to take a car and drive it, but of course you will not learn such pleasure, unlike a walking tour
Definitely ready to visit. It's a very interesting place, which is impressive. The path through the canyon ends with an exit to the beautiful architectural project of El Khazneh. And when you realize that it was done by human hands in the 1st century A.D., it just takes your breath away. There are crypts in the rocks almost everywhere. The colonnade and amphitheater testify to the presence of the Romans in the city in the first and second centuries. The latest buildings date no earlier than the 5th century AD.
Be sure to take a guide. A very interesting attraction. I'll start from the beginning, after buying a ticket and entering, you usually have the first 700m on horseback included, but you will have to pay the Bedouin "baksheesh", a more convenient option is golf carts, you can take them first on the way back for 25 dinars or from there for 15. The gorge is very impressive and the road goes a little downhill, That's why I recommend walking there and driving back. There are many interesting sculptures along the way, but you won't find them without a guide. I didn't climb the mountains themselves, I only looked at the lower part of the canyon, but that's enough for one time. I highly recommend that on the way back, as soon as you leave the ticket office, go to the museum, it is free and very informative, there is a lot of new and systematic information, or if you are without a guide, then you can before :))
If you are in Jordan, be sure to go to Petra! It's worth seeing.
