The Church of St. George in the village of Jer (in Georgian, Geri) in South Ossetia was built earlier than 1855.
In 2019, the roof was covered with German tiles, emphasizing the ancient style of the architectural monument.
This place is known as "Djery dzuar Uastyrdzhi" – lit. "Uastyrdzhi Jewish Sanctuary".
A delicious cherry plum grows behind the temple.
