150 rubles for an incomprehensible place. The feeling of an unfinished cottage. Boards, profiled sheet, cinder blocks and other construction debris. The remains of the old parts of the building have been preserved, but there are very few of them
In fact, it is no longer there. A hotel is being built there. Don't waste your time. There is no way to get to the palace. But thanks a lot to those people who are restoring it.
The entrance fee is 150 rubles. An abandoned building. Nothing is protected from falling. Therefore, keep an eye on the children. It's just fenced off where you can't walk and that's it
There are two people sitting at the entrance.!!! They collect 150 rubles. for which, it is not clear, the money is in your pocket, as it was 5 years ago, so it remained!!!
Beautiful views, gorgeous history of the Oldenburg faces and their activities for the benefit of Russia. But the palace itself is in a deplorable state. Very sorry
The staff at the entrance sat 4 abhazas. Neither hello nor goodbye! Give me the money and go - well, in principle, it's all over Abkhazia. But there's a great view of the sea from there!
There's not much to do besides a photo with a round window. Entrance is paid (150 rubles), but the garbage is not cleaned (bottles are found empty and broken).
The path to the castle is implicit from the city - you have to go after the abandoned shopping center
Construction work is underway, but you can see and walk around the rooms. In general, there are many interesting atmospheric abandonments in old Gagra)) crawling in them in the heat is a pleasure)
One question is why?
Climb steep stairs to face a closed door. Go to another one even higher in the heat to stumble upon a growling dog behind a wrought-iron door. We went down to the first door again, while we were walking towards it, two dogs were released from above, they were crying, trying to get down, they brought down stones the size of a tennis ball and more on tourists....They charged 150 rubles per person at the entrance. It costs so much to walk on the leaky floor and cracked stairs to look at the bare walls and the beach from above.
Everything is in disrepair, I don't understand why I paid for the entrance. They don't think about the safety of visitors. Dilapidated balconies and floors.
The view is gorgeous, there is no cleanliness. Abandoned, trash bottles, mattresses are lying around. Some unknown person takes money for admission. But not what conditions. It's a little dangerous, it's not frozen. The cliff.
The view is beautiful on Gagra, but no more. The entrance fee is 150 rubles. For what? To look at the ruins and unfinished buildings, which can be viewed for free at every step in Abkhazia?! It's just that people of local nationality put up a gate, a camera and hung a sign "private territory") well, what can I say - this is the whole of Abkhazia. No one wants to restore anything, even to remove the bottles, but at the same time they are not ashamed to take money for admission
The castle, of course, impresses with its architecture, scale and views! I would like to see the castle in its heyday, because now it is only the remains of former luxury, almost ruins. At the entrance, they charge 150 rubles per person for the opportunity to walk, the territory is private. As we were told, the castle is awaiting restoration, but the timing is clear. It's worth going either for lovers of abandonment, or if you want to take a couple of Instagram photos.
We are waiting for the completion of the repair. Although, in this case, this "abandonment" will lose some of its charm. It is unclear how such things could happen at all
In general, there is nothing special there
The views are super, there are Angry dog signs, and they really are there, but outside the door where tourists are not allowed
So these dogs really fit into the interior of this castle and it turns out like in the movie ... such big dogs guard the castle 🏰
It looks very cool
The castle is half abandoned, the floors are buzzing underfoot, so you should walk carefully and on tight crossbars. Restoration work is underway or has been going on for some time, because the upper part looks completely new. There are a lot of tourists and construction debris, so there is no feeling of an abandoned building.
I do not advise trying to go around the top through the barrier or drive up the serpentine. Walk along the wide road from the Seaside Park, and then up the stairs. Don't listen to people who couldn't get there, they probably didn't even try. Come to the gate, knock and you will be met by a guard who will let you into the territory for 150 rubles. The man we met let the children through for free.
They close at 19:00, so you should not delay going there.
And yet the views from the castle are just amazing!

A beautiful place with a beautiful view, it's a pity that they don't take care of it: over time, the ceilings break down, fall apart, holes appear, a few more years and it may not be safe here
The view is gorgeous
The views are impressive. The passage is 150 rubles- and then crawl yourself. It's dangerous in places, of course, no fences- be responsible for yourself and for your children.
We visited this place the other day. Everything is working to get inside, go up the wide road, and YOU DO NOT NEED to go up the steps, you will get to a private territory. You need to go further along the road to the green gate. Knock there and they will open for you. Admission is 150 rubles per person, of course it is illegal and everyone understands this, but unfortunately there are no rules in Abkhazia :) or they are, but are not respected. It's very authentic inside, you can take a lot of beautiful photos. It's not worth it with children, there are a lot of dangerous places. The place itself is certainly ruined. Read the prince's story, it is also useful for expanding your horizons
very beautiful views, a gorgeous location for a photo shoot, panoramic views of the sea and the Abaata hotel, the hotel across the street, there is also a 6th century church
It was not possible to see up close, no one is allowed in. Although later we saw people walking on the walls, but for some reason we were not allowed in.
Incredible beauty! Yes, it's dangerous, you need to be careful. Don't let the children go away from you!
History.....
It's a pity that the ruins remain
It's a pity that it's like this...Yes, it is so all over Gagra...There are ruins everywhere..Alas.
It's a very beautiful castle...It's just unbelievable...
If you come to Abkhazia, this is one of the places that you must visit, the entrance costs 150 rubles, although they will not give you a check or a coupon, but it does not matter, of the minuses that there are no pointers how to get through. No one limits the time, you can walk and take pictures even until you turn blue, Hoolies are awesome for photos
Being in Gagra is definitely worth a visit to the Prince of Oldenburg's palace. The palace is in a dilapidated state, although it was built at the beginning of the last century. Restoration work is underway on part of the territory - they are closed to the public. The part is open. You need to walk carefully - somewhere there is no part of the spans, somewhere there is a railing or even a hole in the floor. The palace is located in Staraya Gagra. It is built on a hill and is almost invisible from the road. To get to the palace, you need to overcome 200 meters of ascent, then go up the stairs. When you come to the high gates of the profiled sheet, knock. The visit is paid, but the views are worth it. Near the Abaat Palace, Gagripsh restaurant, colonnades and Gagra cinema (the one in the film) are 15 minutes away.
First of all, this place will be interesting for lovers of history, architecture or just abandoned buildings. Entrance is paid (150 rubles), the upper part of the castle is closed to tourists, but even without this there is something to see and where to take pictures. There are no guided tours, the inspection is independent. Look carefully at your feet!
It's a cool place with a great story. It was not possible to get inside, during restoration, but the surroundings are steep, the views are fascinating and the history. In general, Abkhazia is cool😍
