Good afternoon, I want to share my feedback and sad experience. As you know, in the evening of 04/16/2024, the UAE was hit by heavy rains. Streets, buildings, the subway were flooded, even airport runways were drowned in water, cars just floated along the dorgog. In the afternoon, when the weather was good, while in Sharjah, I made a reservation through Tinkoff Bank for three days at this Dorus Hotel located in Dubai from 04/17/2024 to 04/20/2004. When I woke up in the morning and went outside, I was shocked, the road at the hotel was above knee level.(My height is 194 cm). In the multi-level parking lot at the hotel where I was staying, I had a car, a sedan. It was out of the question to ride it, a water hammer would have been provided. 04/17/2024 having assessed the situation, I realized that it would be unrealistic to get to Dubai, taxis and buses were also floating on the roads, walking 20 km is also not an option. At 10:00, I contacted representatives of Tinkoff Bank (Thank them very much, the most customer-oriented bank in my opinion). So, I asked them to cancel the reservation, due to the current situation, the guys immediately reacted and tried for three days to convince the hotel to refund the funds. The hotel has been providing unsubscriptions for three days, and today it received a complete refusal to pay. In such situations, it seems to me, on the contrary, it is necessary to look for ways to help people, and not use the benefit on the misfortune of others. I wish you all success, be kinder to each other.
I am attaching a photo in the afternoon from 04/17/2024.
We traveled with the whole family and friends. There were 8 of us and a baby. 4 rooms for 2 people. (210, 308, 408, 410). Everyone has their own floor, by the way, there are only 6 of them. I have gathered the general opinion set out below. I'll start in order:
1) Location. The hotel is located on a small street with a lot of traffic, especially during rush hour. The building itself is very dirty and old, which can be seen, even by unwashed windows and leaking air conditioners. A lot of people always pass near the entrance. And given the narrow path, it is very annoying, because it is impossible to pass. There are a lot of people, and besides cyclists with a free ride path.
On the ground floor (“Ground”) there is a reception, a dining room, and 2 clubs, more about them later, also a toilet. There are always a lot of suitcases near the stairs, as if they are always moving in and out. There is a billiard room on the floor below.
2) The food is very modest. I'm not fussy about food, but it's something. We only had breakfast at the hotel. Six large vats. On a regular basis: boiled eggs, Arabic bread, like our pita bread, and potatoes in different forms, sometimes boiled, sometimes fried. There was chicken with beans and fried onions in the morning, there were noodles with green onions and everything in a tasteless sauce, as if soy (something in between). Well, almost every day there were small pancakes, like pancake cakes, and only one sauce, like wedge syrup. Of the drinks, very strong tea and coffee, which is brewed, apparently, to be diluted, hot, very hot milk, and juice, very sweet, based not on fruits, but sugar, I personally diluted it with water, which spoiled the taste, but at least it could be drunk. There is white and grey bread. For white, there is a toaster, but it is incredibly dirty, just black. In it, all of our bread burned to almost ashes (black crust with a taste). And, probably, the most delicious is the decayed and weathered watermelon. He was always very gentle, which is strange. Cucumbers, tomatoes, olives are all in small quantities. The staff was in no hurry to replenish supplies. You can also order scrambled eggs and omelets at the counter. I've asked many times, but they always make the eggs runny and lightly fried, which not everyone likes.
3) The elevator. It's an integral part of moving around the floors, but I've never seen such squalor. The point is as follows. The staircase is only a fire escape, along which the staff moves. I tried to go down it, but it only goes up to the second floor, and then only by elevator. But also about him. Our room was on the second floor. When you press the button, the elevator does not go. I have to wait. In half a minute, he will deign to go to the floor above, because someone else called him. By the way, the down button didn't work on our floor. And this “someone else” will want to go up. And I want to go down. I have to wait again for the elevator to think. And finally, from the fifth floor, he will follow me, but only if no one calls him before me. In general, we were very tired of this crap, I can't call it anything else.
4) Swimming pool. This is also a work of art. In the photos, the pool is crystal clear EVERYWHERE, with blue water and sun beds. but! When on the first day, when the transfer from the sea had already arrived, and there was no opportunity to see the beach, we decided to swim. In the description of the hotel, there is a check mark opposite the heating everywhere. But this is another deception. The staff said that this system had been broken for a long time and that, literally, the water temperature depends on the air temperature. But that's nothing compared to the surroundings of the pool. Instead of chaise lounges, there are old, very tattered and dirty sofas, as if they were dragged from a garbage dump. And there are also some mini canopies (tents) with smoky air inside. All this is decorated with an old bar standing next to it, which practically does not even have water. The declared look is “simply gorgeous.” Green stained and chopped green coating. Which is just disgusting to walk on, even in slates, because it is wet, dirty and always stripped. Huge fences two meters high, blocking everything! You can only stand on your toes, on a stool, and see someone's laundry drying nearby, or an air-conditioned roof. Before leaving, I wanted to take a picture of this horror for a couple of days, but the pool was completely blocked by a lock and the inscription “not working for technical reasons”, although it was stated that it was open from 9:00, and I went in more than once throughout the day. Nightmare.
5) Gym and sauna. Of the three saunas, only one works, with a maximum capacity of four people. The lighting doesn't work in it at all. Half of the gym is broken. You can only run on an old treadmill and pull small dumbbells. In the photo, one of the displays of the “working” simulator. The sauna is not hot and unsafe, because the stove is open and it is dangerous to be there in the dark. The staff has nothing to do with it. Figure it out for yourself, but we won't give it to you. That's the position everyone in this hotel has.
6) Rooms. Another example to follow. All rooms are divided into two types: with a double bed and with three single beds. There are no double rooms, and it's for the best. But there are more places. There was no kettle in our room upon arrival. An elementary object. There is even a place allocated for it on the table. But it was brought to us only at the end of the next day, when we bowed to the guide, who took offense at us, due to the fact that all the excursions were quite expensive for us, and it was cheaper to go yourself. So, it was the guide who knew Arabic. And, apparently, he convinced the staff to deign to comply with our request. It's disgusting in terms of cleanliness. Our carpet, as in all rooms, is not cleaned, and is not cleaned from the word at all. Near the bed in a prominent place, someone before us spilled something like milk, and the stain dried up with a large white coating. It is impossible not to notice it. The curtains are dusty, as is the bedside table, on which you can draw with your finger. And I sneeze at the dust, because the owner is allergic, so this item turned out to be very critical. The staff pretends to clean up. He carries a cart with him, and a vacuum cleaner, which is not used at all. For the first three days our room was not cleaned at all. Then it turned out that it was necessary to weigh a green cardboard box on the door handle so that our door would be noticed. After that, horror again. We were not given boxes with a shower cap, and cotton swabs (5 pieces) with one cotton pad. Well, at the end of the vacation we were very surprised. It turns out that all this time these boxes turned out to be empty at all, and the maids were amazed, as if I myself took them out and showed them. The auditor would not approve. By the way, about the devices. After the kettle, I thought it was impossible to surprise me, but no! A couple of days later, the Wi-Fi was not working in our room. We waited two days for it to be fixed. We stood at the reception for about 15 minutes, after that the staff called us a master who embroidered from the club, in an untidy state and began to smile, supposedly to fix it tomorrow. Yes, they fixed it. But only by the next night. I'm not good at their system, so I didn't crawl myself. Well, 3 days later, our air conditioner broke down. completely. Well, since even the windows in the rooms do not open (they are locked), there is nowhere for moisture to go out, so it is very humid in the rooms. Well, it's also hot during the day, fortunately there are large curtains. It turns out to be a steam room. The air conditioner was also repaired with a bow two days later. Apparently, they don't touch the equipment at all. They'll just knock on it with their fist, it's working, and it'll do. Our safe has not worked yet, but these are small things, we have already hidden all the documents in another place, and the TV does not work. He can't find channels even by auto-search. Only one worked with local news, although flags of 5 countries hang at the entrance. Do they all know Arabic? By the way, there was a refrigerator in the room, but it's hard to call it that. It's a freezer. And the milk and juice just froze. And you had to drink it after half an hour, or even an hour of cooling down. It works great, but who is it for?
7) Clubs. This is the most disgusting hotel. In it, the staff doesn't care about you. At night, music plays EVERY DAY, which can be heard everywhere. The couple's baby lived on the fourth floor. But even there, the music can be heard in the ears very strongly. It's like she's playing right behind the wall. The baby didn't even fall asleep at 2 a.m. I even jumped up at five in the morning when the music was still playing! I called the reception every night, but they DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU. They say, literally, “okay, okay, okay” and hang up the brazen phone, because they themselves understand that they are having so much fun and they don't care about the tenants. We saw more than once in the morning how people were carried out of these clubs, I mean, by the hands and feet, people were carried out. Since we checked that there is no alcohol, and even if there is, it is VERY expensive. Then we came to the conclusion that drugs are used there. And that's all. This is the first club. And the second one is even more interesting. This is an intimate services club. It's called "Buzzz". Tourists told us about him. I will not describe the details. But how disgusting it is to understand that women of easy virtue walk right on the floor below. Although we all came for a RELAXING family vacation. We didn't mean any harm to anyone, but why didn't we get enough sleep every night, because of the fucking music. Yes, even the bass was playing on the fifth floor. They could be heard even by the vibration of the windows and walls. By the way, they constantly offer hookah, an unknown liquid. Well, you understand me. What kind of hotel club is this?
My review is a direct reflection of the situation of this hotel, and judging by conversations with other tourists, the hotel is objectively miserable: with old torn furniture, dirty and unclean surroundings, with a constant party with incredibly loud music, and with staff to whom you can't prove anything, because they won't even look at you. Never set foot in this hotel again.
P.S. Two more additions:
1) The porter, a person whose duties include taking luggage and suitcases out of the hotel to the street, simply breaks things. He takes two suitcases each and drops a plastic suitcase in front of my eyes, and the other bag gets stuck in the door. Horror.
2) In the photo attached to this review, there is a noise measurement at 23:18. But, believe me, this is just the beginning of the party
Pros: Breakfast more or less, transfer to the sea
Cons: Disgusting and disrespectful attitude of the staff, constant night music in the rooms, location, state department, elevator, smoking throughout the territory (even where smoking is prohibited), inconsistency with the description, disgusting and disrespectful attitude of the staff, lack of security in the sauna and gym, squalor of the appearance of the hotel and many other disgusting and unacceptable things
Terrible hotel. Swimming pool without heating. Although it is written that there is no heated children's pool. At the bottom is a club of intimate services. Music all night long. For the whole hotel. Rooms are poorly cleaned. In general, we didn't sleep there at all. Terribly noisy
A hotel for a budget tourist. They position themselves as 4 stars, they do not correspond to the level. Not a bad location in a working-class area of Dubai.
