Excellent hotel and grounds. Very nice beach. Not a bad kitchen.
The infrastructure of the rooms is worn out, but this does not interfere with rest.
I recommend this hotel!

We had a rest in December 2022.
The hotel was built in the early 80s and it feels like a lot has not changed since then.
But everything is compensated by the beautiful sea - the hotel is located on a peninsula and is surrounded by beautiful beaches on both sides. One of these beaches is almost deserted and you can swim perfectly.
We took breakfasts and dinners - the buffet was quite modest, but there was everything we needed. I will also note a wonderful Christmas dinner.
I can't add a photo because Yandex doesn't understand the HEIC format. ^(

The coastal strip is not cleaned, bags, sticks, leaves in large quantities. Next, the ocean is clean, the water is warm, transparent. The depth is good.Stones, corals are needed. The reverse current is strong, there are no rescuers, the responsibility on the beach is on tourists. Turtles, fish in sufficient quantity. The staff is friendly, the rooms on the website photo do not correspond to reality, guest chairs and a mosquito canopy are not in all rooms. The family rooms are cool. The food is normal, there were no hungry. Fruits at breakfast are cut and given out in doses.

I'll start with the claims against the hotel itself:
1) Ants. They're everywhere. In the toilet, on the rim of the toilet, on the floor, we were in the bed a couple of times
2) A leaky door to the balcony
3) Maybe a bad laundry, because we asked to replace the bed linen, brought the same dirty linen and an unpleasant smell was added to this
3) Bad internet
Now the most disgusting thing is the staff:
1) The staff does not speak English well to the extent that they do not know words such as towel
2) As I said, the cleaning is bad
3) Disgusting attitude towards the guests. Starting by not fulfilling requests by type to put a foot towel or two shampoos.
Ending with their ignoring, on the fifth day of our stay, they began to put glass bottles on us, on the same day I asked the cleaner to put plastic ones next time and change these, which of course did not happen. Later, by contacting the reception, I also remain ignored and so I approached 3 times. as a result, he injured his leg with shards of glass from a broken bottle
I hope for some kind of compensation, because of the fault of the hotel, we lose the tour and the remaining 3 days of rest. I am waiting for feedback.

The hotel on the outskirts of the town of Dickwell occupies a promontory between two lagoons. Accommodation in two-storey buildings. The standard rooms have a double bed, a wardrobe with a safe, a small table, a mini fridge, air conditioning, a TV. The latter is practically useless, since the signal is not very good, and there are no Russian channels there. The bathroom is a little strange, combined. There is a toilet at the entrance, then a sink and a shower in the far corner behind the glass door. In addition to standard rooms, there are superior rooms (they are more spacious) and two-storey suites. It should be borne in mind that regardless of the class, geckos will live in your room (they are afraid of people and hide behind cabinets), and chipmunks and even monkeys can come to visit. Once, early in the morning, a family of mongooses passed by. In general, there are enough animals on the territory. In addition to the above, there are also different birds (from crows to some exotic ones) that begin to row on palm trees with the sunrise. Sometimes a monitor lizard appears on the shore, and one day some snake crawled to bask in the sun on the fence of the beach. There is an equipped beach only on one side of the hotel with sun beds and umbrellas. It didn't work out much to sunbathe, because they were out of season, the sky was mostly covered with clouds and it often rained, so umbrellas saved more from precipitation than from the sun. Swimming in the ocean should be more careful, because there are quite strong currents near the shore, which are very difficult to fight. I had to save people a couple of times. In addition, various garbage such as bags and labels from bottles often comes across in the ocean, and the shore does not spoil the clean. The same bags, bottles, beer cans that no one really cleans. It is safe to swim in the pool at the restaurant. And the water there is, of course, clean.
In the restaurant we had breakfast and dinner buffet style. Not too diverse, but you could always find something to your taste. Clay pots with local food stood separately, but it is impossible to eat it from habit because of the wild amount of hot pepper. The rest of the dishes are usually not so peppered, but you should not relax, because once a jalapeno pepper was crumbled in the stew.
The main problem of the hotel is that it is very far from Colombo Airport, where the Aeroflot flight flies, but you can fly by charter to Hambantota, from which the hotel is only an hour and a half away. It will take two and a half to three hours to get to Colombo airport with an individual transfer, and with a regular one, by bus, all five.

For the first time in Sri and it's love at first sight. We refused a cool 5* in another area after seeing Dickwell and were not disappointed! You can look at nature everywhere, you want to talk about the hotel: the location is gorgeous, almost every room has sea view, authentic furniture, adds flavor to the palm trees that go up into the sky, if you don't mind the little things - it's generally perfect! The staff is the main impression that made the stay wonderful - very responsive and friendly people. We got into the rains, it was pouring all over the vacation, they run out of the restaurant when they see that tourists are going to eat and see off with the zones! It's so incredibly cute, by the way, there are umbrellas in every room)) our room was flooded and we were moved to a new one. No frills kitchen, everything you need. Empty plates on the table do not stand for a minute at a meal, the guys rustle. Animation is easy - water aerobics, sports, they try, you can always keep yourself busy. Every morning there is some kind of movement, the territory is combed, removing the fallen leaves, the palm trees are trimmed, the guards are always smiling, but everyone here is smiling at you like a friend! As soon as you want to move the deck chairs, they will immediately come running, they will do everything themselves, a mattress, towels, well, they just take care of you at every step. And, most importantly, the sincere smiles of all the staff and an ambulance in any case. In general, the impressions are the best. Chipmunks run around the territory, a couple of monitor lizards walk in the distance, sometimes 2 langurs come in, a hotel on the cape, 2 coves and a clean pool around, we swam everywhere, everything is super. Compared to China and India, it's just Europe, everything is great, we'll come back ourselves, we'll send friends! 💜🙏🌿

A wonderful hotel. There is a beach with turtles or a surf beach nearby. In any case, one of the two beaches will be without waves, which is good, because there are many waves in Sri Lanka and it is difficult to find a hotel with their absence. The food is not bad, it is wonderful for such a hotel. A clean pool with sun beds and umbrellas, there is a shower. You can also play table tennis, volleyball or golf. But the pizza on the second floor, where the bar is, was not very tasty. I am also very pleased that there is a cafe Mahi-mahi near the hotel, which is owned by a guy from Russia. Everything is very tasty, fast service and pleasant prices.

Wonderful green area, awesome beach. A big minus is the beach-fighting scammers, it's tedious to keep an ear sharp with them, especially with a long-haired curly one, in no case give money in advance, you can say goodbye)))) The food is quite normal, especially the dinners. My wife and I dreamed of a quiet paradise place to relax! A dream come true!!! A small cozy hotel on the "peninsula" wherever you look from the room, there is an ocean everywhere! Take the 2nd floor! There is so much greenery that on the first day we thought our eyes would burst))) There are few people and no cattle! I haven't heard a single scream in 10 days! Well, except for palm squirrels) they're chipmunks… There are A LOT of them out there! But they're cute and they get used to people quickly! Buy them nuts!
• Kitchen ... For those who are used to relaxing in Turkish tents, it will certainly be unusual there. Because the variety of dishes is very diverse)) I really didn't know what to eat for a couple of days! BUT everything that is cooked is delicious!!! And keep in mind, you can take some POTATOES and not eat them because your eye is twitching acutely!))) So ask the staff if it's acute or not! They love pepper))
• Rooms… Everything is clean! All the furniture is alive) condey did not let you down! The mattress of truth raised questions, but we are simple people) I lay down and fell asleep! For those who are afraid... THERE are NO INSECTS and SPIDERS!!!) Only small geckos! This is about the room! But on the territory of the hotel there are monitor lizards, mongooses (or something similar), and flying FOXES!
• Well, and such an important point at the last: if you don't be, don't be in English ... it will be hard! Russian is not used there!
• And here's another thing: if you need a local "decider", well, there, get something (brought us a bottle of Rum and juice AT NIGHT)), go somewhere, excursions, where to eat and so on… Find SILVIO on the beach (he is in one photo)! All the locals know him there! I VOUCH for him!!!

Gorgeous location, washed by the ocean on three sides, with ocean views from all balconies. The hotel is not big, but very cozy. Singing squirrels run around the territory, monitor lizards and iguanas walk. You can see a chameleon. A turtle swims to the hotel every morning. A completely deserted beach. The disadvantage is that it is very far from the airport.
