The museum is worth visiting as it displays a range of paintings, century-old to new, so you can immerse in the whole art progression and witness how the environment imposed changes onto artistic perception, expression, and values over time.
Spacious, various expositions, many interesting exhibits, beautiful paintings, sculptures and objects of artistic and historical value. I really liked it. There are several armchairs on the third floor where you can relax before continuing the inspection.)))
A very large museum, saturated mainly with Central Asian art, One can feel the atmosphere inspired by nomadic culture, but not only. There are no classical works here, mostly modern art (since the time of the late USSR).
The museum has a solid collection, so it's worth setting aside 3 hours for the museum for sure. Admission costs 500 tenge, and visits to all halls, including temporary exhibitions, are included. The museum mainly houses works by Kazakh artists, both modern and late USSR. It was interesting to see modern interpretations of Kazakh ethnicity (on the ground floor). The museum features paintings from the Dutch, Italian, French, German and Flemish schools of the 16th and 19th centuries. In the Russian hall you can see the works of Kustodiev, Petrov-Vodkin, Serov, Aivazovsky, Shishkin, etc. But there were few of them, mostly sketches.
The museum did not have a unified navigation system, and there were no brochures with the museum plan, which caused inconvenience when visiting the halls. This is the only negative
An interesting and atmospheric place for tourists who want to get to know the culture of Kazakhstan better. I liked it very much. 500 tenge is sooo not expensive for an entrance ticket.
If someone is not ready to look at carpets and paintings considering it boring .....you are not here alas((
For the rest , I recommend 👍
I consider the Abylkhan Kasteev Museum to be one of the best museums in the republic. It contains collections of paintings by both world and Kazakhstani artists. The museum often organizes various exhibitions, fairs and sales of local craftsmen and manufacturers of jewelry, handmade souvenirs, as well as clothes that are of high quality and unique, as they are made piece by piece.
An iconic place. I would like the museum to be a place of worship. The exhibitions of paintings were more diverse and interesting.
More expositions of contemporary artists . They constantly exhibit paintings from the storerooms. Boring
It is very beautiful, there are many interesting expositions, they conduct interesting excursions for school students, they tell interesting stories about the work of each exposition, in short, I advise you to visit this museum
The museum is excellent, the number of exhibits relative to the entrance price is amazing, the only point is that I would like more annotations to the halls and some route, because the halls are arranged in a strange order, and to go through everything, you have to come back often
I'm not a fan of museums, but it's really very interesting here! I especially liked the hall of foreign art. I went there as part of a tour and there wasn't enough time to check out all the exhibits, but those that I managed to see are impressive.
The museum, which was included in the list of must-visit places for me in Almaty and I have never regretted it.
There are a lot of beautiful paintings and modern sculptures that will make you think, and some will make you smile. In general, they will definitely not leave you indifferent.
The A. Kasteev Museum of Art, impressions, expositions, exhibitions, creativity, painting, staff, everything works fine, I've been there several times, I liked everything 🤗🫶😍
A very interesting museum. It was my first time.I liked everything.I took my 8-year-old granddaughter with me.She was interested too.beautiful paintings.interesting exhibits.in general.if you want to spend time usefully and relax in an atmosphere of peace and quiet.enjoy the beauty of what he saw.visit this museum.I recommend
The museum features many paintings of various artistic trends, carpets, including felting techniques, a few antique jewelry and sculptural compositions. There are not many people, it is spacious. 3 floors, the main exposition is on the 2nd, a little on the 3rd, on the ground floor there is a ticket office, souvenirs, a wardrobe, a cafe.
As for the impression, I will say that it is certainly not worth comparing with the famous art galleries, but the museum is worthy of attention and I can recommend visiting it.
There are many interesting paintings collected in themed halls. On the ground floor there are 2 stunning exhibitions with carpets of unreal beauty and national costumes.
An amazing gallery where you can spend time with great pleasure and benefit, relax your soul. It is difficult to examine everything in detail at one time. Wonderful temporary exhibitions.
I got there by accident, but I was just delighted with the visit, I realized that I did not know Kazakhstan at all, although we live nearby! A very good exposition, a lot of interesting new knowledge about this country! I admire the artists of Kazakhstan!
I really liked the museum. Both the space and the exposition. All the information was clear even without the tour. The air conditioners are working, which is very important in hot weather.
It was interesting to visit this museum, everything is beautiful on the ground floor and informative, but the second floor with paintings by a modern writer did not impress me at all.
There are paintings by famous world artists (old fund). There is nothing useful from the modern one. There are few stupid sculptures without historical or artistic value.
You can kill time in the rain.
The toilet is always freshly smoked.
Complete trash!
The museum is quite large and interesting, but, unfortunately, not exciting. There are a lot of paintings and exhibits from different eras, authors and meanings. The structure of the museum itself does not have, you can get lost and not see everything, or vice versa, walk several times in the same place. In general, the museum is good, no more
A good museum, 🖼️ true excursions 🚶 taxi 🏞️ well, some 〽️ are in principle a very good place and there are tablets to see the history of this painting or statue, so top 👆
It's a very beautiful place. I really liked the statuettes of angels, and there are also very beautiful paintings (as seen in the photo). The white horses are very cute and there was a blue horse in the middle of them (couldn't take it off)
The museum is wonderful, a very high-quality selection of paintings by Russian, foreign, Soviet and contemporary artists. The employees are polite and helpful. If you ask a question, they will answer, show and tell you. I enjoyed visiting the museum with my grandchildren, and then with my daughter.
A very curious museum, the temporary exposition of modern art is interesting, although the general exposition is not exciting. Probably because they say many museums have been transferred to Astana. In parallel, there was a personal exhibition by Aizhan Bekkulova -it was beautiful!
A wonderful museum!!! Don't get bored for a minute. Paintings by new talented artists and works by modern sculptors of Kazakhstan are collected. A unique collection of jewelry, both traditional and modern. Kazakh handmade carpets are presented. The new exhibition is assembled with taste. I recommend everyone to visit the Kasteev Museum.
The State Museum is a place where the history and way of life of the Kazakh people is captured in the moment... 4 huge halls for 500 tenge - unprecedented luxury!
For 1,500 tenge +2 halls of anthropology and precious products!
Cool museum 🔥 there are classic and modern works. Paintings by not only Soviet and Russian artists, but also artists of Kazakhstan. In general, aesthetic pleasure is provided for an acceptable price.
A wonderful museum with a large collection of paintings, sculptures, graphic works by Kazakhstani and foreign masters of different periods. There is an Art studio for children who love to draw or who want to learn this skill. Exhibitions of modern and ancient artists, sculptors, and photographers from other museums are held.
One of the old museums of the city. Located in the upper part of the city, in summer the building is surrounded by greenery, near a bus stop, a river. Reasonable price. I am glad that there are many of our youth and foreigners among the visitors. The special atmosphere, the smell, and the warm air somehow pacifies. I want to take my time. It's like the first time you look at all the paintings, and you think what kind of legacy the artists have left us. Paintings can be purchased on the ground floor. There is a cafe for a snack. And a boutique of handmade Carpets, but this is a separate topic. In general, I recommend it for recreation.
The best museum of fine arts in Almaty, take a guided tour, a fascinating immersion in the history of not only painting, but also Kazakhstan is guaranteed. The museum is large, you can walk for a long time and enjoy.
A wonderful museum! I've loved him since childhood. Both old masters and modern art. Cozy and good atmosphere. The smell, the parquet, the exhibits.
It's just a pity that the east hall was removed. There were big beautiful Chinese vases, bone fans with fine carvings, costumes...
By the way, it's time to go))
I will add photos later.. I can't find a phone in the mess..
Art in its purest form. ..There is no "Soul Day" at the gym or at work. However, it should be. It's a pity that it's only a day... and not a permanent condition... A place for learning and inspiration.
An interesting idea with moving pictures, I wanted to see more paintings, but I got to an exhibition of weaving products. And unfortunately I got to the moment when the director and the delegation were going around the museum... Well, you know, they were kicked out of one hall, it was unpleasant, the overall impression immediately fell.
Kasteev Museum... It is a part of our history and culture... There are always interesting exhibitions and exhibits... It's cool in the museum in winter, so dress warmly... I went to see Utkin's work... His paintings are warm, cozy, radiating kindness...
The most gorgeous museum, you can walk here for hours, it's strange that there aren't many people, apparently they didn't come on the most popular day, it's very interesting, many objects make you think
The museum covers art from ancient applied to modern. Outside in the park there are sculptures and modern installations.
There is a shop of paintings, carpets and a buffet, but I did not find a souvenir shop.
I recommend you to visit
The best themed museum in the city, always interesting. Exhibitions of classical artists and new talents are periodically held, as well as meetings and memorial evenings
A wonderful museum, many interesting works of art by modern masters and masters of previous years. In my opinion, it would be possible to arrange more modern works using IT technologies. It's a pity there is no cozy authentic cafe, no souvenirs.
I definitely advise citizens and guests of the city to visit, there is always something to admire, exhibitions of interesting artists and artisans, I really love this place
Those who live in Almaty should visit the Kasteev Museum at least once. My children and I went to the museum several times. Once they even got to the Shilov exhibition. In principle, it's not bad, but there were more exhibits and paintings before.
