Spacious, various expositions, many interesting exhibits, beautiful paintings, sculptures and objects of artistic and historical value. I really liked it. There are several armchairs on the third floor where you can relax before continuing the inspection.)))

A very large museum, saturated mainly with Central Asian art, One can feel the atmosphere inspired by nomadic culture, but not only. There are no classical works here, mostly modern art (since the time of the late USSR).

The museum has a solid collection, so it's worth setting aside 3 hours for the museum for sure. Admission costs 500 tenge, and visits to all halls, including temporary exhibitions, are included. The museum mainly houses works by Kazakh artists, both modern and late USSR. It was interesting to see modern interpretations of Kazakh ethnicity (on the ground floor). The museum features paintings from the Dutch, Italian, French, German and Flemish schools of the 16th and 19th centuries. In the Russian hall you can see the works of Kustodiev, Petrov-Vodkin, Serov, Aivazovsky, Shishkin, etc. But there were few of them, mostly sketches.
The museum did not have a unified navigation system, and there were no brochures with the museum plan, which caused inconvenience when visiting the halls. This is the only negative

An interesting and atmospheric place for tourists who want to get to know the culture of Kazakhstan better. I liked it very much. 500 tenge is sooo not expensive for an entrance ticket.
If someone is not ready to look at carpets and paintings considering it boring .....you are not here alas((

I consider the Abylkhan Kasteev Museum to be one of the best museums in the republic. It contains collections of paintings by both world and Kazakhstani artists. The museum often organizes various exhibitions, fairs and sales of local craftsmen and manufacturers of jewelry, handmade souvenirs, as well as clothes that are of high quality and unique, as they are made piece by piece.

I'm not a fan of museums, but it's really very interesting here! I especially liked the hall of foreign art. I went there as part of a tour and there wasn't enough time to check out all the exhibits, but those that I managed to see are impressive.

The museum features many paintings of various artistic trends, carpets, including felting techniques, a few antique jewelry and sculptural compositions. There are not many people, it is spacious. 3 floors, the main exposition is on the 2nd, a little on the 3rd, on the ground floor there is a ticket office, souvenirs, a wardrobe, a cafe.
As for the impression, I will say that it is certainly not worth comparing with the famous art galleries, but the museum is worthy of attention and I can recommend visiting it.

One of the old museums of the city. Located in the upper part of the city, in summer the building is surrounded by greenery, near a bus stop, a river. Reasonable price. I am glad that there are many of our youth and foreigners among the visitors. The special atmosphere, the smell, and the warm air somehow pacifies. I want to take my time. It's like the first time you look at all the paintings, and you think what kind of legacy the artists have left us. Paintings can be purchased on the ground floor. There is a cafe for a snack. And a boutique of handmade Carpets, but this is a separate topic. In general, I recommend it for recreation.

A wonderful museum! I've loved him since childhood. Both old masters and modern art. Cozy and good atmosphere. The smell, the parquet, the exhibits.
It's just a pity that the east hall was removed. There were big beautiful Chinese vases, bone fans with fine carvings, costumes...

And unfortunately I got to the moment when the director and the delegation were going around the museum...
