The mill was built in 1883 in Rechitsa, and in 1924 it was bought by a peasant from the village. The Lyady of the Zhlobinsky district, Savely Nikolaevich Fomenok, was transferred to his farm, and in 1927 the miller was dispossessed and sent to the Solovetsky camps. On April 4, 1938, Melnik was shot in a special GULAG settlement. The mill survived the Great Patriotic War and began to deteriorate. The collective farm could not cope with its repair and in the 1960s it was switched to electric traction and so it continued to work until 1999. But since no one was involved in repairs in the future, a significant part of all wooden elements, starting from the lower crown and ending with the wings, became dilapidated or simply rotted away.
In 1996, by the decision of the Zhlobinsky district executive committee, the windmill was transferred to S. Fomenko's heiress, his daughter Anastasia, and a few years later she presented it to Vladimir Bykhovtsev, an entrepreneur from the Svetlogorsk district, who moved the mill to his Nikolin Island farmstead
The mill is collapsing. Access road through the forest. It is unlikely to be possible to drive in rainy weather or after winter. Maybe there was a good place before, but now everything is in disrepair. Even driving by, I don't see any point in stopping by, let alone a purposeful visit.
