More than five years ago, my grandson was diagnosed with bronchial obstruction. How and where we have not been treated. Several friends advised me to go for treatment to the sanatorium "CHON TUZ", which is located in the Naryn region of Kyrgyzstan, near the village of Kochkorka. We studied the reviews and posts available on the Internet for a very long time. However, there was extremely insufficient information about Chong Ace. Therefore, I decided to write about everything in more detail.
In August 2024, after phoning in advance and booking a room, taking lung X-rays and tests for AIDS and RW, we managed to visit this unique, magical place for the first time. Having read both the positive and negative aspects, we have set ourselves one single goal – we eat for treatment, we will not pay attention to the rest.
We traveled on our own from Bishkek's western bus station on the Bishkek-Kochkorka minibus at 150 som per person. From Kochkorka, we took a taxi to the Chon-tuz sanatorium for 200 som per person. The distance from Kochkorka to the sanatorium is 30-35 km.
At the sanatorium, we were met by a young, intelligent, polite leader Islam. He met us in a friendly manner, fulfilled all the booking obligations that we asked for during a preliminary conversation with him on the phone. After a long, tiring journey, we had the opportunity to settle down and relax in our room, and then have lunch. The conditions of stay in the sanatorium are different depending on the room category you choose - to your taste and pocket: economy, standard, junior suite and suite. The cost is from 3,000 to 9,000 SOM per bed. There is no need to dwell on the room, because you will have to spend a short time here - only during the day. Meals are organized for everyone the same in the dining room. The food was modest, but it was quite sufficient and tasty for us: soups, second course, porridges, pastries, compote, tea to choose from, etc. After lunch, we were examined by medical staff, walked around the green territory of the sanatorium, talked with the regulars of the sanatorium, who repeatedly come here and are treated. The people we were lucky enough to talk to are friendly and friendly. The most important thing is that everyone we talked to confirmed receiving a positive result from the mine. In general, we felt comfortable and even made friends. Not only the local population receives treatment and rests here, people come here from Kazakhstan, Russia, and Uzbekistan.
The mountain air in the area where the sanatorium is located is clean and fresh, Nature, in my opinion, is magnificent. A bubbling mountain river flows near the sanatorium and inside the territory at the entrance, the beautiful sound of which calms. The staff of the sanatorium is friendly and helpful. None of our requests were ignored.
But the most important advantage of the sanatorium is a unique treatment in an underground salt mine, in modern language in a speleological clinic. We were there every day for 12 hours, namely from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. I recommend that anyone who decides to come here take care of warm winter clothes. The air temperature in the mine is kept at 7-8oC. Despite the fact that the director of the sanatorium warned us about this, we did not fully believe it. Of course, we took jackets for the children, and warm autumn clothes for ourselves, but on the spot we realized that we had to take only light, comfortable winter clothes. While you're walking around the salt mine, the cold doesn't really bother you, but if you sit down to chat or watch a movie or go to bed, you immediately realize that you're not dressed very warmly.
We began to feel the positive effect of the mine closer to our departure. On the 9th day, for the first time in recent days, the child did not need a bronchodilator inhaler, he spent the nights quietly. Unfortunately, we spent only 12 days in the sanatorium, where, on the advice and recommendations of the regular regulars, we realized that it was necessary to stay for the first three years for a longer time – at least 17 days. Apparently, therefore, upon arrival, after a while they returned to the bronchodilator inhaler, and perhaps the effect will manifest itself later.
Chong tuz is a magical place. A place that helps prevent a number of diseases, and above all diseases of the respiratory system. For anyone who has problems with the respiratory system, rhinitis, allergic reactions, I recommend visiting this place. I am sure that the conditions in the mine will improve from year to year. The main thing is that the mine helps people! I bow low to those who keep it in working order and give sick people a chance to recover. We will come back here more than once! This is a sanatorium, not a resort, this must be taken into account before the trip, the treatment takes place in a natural salt cave, you need to spend the night there, the effect is there, I want to believe that the owner will soon improve living conditions, and they have already started, well done, the staff is sincere, responsive, the nurse is Kunduz ezhe fire, the food is good, but I would like more variety and meat, after all, the course of treatment for 16 days is too heavy on the diet menu, I would like more animation, in general, a unique place, I recommend it to allergy sufferers and asthmatics.
