The best national food in Abkhazia.
•The hodgepodge is super, khachapur is excellent, the beans are delicious, the compotes are homemade.
•Please note that there is no European cuisine and soups. This is an authentic place with very tasty national cuisine.
•WiFi facilities are available, toilet is clean, service is fast, prices are average.

Don't even think about it, just swallow your tongue. It's delicious, like in a fairy tale. There is no children's menu, let them take a bite. And for adults, the grace is a bunch of national dishes, wine, magic coffee, and a tent over the river... or a hall with a fireplace and skins.… And the prices are affordable. After a long walk, it was time to go home to Gagra, but we were very hungry, and the delicious dining room in New Athos, which we usually visit in the summer, was closed. Shurik was invited to go to apatkha, according to him, there was a very pleasant atmosphere and delicious homemade food.
We found the place almost immediately, it was located in the area of the turn to Pitsunda. Apatkha is a traditional cuisine in the courtyard of an Abkhazian house. The walls of the apache are woven from walnut vines, so cunningly that the visit is simultaneously ventilated, but not cooled. In the middle of the apatkha there is a double hearth for cooking.
We ordered ailaj (corn porridge with the addition of a large amount of cheese), Abkhazian meat with pork and goat meat (lamb, unfortunately, was not available), as well as kharcho, solyanka and feijoa compote. The food was really delicious, and the portions were quite large. It's a good thing we didn't order anything else, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to finish eating.
Shurik was right! It was really delicious, a lot, atmospheric and at an affordable price! On this satisfying note, the day came to an end and we went to rest.

We visited this wonderful cafe with the whole family. The atmosphere is very cozy and pleasant. In the center there is a barbecue on which meat is smoked or fried right in front of your eyes. From soups, they ordered Grub with nuts and a hodgepodge. They had an incredible taste that you won't taste anywhere else but this place. We also took 2 boats with an egg. They caused only positive emotions. Smoked meat, cooked inimitably delicious.
The doggie standing at the entrance pleases visitors with its friendliness.
I will definitely return to this cafe to eat so delicious again and enjoy the atmosphere and friendly people)

When we go, we always stop by to eat with them first. We charge up with energy and positivity there and the whole trip after that goes off with a bang!
I recommend fried trout, dogwood compote and khachapuri.

Even on the way to Sukhum, we decided to stop here to taste the traditional cuisine, which we did. They cook over a campfire right for you. Very tasty. We took hominy specially - the sauce and cheese for it are beyond praise. Pickles are also very unusual, but very tasty. Shish kebab is more for amateurs, as I understand it in Abkhazia, it is cooked in its own way: boiled, and then fried - this is for an amateur. But in general, it is a must-visit place to make your first impression of Abkhazia. Here she is in all her culinary glory.

We stopped by for dinner after looking at the reviews. I liked everything: super smoked meat, fish, beans, cheese, khachapuri... They are cooked right there on an open fire. It's open at 7 p.m. in the evening, and many are closing.
It is clear that Caucasian cuisine is spicy and not everything is suitable for children.

If you want to eat the national Abkhazian food, go here. Please note that the set of dishes is not large. The food is hearty, the portions are large. The taste is not adapted to European preferences. Fresh hominy, Abkhazian solyanka and spicy beans. Smoked meat is tough. But all these are not disadvantages, but the specifics of the kitchen. The service is friendly and friendly. The interior is rough with a pronounced national accent. The prices are not high
In general, this is more of an ethnopark than a place for an exquisite meal. But that's exactly what I wanted at the time of the visit.
