I will dilute the positive reviews.
We ordered a cradle - the taste of stale meat, very salty. The pilaf was served cold.
Only khachapur pleased me. The service is rubbish. I went to get the menu myself, then we waited for the waiter to order for 15 minutes, then she served us, loudly scolded the guests at the next table for feeding the dog.
We won't be coming back here anymore.

I read reviews and I don't believe it!!! I was in September 2024 and I was very disappointed!!! We made an order-as a result, almost everything is not tasty or tasteless at all. Only the mutton was edible. The kebab had the smell of a refrigerator -not fresh obviously. But this is half the trouble-the rat family just lives and feeds on visitors!!!

Cafe "Chegem" in Sukhum is located right on the embankment. Nearby is the Chegem restaurant. We were both there and there, I liked it more in the cafe. The food is delicious, but the waiting time is long, and sometimes you need to wait for the table to be cleared. I especially liked the fried trout, shawarma, and lamb kebab.

We were in Sukhum at the end of August 2022, walked along the Embankment, wandered into Chegem. And for good reason, they ate delicious and inexpensive. Chegem is a cafe of Turkish cuisine, halal (do not eat pork). The range is not very large, but there is plenty to choose from. We were with our daughter, ordered a khachapur boat for each, one portion of beef kebab, one shawarma and baklava. Shish kebab and shawarma were brought forward by khachapurov and we were a little crazy - the portions are large!!! Meat in a kebab is served with vegetables (baked tomatoes and hot pepper) and pilaf (!), the meat was 240g, in general it's just a lot of food; shawarma - well, 500 grams for sure, with a delicious sauce and lots of meat. And then they brought the boats, I already figured out how to photograph it, for the sake of history, it's just a pity that I didn't stretch out my palm, to understand the size - it's huge))) in general, we took khachapuri and baklava home, and ate with pleasure in the morning - the quality did not suffer overnight. Delicious!
The order was accepted from us quickly, but do not count on general promptness - this is not about Chegem))) in the evening there is a large influx of people, in the afternoon just no one is in a hurry))) and there's no reason - you're on vacation! By the way, we also came in the afternoon before leaving, asked to make a barbecue with us right away, so we packed it very superbly in a pizza box and on the train in the evening we enjoyed a wonderful meal and there was still some left in the morning👍
The prices are adequate, the evening check includes a 5% tip, in the afternoon you leave as much as you deem necessary. We liked it, you will be on the embankment in Sukhum - I recommend you to come in.

Nice place with a nice view. The service is not very bad, the waiters are attentive, the food is served quickly. A pilaf cradle is one of the best options I've tried. Pizza is also worth attention. If you can't get into the vaunted sled in the evenings, then you can almost always find an empty table in Chegem, or it's about to be free, you don't need to stand in line for hours ...
We visited twice and both times left well-fed and satisfied. The prices will please, the portions too. In general, I definitely recommend this place. We will definitely come back to Sukhum.
