Good day to everyone.
We have recently returned from Gagra, where we had a rest in a boarding house, "Chegem ".
From the first minute of our appearance, we were surrounded with care and attention. The location is simply stunningly beautiful.
The hotel is located on a mountain elevation, to the sea by steps and through an underground passage literally 7-8 minutes
at a leisurely pace.
The room stock is the usual economy options. Cleaning was constantly carried out, bed linen was changed once a week. The furniture is old, but solid.
If you need renovation and modern furniture, you are definitely not here.
But who comes here for what.
We came for the sea and the mountain air. We got it.
Magnificent views from the balconies and the common loggia to the sea and mountains.
Every morning and evening we admired the magnificent sunrises and mesmerizing sunsets.
The food is delicious, hearty and always fresh. Thanks a lot to the girl chefs and waiters.
There were no interruptions with the water in the room, it was always hot and cold.
There were no problems with the elevators - they worked like clockwork.
It so happened that our vacation fell on September 30 - the Independence Day of Abkhazia.
On this day, according to the good old tradition, the boarding house organized a holiday for employees and vacationers.
It was so unexpected! Gorgeous tables that were bursting with an abundance of all kinds of goodies and drinks and an organized disco.
Very pleasant. I've been traveling for many years, but this is the first time I've seen this.
Rest in "Chegem" will remain in memory for a long time. Thanks to everyone involved in my most cherished memories!
May God grant prosperity to the hotel, grateful vacationers, and regular customers.
I recommend. Uniquely.
Who is going to rest there to weigh all the pros and cons for themselves . If you need repairs and beautiful furniture, you definitely don't need it. Excellent location and proximity to the sea , then you are here . Yes , there is no repair , food is minimal , Wi-Fi is weak ... But for 2,600 rubles per day per person = price - quality . I rested from September 18 to 25 , there was water and light , I understood where I was going for such money. Thanks to the adequate staff and the friendly director.
Excellent location of Chegem, mountain elevation, 7 minutes from the sea. Accessible location of public transport. The food is delicious, the waiters serve. The room stock is not very modern, but the main thing is the sea, nature, mountain air. The staff is very friendly, convenient wifi. A girl is sitting at the entrance to the dining room, offering excursions. If you skip lunch or dinner, they always give you a dry ration, which is very convenient. The rooms are cleaned daily, which is very pleasing. We highly recommend you to rest, you will not regret it!!!!
There was no inside of the building, but from the outside it is clear that repairs were done there during the USSR before the war! Even the echo of the war can be "felt" by climbing the hill behind this building. There are still traces of either shrapnel or shell fragments.
And the building itself is very well located in relation to the landscape.
Major repairs are very, very necessary and there will be a LOT of guests!))
Good afternoon, dear applicants for housing on the Black Sea coast, or to be more precise, in the city of Gagra. By chance, the choice fell on housing in the Chegem boarding house. We leave an honest review, a Soviet-era boarding house, everything is preserved in it as it is. It didn't bother us young guys in any way. On the contrary, it's great! The rooms are clean, no frills. A wonderful woman, Alla, works at the boarding house, very pleasant and good-natured, cleaned our room every day. Wi-Fi works whenever it wants, but for whom it does not matter, you can not count. The room has its own balcony with sea view. There were no problems with the water in the room, it was always hot and cold. Our trip to Gagra was supposed to last until the 12th, but due to illness, we had to leave earlier. By informing the staff, the director of this boarding house. They asked for a refund for the days that they did not live. We received an answer: OK, leave, we will go to a meeting and give you the money. Then they explained that they couldn't give it back today, because the banks were closed, and we had to leave early in the morning. As a result, they agreed that they would transfer it to the card the next day, left a phone number (for transfer), and the amount for 4 days. But a couple of days have passed, and the money has not been returned. Most likely, they did not intend to from the very beginning, but they will simply put the difference in their pocket. We were disappointed in the honesty of the staff of this Boarding House.
A wonderful place from the USSR, a large-scale building, but now, you find yourself in a smelly unsanitary ruin riddled with various insects and bacteria, in a couple of days it pours out of all your cracks like a bucket, if you think that you will be carried away, then you are mistaken!!! Rotavirus is walking dangerously!!!
I regret that I went to this particular boarding house.
in short: complete unsanitary conditions, the rooms are not cleaned, the closet in the room is without half the doors and does not close (the way it is open in the photo, it was closed before), the beds are creaky, the mattresses are sagged, the pillows are wooden and they have been living for many years. the door to the balcony does not close, all the windows are broken (not only in the room), the tables are shabby.
I can't even praise the kitchen here, on the next day of arrival, almost the entire boarding house was poisoned, if you're lucky, they'll just give you a coveted meal, if you're not lucky, choke on mold (and this is not enough in the photo, all the tomatoes were white on other tables). throughout the entire "vacation", pleas for help were heard from the rooms of the poisoned people.
Verdict: I do not recommend it
Good afternoon! And first of all, I welcome the employees of Chegem, I hope they will read it too. This place is unique, primarily in terms of species characteristics-it's incredible, especially on the 8th floor where absolutely every guest of Chegem can admire the beauty from a height. The sea opens up ahead of us with incredible sunsets, on the right and on the left side majestic mountains-AMAZING! The food is very tasty and everything is fresh, the dishes are clean, the dining room is large and also with a sea view. The staff are polite and kind people, special thanks to Alla and Asmat! As for the rooms, but it's who comes for what, it's not euro, but this non-modern furniture also has its charms, the spirit of that Soviet time, the furniture is not broken, it's just not modern, but it was only for my joy. The atmosphere of this place is palpable from the first step, monumental, tasteful and all in a kind way. It was not my first time in Gagra and I stayed in different places, but nowhere was it as good as in Chegem. Thank you to everyone involved in my warmest memories! I sincerely hope to see you again!
Citizens, NEVER rest in this hotel.
My family and I arrived on 08/17/24 to rest for two weeks in Abkhazia and our vacation was ruined on the very first day.
Complete antispitarianism, complete collapse.
Ants on the bed, dirty old martens, dirt, hot water three times a day!!! The elevator is very old, there is dirt and ruin everywhere.
There are flies at lunch..
In general, we both arrived and left on the first day and with two small children, we spent the night looking for an apartment.
It was terrible.
We are preparing a claim to the COURT!
I do not recommend this place to anyone, ever.
The photos on the site do not correspond to reality!!!
In July 2024, our group was vacationing at the Chegem Hotel. I read the previous reviews, I fundamentally disagree. In the USSR, there has never been such a bigoted attitude towards guests. I don't know for what sins, I got room 322. The air conditioner, my age, or maybe even older, hummed like a decent tractor. The linen was not changed. I had to remind you about cleaning the room. There was no water in the toilet for hours, just at the time when the rotovirus was "caught". The faucet in the sink was constantly flowing (not dripping, but fully flowing). When I asked him to repair it, the manager said that there is a lot of water in the rivers in Abkhazia, and if the sound annoys me, then earplugs help. I didn't see any plumbing or earplugs until the end of the race. One iron and one electric kettle, which is located in the dining room) on all floors of the hotel. An employee of the hotel Angela accused of stealing a cup from the dining room (honestly, she asked the kitchen staff for the time of arrival. It is unrealistic to bring boiling water from the dining room in the hall to the room on the third floor). I won't repeat myself about Wi-Fi. Describe the room too, the photos will tell you everything. Not a single kind word about the balcony.
On the territory near the track (which no one sweeps) a pit, mountains of garbage, there is not a single good bench. In my opinion, the swing needs instructions on how to use it.
I want to thank Asmat. Friendly, always smiling, ready to help everyone. Also, thanks to the staff of the dining room, and special thanks to the waitress girls for their positive attitude, for their hard work. The food is unusual for the stomachs of Russian tourists. Perhaps you should put less local spices.
A very sincere holiday home, I would call it back to the USSR.I put all the stars for the price, it is very pleasant, for the staff, especially the director. Very tasty food and the view from the room or from the shared balconies is just breathtaking!
In general, if you do not need renovation and all the civilizations of the world, but you just want to relax with all your soul and on a budget, then you are here.
The sea is 5-7 minutes away at a very slow pace, the rooms have a shower, toilet, refrigerators in the lobby, there are enough for everyone, since you are trying in the dining room.
A half-abandoned old boarding house, all from the USSR. Rooms with old furniture, bathrooms are dead, poorly renovated. They are fed 3 times a day, but not a buffet, and the choice / quality leaves much to be desired. It's a long way to the sea, through garbage dumps and an underground passage. Go uphill from the sea. It's a disgusting place!!!
Great view from the shared balcony, the rooms also have a balcony (depending on which side you're lucky)
Two white towels, clean bed linen , t/b and soap.
Convenient location, you can get there both by car and on foot.
We need urgent repairs of everything😬
The smell of old furniture in the room "screams" about it
The elevator worked very rarely, after the heat of the street , it was oh , how difficult it was to climb to the 6th floor.
➖There was no air conditioning in the room
There were power outages a couple of times, the Internet worked very often poorly
The watch with keys worked only until 00:00, then the main door was locked with a key and the woman went to bed.
But we came to rest and spent as much time as possible on the street until late.
We came back late and knocked, knocked , when they opened the door for us .
If you want to visit the USSR. You don't need a time machine for that. You can just come to the Chegem boarding house in Gagra.
The authenticity and chic of those times are fully preserved here. Instead of the reception desk, the person on duty is on duty. A board with hooks where you need to hang room keys.
The contents of the rooms also most likely have not changed since the time of construction. Small wooden beds, a wardrobe, a table and chairs. The toilet is a separate song. The gray, square tiles created the feeling that they had entered the interiors of another Zvyagintsev movie theater.
Hot water on schedule. Canteen. I won't talk about the interiors. I'll tell you about the food. The food is really satisfying. Several positions are offered for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For example, for breakfast they could immediately give porridge, pancakes and sandwiches with butter. For lunch, in addition to the main dishes, there is almost always fruit, for dinner they sometimes indulged in ice cream. In Abkhazia, they like seasonings. They add them everywhere and a lot. Because of this, dishes often have a specific taste. You need to keep in mind. Most of the guests were very satisfied with the food.
Despite the listed nuances, you can stop at Chegem for several reasons. Views from the rooms. It is located on a hill, so every morning and evening you will see sunsets the color of pink flamingos. Admire the sea and the mountains.
It takes 10 minutes to walk to the sea. The sea is very clean. At the same time, you are not in the epicenter of evening activities. Although the music from the cafe is often heard in the evenings. It didn't bother us. Chegem is located in the middle between the old and new Gagra, there is a bus stop nearby, it is not far to go to any of these parts. The infrastructure is also suitable for every taste, there are many cafes, shops, and ATMs nearby.
What will be more important when choosing is up to you. My personal score is three points. Given the low price tag, it is quite possible to consider this option with a limited budget.
Of the advantages: nature, the sea is warm, the beach is not crowded, the food in the boarding house is good. That's all. Of the cons: the elevator did not work at all, they always walked up the stairs, the Internet did not work well, and on the 3rd day it stopped altogether, when asked "why", the administration said that it was not their problem; the lights were turned off for the whole day; everyone in the boarding house got sick on the 3rd day; the staff is always not happyThey are rude, the janitor shouts that they did not hang up the keys
If you want to return to the USSR, then you are here, the rooms correspond, but the beds do not creak, sleep comfortably, the old room stock, but the food is 10+, everything is always fresh and delicious and pastries and sausage and fruits, water according to schedule, but it was convenient for us, we never sat without water, you can rent take soft sun beds for 30 rubles a day and an umbrella for 30 rubles a day, there is Wi-Fi, sometimes there was no room in the lobby, there is always a TV in the lobby for those who wish. We had a rest with a big family, we never regretted it, we were comfortable.
Well, what can I say, the food is without frills, like in a pioneer camp and it's not bad! The rooms were cleaned, the bed linen was changed. There must have been a cool vacation home at one time, but now everything is very sad. The water is hot on time, there are power outages, which means the elevator may not work. Location, second line. Old shabby furniture, there are no basic things in the bathroom, no curtains in the bathroom, no hangers for clothes and towels, no doormat. There are no air conditioners. The building itself surrounds the private sector. It used to be very noisy. The territory is not bad. I would like to sit in the garden in the evening, but there is not a single bench to relax. The staff is probably not bad, they are engaged in entrepreneurship, they sell homemade wine, rent sun beds and umbrellas for 30 rubles each for a day. But nothing is being done for landscaping. People are coming anyway! I won't go a second time!
I don't recommend it, it's a terrible place. I took the room in a puff and it's a pity that I didn't read the reviews before that.
1) the whole boarding house dumped the virus, 5 days of vacation in the trash
2) terrible smell from the toilet, all over the room. By the way, the toilet does not flush.
3) very dirty, dusty and the smell of old furniture
4) rude granny at the "reception"
5) the claimed Wi-Fi appears only in the morning for an hour and in the evening after 20
6) the claimed air conditioner disperses only dust, and makes worse noise than a tractor. Accordingly, the whole world of insects was in our room, by the way, an aspen nest is spreading on the balcony.
7) There are no laundry services. You can wash things yourself, but dry them .... The rope on the balcony is 40cm long., it's normal for one person, but not enough for a family.
8) there has not been a single cleaning or towel change in 8 days.
9) the elevator does not work, it is difficult for adults to overcome such obstacles in the heat.
10) light outages.
11) there are problems with plumbing, some gusts and all the water flows down the walls, the smell of dampness gives a zest to an already tired building.
There is only one plus, delicious food, a varied menu. But, the conditions in which they cook do not allow you to enjoy.
The place itself is beautiful.the building is much more cheerful outside than inside. Beautiful garden on site, great view from the observation deck.. That's where the advantages end. The management could start to make at least some repairs on a floor-by-floor basis. It's very sad inside. And you can put things in order in the dining room...I have never seen anywhere that they gave porridge for breakfast, one thin piece of cheese and half!!! eggs per person. The complete absence of greenery! And this is in a place where this greenery can be mowed with a scythe! In general, you can put a three.
In Abkhazia for the first time.I will write a more detailed review so that everyone can understand what kind of boarding house this is.Since there is nothing to compare it with, but I have been to many boarding houses and sanatoriums in other cities of the Caucasus, I will say one thing here they feed well, there is no need to look for where to eat.About the rest, of course, everything is old, it smells like junk, it needs major repairs!you can live, at the end of the corridor on each floor there is an observation deck from where you can look at the sea and the city.Walk for 5 minutes through the underpass and then across the road to the sea, we did not walk in the evening, because we are afraid to return through the underpass. There are also steps here, you will have to go up a little to your room, the elevator sometimes does not work. The staff is good, there is no TV, but it is not needed now there are phones and good Wi-Fi in the rooms. In principle, you can live and eat too.To the right of the boarding house on the main road there is a shop with reasonable prices.there is also a stop if you get somewhere.Have a nice rest.I liked Abkhazia, the nature and the sea are awesome!
I was in Abkhazia for the first time, it seems I chose a boarding house, but why did I "fly by" with Chegem... I don't know.
I had a shock when I walked into the room, I can't call IT a room, but the bathroom was just from a horror movie. I haven't seen this holiday home renovated for 40 years, probably. Smiled at the evacuation plan in the room, dated 1983. Everything is falling apart. The administrator is creepy. On my weak attempt to tell about the condition of the bathroom, the woman just started shouting that she didn't like it, go to an expensive hotel, etc. When I asked why she was screaming, the answer was that I always talk like that. Question. Is it worth working in a place where you communicate with people?
Taxi drivers who drove to / from the boarding house said that the owner did not want to do repairs and did not sell. He just cuts the money and that's it.
Yes, the money is not great for the room, but guys, the house is so tired that it's just tryndets. The tank exploded the next day, I went to the administrator. The answer was: "the plumber has been working with us since 9, he will see how he comes." Um... and it kind of ran right there.
Food standards. No choice, no frills, but delicious and simple. Every day there are fresh pastries, one fruit, first, second and compote. It's a long walk to the sea, but not for long. The sea is good. Of course, everyone will try to fuck you, but there are already ears open
I give 2 stars for the food and the story.
I forgot about the elevator. It didn't work. Grandparents were given rooms on the 6th and further floors...Poor devils, how they climbed these steps...
We had a rest at the end of August 2022. We chose Abkhazia for the first time. We were vacationing with a one-year-old child. We were set up for a low level of comfort, but definitely not for this. The bathroom in the room is in terrible condition. The light bulb is hanging on a wire, the external wiring is sticking out, the bathtub and sink are sandpaper-rubbed, the toilet smells, it is squeamish to step on the mat, all faucets have not been changed for 50 years. The water is only on schedule three times a day and I didn't notice it was hot. In the room, the curtains are torn off, they do not protect from the sun, mattresses with protruding springs. The elevator does not work, I had to climb the stairs every time with a child in my arms. It's very hot in the dining room. The food is a little better. Three meals a day, sometimes fruits and buns are provided. The quality can be compared with inexpensive canteens. Of course, you don't want to rest in such conditions anymore.
We had a rest in August 2022. It is a pity that such a building is in a very poor condition. With a competent manager and financing, it would be possible to revive the former greatness. Now about the main thing. Power outages, hot water, plumbing leaks, roofs in the hall and dining room, the presence of mold smell, Soviet-era furniture. There is a constantly non-working elevator, and there are 8 floors. A disco from the sea until 12 o'clock at night. Pros - 10 minutes to the sea, the food is normal. During the 10 days of stay, the menu was not repeated, there were fruits, pastries, even homemade wine. Grocery stores and cafes are nearby. The nature is beautiful, the sea is clean, there are not many people. Although there are a lot of them this year! I wish you to regain your former greatness.
We had a vacation together with our daughter in July 2022. The boarding house is in terrible condition. Of course, I understood when I took a trip here that this was a budget option, but... Not so old ((( the furniture was old, it was scary even to touch it, the smell of junk everywhere, the toilet and shower were in terrible, current condition, it smelled like sewage, the toilet was leaking. The lights were constantly turned off, then the water, then the elevator. But the elevator didn't bother us much, because we mostly walked. The food in the dining room is so-so. We caught rotavirus, and flew out of our vacation for several days ((the administration knows perfectly well that they have rotavirus, to which we were told: "You lasted a long time, usually we start to get sick on the second day." We got sick on the 7th day of our stay. The mood was already spoiled, I didn't want any excursions and entertainment anymore.
From the good that I can say, this is a stunningly clean and emerald-colored sea and beautiful nature. Abkhazia did not come to us the first time. Will we go again, I don't know?
I do not recommend this boarding house "Chegem", even as a budget option.
I entered the reviews by accident and on the Chegem website... The photos looked at the official. the site and your own on the computer... I was horrified... I rested there in 05. I emphasize, 18 years ago.And what do I see? There (in the photo) even the beds are the same! Seriously? What kind of darkness is this? Who has been on vacation recently, tell me: have they even covered up the bullet holes? Did you change the leaky windows? The food was excellent in 05, even wine was served for lunch. I gave it 3 stars
I had a rest in Chegem from June 6 to June 15, 2022.
I'll start with the good, because if I start with the bad, hardly anyone will read to the end).
Good:
A simple, but high-quality and very satisfying portion menu consisting of 2 main dishes and a dessert (pie, bun or fruit), pastries are always fresh and delicious. The second courses are mainly meat (pork, chicken). A variety of soups, all kinds of porridges for breakfast.
Kitchen staff and waiters go to a meeting, if you have to stay late for an excursion, they always leave you to eat.
The administration and staff are helpful and hospitable.
Among the advantages: proximity to the sea, the Prince of Odelburgsky castle and the Gagripsh restaurant (attractions of Gagra), as well as the embankment with many cafes and shops.
Probably, this is all the advantages.
Now about the cons, which, perhaps, will negate the pros for many:
the terrible stench throughout the boarding house of old rags and ruin, which is everywhere and everywhere.
The lack of repair from the word "completely", leaking ceilings in the dining room, shabby walls, then there is no light, then water, then elevators do not work and so on every day...
If you are not demanding and you just need a roof over your head, this is a good budget option.
If you want to get the maximum comfort from your vacation, choose something else)
A simple boarding house with friendly people! The conditions are all in the room. The dining room at the boarding house always prepares fresh and delicious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Therefore, I do not advise you to go to other canteens and catch the infection. Let's come back here again and it is to this boarding house! Thank you Asmat for the organized transfer, kindness and good mood! :)
Very good location, good food, there is Wi-Fi, the building certainly would not hurt to repair, but who goes to the sea and does not chase comfort, is quite a good option.
The photo shows the view from the room.
We rested here in June 2021. It is a pity that the management does not invest ANY funds in the development of the boarding house, although the cost of living is not minimal in this area of Gagra. Everything is VERY old: the furniture, the smell of mustiness, the floor coverings should not be changed for a long time, but they should be removed for sure, the walls are painted with paint, there are chairs on the balcony in which invisible insects live (well, you understand, do not sit down, they will have a snack). There is no cleaning, no hot water except for rooms with boilers. The food is excellent, but the portions could be a little more. Many thanks to the kitchen staff and the administrators who cheer for the place where they work.
There was a nuisance that cost sleepless, tear-soaked days: a phone was stolen from under our noses (by non-vacationers), which was nevertheless returned after my eloquent conversation with the administration. They didn't do anything or do anything until they threatened the police. I noticed that immediately after my ultimatum there was a meeting of ALL the staff of the boarding house, then my thing was returned to me with apologies on behalf of the entire Abkhazian people. The beach is beautiful: the coast is clean, the sea is fabulous. You can get soft sun beds and beach umbrellas from the admins for a fee. There was a very twofold and contradictory impression from visiting this place: beautiful views of the sea and mountains border on a complete lack of comfort. There are shops with the most necessary things nearby, in the evening you can walk along the street with eucalyptus alley. I have not met anywhere that it was written that you need to go to the beach by stairs (through the passage under the railway tracks): It will be difficult for tourists with leg diseases.
An old building that has been in need of repair for a long time. It used to be with interesting architecture and design. Hot water by the hour, 3 times a day. Peeling furniture and terrible plumbing. Among the advantages are a beautiful view, clean linen and responsive dining room staff. The food is quite good, with fresh pastries. Cheap, but for the very unassuming.
Entertainment options include table tennis and a TV in the lobby. The air conditioning in the rooms does not work.
People, why don't you write truthful reviews?! Why don't you add real photos?!
Mom and aunt (70 years old), not spoiled by services, have been vacationing in our resorts of the Krasnodar Territory all their lives, settling into this boarding house they called in horror, with a trembling voice! Everything is mildewed, the smells are terrible!! Everything is so old that it's about to fall apart!
They wanted to move, but they couldn't find anything adequate anymore. In the boarding house itself, they did not even go to a meeting and did not replace the room.
We were going to improve our health, breathe the sea and fresh air, but they breathe mold and mustiness!!
I do not recommend it to anyone! Everything is old, the smell of mustiness, old clothes and mold is everywhere. There has probably been no repair there since the construction of this building. Plumbing is terrible. There has never been a cleaning in 4 days . Female administrators are loud and boorish. The food is more or less.
Chegem. I won't drink that much.
This phrase became our slogan for 10 "unforgettable" days.
We rested together in September, hoping to bask by the sea. In vain.
Old rooms with mold (and this is not a Door Blue for you), a dead bathroom, turning off water and light at night, it's cold outside and in the rooms, turning off the elevator, and like the cherry on the cake is food.
Get ready.
Take a deep breath
The leader of the hit parade is semolina porridge.
A feast of carbohydrates : bread, rolls, porridge, a piece of spread, and half a chicken egg.
For lunch, a transparent soup, a side dish smeared on a plate, and, as if from the heart, a torn piece of pollock that sailed from nowhere to these parts.
The dinner was such that my husband simply stopped coming to it in protest.
It was especially interesting to see almost every day at the distribution of some large packages, from which
a mysterious pollock peeked
out stealthily, then cucumbers, the sight of which we had already forgotten,
then greens, which never happened to decorate the plates of the unfortunate guests of Chegem.
But our hotel guests were getting stronger... We walked along the stairs, washed with cold water, ate semolina, convincing each other to hope for the best, continue to look for the pros and see the positive 🙈
Sometimes the mind returned, and the compatriots, whispering softly, were hopelessly looking for someone who would dare to voice what was happening in front of the leadership of Chegem.
As for us, we approached the director, after which the next day the assortment on the table improved, but only for 1 day.
During the blackout, we still won the right to own a candle and matches, their remnants were given to us by the administrator👍
And they also changed the number🤝
Before leaving, we were so cold in the room that 2 blankets and bought wine from despair did not help to keep warm. The situation was saved by a travel hair dryer, which I threw into my bag at the last moment, and it helped us reach a temperature compatible with life.
🖐️In short, if you like semolina, bread, spread, walking up the stairs, cold and damp, Door blue on the walls, then you are here.
If not, look for another hotel.
We are in Abkhazia for the 3rd time, but for the first time we are so stuck.
I wanted to go home more than ever.
This was the case when 70 are willing to pay themselves to return as soon as possible.
Click here if we have saved your health, money and fun at the same time.
Have a good trip to everyone😉
PS What deserves respect is the work of the architects of this building (unfortunately, their names are not listed anywhere). It was a very cool project, an interesting architectural solution. Glory to Russian architects❤
The view from the observation deck of the 7th floor is simply divine🙏
The service is terrible, there is almost no Wi-Fi on site, the landline phone does not work. The food is terrible, even the smell of food. The rooms are old, furniture is falling apart, sockets are falling out of the walls, there is a problem with water and light. The rooms are not cleaned. The area around is normal, but the roads are broken. The location is good near the sea.
We had a rest in August 2021
Well, what can I say- the devil is not as terrible as he is painted. The room stock is old, but clean enough, although there was no cleaning, as stated once every 5 days, and the cleaner did not respond to the request for cleaning on the 4th floor, well, just in no way, although other floors were cleaned properly.
The food is varied, easy, there is no fried, mayonnaise, it is understandable that the Rotovirus does not sleep, during this period 2/3 of the boarding houses and Gagra as a whole were powerfully ill.
Of course, it does not pull for 2 stars, but for the sake of the sea you can be patient. By the way, Wi-Fi works perfectly throughout the territory.
Light and water are taken every day, sometimes there is no hot water for two days, but this is again a problem for the whole of Abkhazia
In general, Gagra is 5 out of 5, the boarding house is 3 out of 5
The staff is wonderful. The kitchen is also on top. But the elevator does not work periodically. And it's hard for an older person. But I do not exclude the possibility of coming here again. The upbringing remained good. Thank you for the rest!
A typical Soviet boarding house. For unpretentious tourists. Breakfast, lunch, dinner are quite edible, you will not stay hungry. Each room has a shower, toilet, balcony. The elevator gets stuck very often due to power outages, it is better to walk. The sea is close, across the street.
The food is delicious, it has not been sent more than once. That's all of the advantages. The rooms are falling apart, the water is hot intermittently, there is no air conditioning. The hotel was left over from the USSR. There was no repair. And it crumbles slowly.
I will add another star just because the view from the rooms is very beautiful...
This building has not seen, apparently, repairs since the Soviet era. There is simply no desire to go into details, we ran away from the hotel on the same day
Entering there, I plunged into the 80s.
Nothing has been done there since. The prices are not very normal for such an interior. The beds are very hard. We looked at 3 numbers on the 5th and 2 numbers on the second. It smells like dust. Awesome view from the balconies and windows of the rooms (only for this +). Semi-dark bathrooms. Broken doors and dust-soaked carpet. I'd like to put some money in there... keep the style the same and replace everything.
It doesn't matter how they cook, they give hot water by the hour, the lights are often turned off, the sanitary equipment leaves much to be desired, the Wi-Fi works poorly. We lived for 10 days, never changed the bed or towels.
We had a rest this summer, I really liked it. Both nature and hospitality are at the highest level. If the restrictions are lifted, we will definitely come for the New Year holidays, and in the summer we will definitely return to the sea in the same place. The main thing is that the children liked it very much.

I like Chegem, Director Viktor Vladimirovich has great respect for him, He is a very good person, God grant you Viktor Vladimirovich Health and long life, The staff is very good, They feed very well, Well done and Thank you very much, we go twice a year to rest and only in Chegem, It is quiet, close to the sea, and the view from the balcony is Super, mountains, seas, beauty,
The hotel is old, but with food. The elevator is still breathing . Something may not work in the room. Or be broken. But the staff is sincere and wonderful. The director is a great person.
The second time I come to Chegem, I want to say a huge thank you to Viktor Vladimirovich, a sensitive soul, a friendly kitchen, the holiday home itself remains wishing for the worst everything since the Soviet era, probably I will not come anymore. I want to relax more comfortably
Everything is fine, for grandparents, if you live no higher than the third floor, then there is no water, then there is no light (the elevator does not work)
I want to say thank you very much to the staff of the boarding house, they are friendly, responsive, everyone is just great, they didn't even want to leave, we miss you)))
