Negative experience of using a Careem taxi in Dubai October 2024: called through the Beach Walk hotel app. At first, the taxi driver did not drive up to the hotel entrance and stood on the next street, but so that we could see him, and this should have alerted us, but we ignored this fact. Further, it was only when they started moving that they noticed the counter with the amount of 17.5 dirhams, whereas other taxis always had the amount of 5 dirhams when boarding. Next, this taxi driver started driving us in circles around our neighborhood instead of the destination he had named. As a result, for the trip to the nearest metro, he charged 41 dirhams, when, like the previous day, we took a taxi for 18 dirhams. The taxi driver is a swarthy man, I attach a photo of the Careem taxi license plate to the review.
