A pleasant hotel. We had a rest in November 2024.
I liked the hotel, great location - 1 line, there is a safe access to the sea. Delicious breakfasts. On-site swimming pool, sun loungers, pool bar. You can do water aerobics every morning in the pool. The territory is clean and well maintained. The hotel has an area for taxi bookings and excursions. We booked excursions at the hotel, the organization is always at the highest level.
Within walking distance of shops, exchangers, food zones, markets.
We have been living on the island for 5 years now, and I have never seen a better hotel.
Pros: Cool rooms.
Good staff, bar and massage right in the hotel.
A very large selection for breakfast
You can access the pool directly from the room
From the room to the sea 1 minute
Shower
Pool
Cons: not allowed with food
There is no washing machine
There are no good conditions to live for more than 2 months
Expensive
And a lot of people
But that doesn't stop them from being the best hotel on the island!!! We will come again and again!!!
Please read my REVIEW before booking this hotel!
My family and I stayed at the Beyond Kata Hotel in the first half of October 2024.
+ I'll start with the pros: the hotel is incredibly beautiful, clean, and aesthetic. It has direct access to the public beach (which is rare for Phuket), there are a lot of sun beds on site. From the look of it, you can say that this is a heavenly place.
They also have a free mini bar in the rooms: water, tea, coffee, coffee machine - use as much as you want, they replenish every day.
This is probably the end of the advantages.
- Now about the cons:
1. The pool water is uncomfortably warm, even hot. Of course, not all hotels have a cooling system, but keep in mind that the sea is warm and the pool is almost hot, so it's a little difficult to refresh yourself in the heat.
2. There is a sign on almost every chaise longue that you cannot bring your own food and drinks to them. An interesting rule, considering that on the beach 10 meters from the hotel, locals sell shakes for 50 baht, and in their Pool Bar the same shake costs 120 baht. However, we violated this rule and no one told us anything, maybe we were just lucky.
3. All the staff speaks very little English. This is strange, considering that, first of all, the hotel is not cheap. And secondly, 40% of their vacationers are Americans. I almost always had to connect gestures, because the staff just smiles and is silent when talking to them in English.
4. Avoid the hotel restaurant! There are no complaints about the buffet at breakfast. But one day we decided to have dinner at the same restaurant and I was poisoned by a dish with squid. The poisoning was very severe, I had to go to a local hospital.
5. If you suddenly get poisoned or something else happens, then know that the staff does not care about you. They didn't even help us call a taxi at night. They just repeated no, no and threw up their hands. I had to catch a taxi and get to the hospital on my own.
6. Room cleaning leaves much to be desired. For several days in a row, I left a note for the cleaner next to the tip so that she would throw out the trash can in the bathroom. The tip was taken away, the note was thrown away, and the trash was still in the trash.
Overall, the hotel is not bad, but the above disadvantages spoil the impression very much. Especially when a problem happens and you realize that the hotel doesn't care about you, about your problems, just pay the fine for the broken bottle, and everything else is not our area of responsibility. And they do not match such a price tag for their hotel. Maybe 2 stars is too little, but they didn't deserve three stars either, in my opinion.
We have been visiting this hotel for a long time. Therefore, we know what to expect. One problem remains - monotonous and not tasty breakfasts. They save heavily on sausage and cheese, pastries could be fresher ..., "Juices" are terrible chemicals, "Thai" food is inedible. As a result, eat dishes made from eggs. Omelet day, fried egg day, boiled egg day ....
Fried bacon - you won't ask, you won't see. Besides, it's overcooked...
A cool hotel on the first line of the most beautiful beach) Everything is great, the rooms are great, especially with sea views. The hotel is very respectable, not Thai clean, the equipment is beyond praise, the breakfasts and dinners are excellent. The employees are all very friendly and efficient, any request is fulfilled immediately. The territory is very well maintained, its own access to the beach, in general, there are no disadvantages.
Beyond resort Kata Hotel
For some reason, without our consent, the hotel decided to upgrade the room category and gave us a room twice as large in size as we ordered - A3251. We arrived at about 13.00 hours, we were warned that the room was not ready. But at the same time, two hours later the room was not ready, and by the time we checked in, we were sitting downstairs in the lobby. Then we were asked to come up, and three girls ordered a room in front of us. We stood and waited in the hallway. But even that wouldn't bother, like the room itself and the view from it. It is unreasonably large in area. Moreover, the hall is stupid in layout - about the same area as the bedroom, corner. Two large floor-to-ceiling windows, plus a tiny balcony. And the view from both gorgeous windows to the wide roof, untidy from dirt and leaves, right in front of the bed. You lie on the bed and look at the roof. In fairness, it can be noted that if you go out on the balcony and look sideways, you can see the edge of the beach. But this is inaccurate. ) And three large fans from a stationary industrial air conditioner (chillers) are adjacent to the window. It would be suitable for fans of urbanism or architecture of industrial buildings. Probably.... But we were paying for the sea view room, so we were very disappointed. And also as a bonus, an unsuccessfully positioned TV, flat, large diagonally, but located on the side, on the wall, which you can only look at sitting across the bed, or turning your head sideways. No movies to watch, no news from home, in the rainy weather of the Thai off-season. After a sleepless night on a plane with constant turbulence, there was no strength to rejoice at the hotel's offer, so we went to the reception to ask to change the room to "our own", of the category (premier with sea view) that was booked. They didn't even listen at the reception, they shoved a phone with a translator program under our noses with an offer to contact their tour operator. Thanks to Biblioglobus here. I wrote to my travel agent in Moscow, she's in the Bible. Plus, my husband called the tour operator's hotline in Tae via WhatsApp. They reacted quickly. Within 15 minutes, they called the room from the reception, invited them to look at another room, with a smaller area, but a frontal view of the sea. The same category that was ordered. Our things were moved into it. However, I had to ask to adjust the air conditioner (a guy called an engineer came), open the locked safe (another guy came with a universal key) and wash the floor again. The girl got a good, smiling one, wiped the floor joyfully, gratefully took the chocolate bar prepared for her and galloped off down the corridor.
Breakfast
Modest. Even meager, there is no fish, only warm ham from the meat cuts (in a container on the stove). There are minimal vegetable and fruit cuts, but no, surprisingly for Tai, mango! (Although he has never been in any of the hotels where we previously stayed on Tae). Rice in several variations (boiled, fried, with vegetables or something else). Eggs: boiled, fried, in the form of an omelet with all kinds of fillings. Bacon. There are several juice options (orange, pineapple, compote type), but we haven't tried it, I don't know if it's natural or diluted from powder or concentrate. We drank cool water with lime. Delicious.... Milk, cow's milk and soy milk. Breakfast cereals. Pastries (croissants, cupcakes, buns), all kinds of jams. Butter in portion packs. In general, of course, you will not stay hungry, but, as they say, without frills, and it was better to eat, even in the same Tae. When passing, they do not record or ask anything. We have breakfast early. One day it rained heavily, when we were already on the beach, returned to the lobby, went back for breakfast and drank coffee and pastries. No one said a word.
Toilet/bathroom
The bathroom has a shower separated by a glass partition that is not wide enough. You can fine-tune the watering can so that the water from the shower does not pour onto the bathroom floor. But we are not jewelers, so water constantly fell on the floor in front of the sink, we put a foot towel on the floor so that puddles would not stand. A large mirror, but far enough away from the eyes due to the wide plate of the table under the sink. There is no cosmetic mirror that can be zoomed in, so it is inconvenient for men to shave, and for women to apply makeup or touch up their eyebrows. For those who care, take it with you or use a large mirror on the wardrobe in the hallway. All the necessary cosmetics are present and in good quality. 200ml bottles with a dispenser. It is convenient to use. Shampoo and conditioner of acceptable quality. The hair feels great.
To summarize: the hotel is good for the Asian version, but we will not return there anymore, we will look for other options
I really like the hotel! 1-coastal. The food is normal , breakfast is like breakfast . Lunches, dinners and snacks, (if you are very puzzled), please -the widest selection from cheap to expensive is full, within walking distance. As far as I know, the main outrage was about food . You don 't even need to tell and comment on the rest! I just advise for adequate tourists.
The hotel is excellent, the location to the sea, also all shops are within walking distance, of course everything was not always there for breakfast, bacon could not be brought for 30 minutes, came at 8-30, ate, you leave and the bacon was never brought! The rooms are good! The sea is clean, everything you need for a good holiday!
A very well-located hotel in Kata Bay. It is actually on the beach. The building is built in the colonial style, there is a lot of open space. The rooms are large, the bed linen and towels are brand new, the air conditioning works like clockwork. The equipment in the bathroom is old, but everything works. The room cleaning is excellent. The breakfasts are standard, but there is excellent coffee. Near the hotel there are many various restaurants, exchangers, shops, massage parlors, fruit ruins.
Of the disadvantages, only a limited number of sun beds near the pool. It is quite difficult to find free ones, they are occupied from early morning, and not by Russians, but by tourists from Europe. The hotel administration is struggling with this, but it turns out badly.
As an alternative, there are always sun beds on the beach, but they are paid.
Excellent hotel, friendly staff, good breakfasts. The beach is public, but near the hotel. Very convenient. Nice pool. Water aerobics in the morning 😊
There is an excellent massage service on site
We relax here every year, the price corresponds to the quality, the only moment this year is some kind of colabs with sun beds, when they were scattered throughout the hotel, it was better, now it was in one place, near the pool, very close to each other, it's not very comfortable, otherwise, everything was fine, breakfasts on a solid 4, why not 5,because the queue for coffee and egg dishes, room cleaning is normal, the girls tried, from the animal, they saw only little goosebumps in the room, but they did not disturb us,we did not give a reason, hygiene products, everything was ,water was also brought on time, the bed linen was changed daily.
The hotel is excellent, everything can be solved on a call, the cleaning is excellent, the breakfasts are monotonous, but we were not hungry, the hotel does not have sun beds-this is a minus, otherwise 5+
We are coming for the 4th time!! An ideal location for a family holiday, a wonderful breakfast, clean sea, many cafes nearby, spa salons. Beautiful bay
Great hotel! I did not expect such a level from Asia.
The first line, there are no problems with sun beds in the morning, sometimes it is difficult to find them at lunch.
The service and service are excellent. We were a little unlucky with the room - we got a double room with an adjacent one (separated by an interior door). The audibility is terrible-you can hear every word of the neighbors, with whom we were not lucky at all! They lived a nocturnal lifestyle, and during the day they slept. They started hanging out in the room at night, and we couldn't sleep with them either. I contacted the reception, the whole hotel is on hold, but I was asked to wait 2 nights and they will try to do something. Honestly, I didn't really hope, besides, on the agreed day we returned from the tour only at 16 o'clock - I thought that by this time they would not help us in any way. But, the reception immediately gave me new keys on the same floor with the same view. we moved without any problems.
The room is cleaned daily. Everything is clean.
The disadvantages are monotonous breakfasts and the lack of cereals.
We took the tour only at breakfast. There was no variety, a poor choice of dishes, few fruits. But the location is excellent, the hotel is located right next to the beach, the sunbed and pool area is spacious and comfortable, there are enough sun umbrellas. The room was booked Deluxe Premier, a beautiful room with stunning views of the Andaman Sea. The room has everything for a comfortable stay. Beach towels and a bag for them and slippers are also in the room. Every day they put bottles of drinking water according to the number of residents. The most friendly staff is a security guard at the entrance and a bag carrier. The rest of you don't care. Room cleaning also left much to be desired, the floors were washed only along straight paths, but every day. Moreover, even the tips left did not affect the quality of cleaning. Otherwise, a clean, well-groomed area with greenery: palm trees, frangipani, bushes with flowers. The staff does not speak Russian, or pretends not to speak. Therefore, somehow I had to communicate in "broken" English, despite the fact that for some reason they swallow from one to several letters in a word
I highly recommend this hotel.
He's really on the first line. You lie down on the free sun beds by the pool and go swimming in the sea. By the sea, sun beds are paid 200 baht 2 sun beds + an umbrella. It's literally 20-30 meters from the free ones. It is not allowed to occupy earlier than 9 am according to the hotel's policy. But everyone does. The hotel staff carefully fold the towels and put them on the table next to the sun loungers. When you come, they will come right up, open the umbrella and move the umbrella so that there is a shadow on your sun beds.
We had a premium deluxe seavew room. At first they didn't look, they scattered things and ran away to the sea. And then we found out that my 12-year-old son and I have the same bed. We were asked, we were changed to another room of the same category with two beds. There was no hair dryer and bathrobes in the room, they asked, they brought us. The staff is very responsive, ready to help.
The child picked up an infection and vomited very much. They came to us in the middle of the night, washed everything for the baby. The insurance company offered to go to the clinic on its own for 30 minutes, because the clinic is nearby (and it's really two steps away), closed at night. Explanations that he simply won't make it, because he rinses it, didn't help. Then a doctor was called at the reception. They made a drip, gave pills. It immediately became easier. It cost a round sum. I will apply for compensation to the insurance company.
The sea is incomparable. The beach is clean. A lot of activities right next door. We snorkeled with the child closer to the rocks. Of course, there are not as many fish here as in the Maldives or Egypt, but there is something to see. But be careful, we saw a winged fish, it is poisonous.
On the beach, they make various embarrassments: mango, papaya, pineapple, banana, watermelon, coconut milk. For just 50 baht.
The hotel only took breakfast. Nothing special, they make an omelet with you, fried eggs, ham, cheese, padtai, rice, several different buns, vegetables, fruits (papaya, pineapple, watermelon, dragon fruit), various freshly squeezed juices, good coffee, pork broth with rice (helped my son a lot with infection), pancakes, toast in an egg.
The water in the room is 2 bottles 0.5 per person. Tea, capsule coffee machine.
There are many cafes and restaurants near the hotel. There is also Russian food at the Veranda restaurant. And Thai is also there. The child does not eat Thai. They ate in different places. I like where I can choose fresh seafood, and cook them as I ask. There is also a market nearby, where they cook with you: fried fish, seafood, spring rolls, etc.
There are massage parlors on every corner, the prices are almost the same. We enjoyed walking.
Would I come to this hotel again? Yes. And I've already recommended it to all my friends, too.
The standard of the hotel "on the sea". The breakfasts are excellent. The views are gorgeous. The beach is incomparable. You can swim in the wave in the Russian summer. Not cheap, but worth it. It cost us 36 tons .₽ for 3 days in June.
This is the third time I've been staying at this hotel. But not because he's good. It's just that I have a problem with my back and I can't walk far, and this hotel is on the beach.
He doesn't have any more advantages. There are much better hotels on Katya in all respects, but you need to bypass the wall that separates the sea from the residential area.
However, the price does not correspond to the quality.
I always stayed in a deluxe room with a view of the pool.
I have never seen such monstrous illiterate architecture.
You sit on the balcony and you can't see the sea, because your gaze rests on the ugly concrete balustrades.
But let's leave architecture alone.
There is practically no furniture or design in the rooms. The furniture in all the rooms was randomly arranged. It's not cozy.
There are no basic appliances in the bathroom. Now there is no shelf for shampoos and so on. The light is poor and incorrectly mixed, so you can't see your face, the top of your head glitters from the light.
Today we live in room 2251.
The light turns on only in the next room, you have to walk the whole room in the dark to turn it on.
At the same time! Attention! There is a threshold of 7 cm on the way.
We counted 3 floor levels in our room. The room, especially the entrance area, is a senseless amount of unnecessary furniture.
There is a table, like a worker, but the light is at the back and you can't do anything on it because of this.
Every year they improve everything, but it only gets worse.
But this year's news.
If you get up at 6 a.m. with the sun. Then, at the request of vacationers, it is allegedly impossible to occupy a sunbed up to 9 chamoa ... it is not allowed.
My husband has been looking for his towels every half hour since 6 a.m., which are cleaned by employees.
We must wait until the whole hotel gets up and then you can leave the towel and it will not be removed.
I've never seen anything like this before.
The food is not bad, but rather none..
Conclusion: if you have legs! Feel free to take other hotels, I used to live in 2 others, for example Centara. In a nice beautiful room, etc., but the price is completely different.
This hotel is not worth the money.
An incompetent Architect and a wrong owner have unsuccessfully coincided here.
And the sea is great nearby!
The hotel is good, the first line. But there is practically no hotel territory. The beach was constantly swollen. There are a lot of people. It's like I came to Anapa. Deck chairs are paid. The food is very diverse and delicious. The rooms are clean, the cleaning is of high quality.
We had a rest a week ago.
Everything is OK, breakfast for 3-4 people, the menu is not too diverse.
The hotel itself is recommended for recreation, at the exit everything is nearby a bus stop, taxi, beach, exchange office, etc.
An average hotel, does not pull in 4 stars.
Beach towels are changed only from 17 to 18. There are no slippers in the rooms. The breakfast is very modest.
The hotel is aimed at the French-for their many activities and entertainment with the French-speaking staff of the hotel.
The staff in the corridors does not greet. The concierge service did not help with the inability to pay for the event without a card…
Of the advantages, only the location-direct access to the beach.
A great hotel on the first line of the sea.
The breakfasts are excellent. The cleaning of the hotels is good
The rooms are spacious and bright
The room has a safe, refrigerator, air conditioning, hair dryer...
A good hotel without frills, the first line), I really liked the pool for the first floor (room was 1141), went out onto the balcony and immediately access to the pool and hydromassage
A hotel with a small well-maintained territory. The main advantage is the first line by the sea. No need to cross the road. A normal breakfast, room stock. Live music in the evening. The only drawback is the war for sun beds.
A beautiful hotel right on the beach. Several restaurants, well-kept grounds, friendly staff. It was recently renovated. The pool is at the entrance to the beach.
We had a rest at the end of 2022. Bribed by the location right by the sea. We were settled on the 4th floor with a view of the road, but that's nonsense. The hotel is old, but that's not the main thing. They gave me a room with "age-old dirt". True, they were cleaned at the request, not very much, but most importantly, the floor was washed. The mirrors were left without reflection because of the dust. But even these are small things. We got faulty plumbing. I went every day for a week and asked to be moved, but they came to us and "forged" it. A week later, when we didn't sleep at night because of another breakdown, I couldn't stand it.and she caused a scandal to the staff. We were moved with a creak to the first floor with access to the wall with a ficus tree. I was glad about that too, but it was too early... In the evening, it turned out that the shower drain was not working... I didn't have the strength to swear anymore. We lived like this for a week. I must say right away, there is no point in overpaying for the first floor, there are a lot of flies, mosquitoes and the pools are not functional ...
The breakfasts were very meager. We lived in both 3 * and 5*, I have not seen such. Personally, I ran into rotten scrambled eggs myself. Fruits are always with flies. Sausages and 2 or 3 days old, already dry. 4 times in total were normal. It seems that some of the dishes are served from the buffet of the evening dinner. It can be seen that they are not fresh.
The hotel does not correspond to 4+. Three is a stretch. Naturally, we will not go there anymore. There are good second-line hotels on the shore. In January and April 2023, we breathed in Pamookko4*. Excellent, new, with good breakfasts and all the infrastructure nearby. The beach is 500 meters away from the cafe. It doesn't bother at all.
The hotel is located on the seashore, the beach is within walking distance. This is the only advantage. The staff is not talking about anything. We checked into a room that does not correspond to the purchased tour, the hotel is dirty, dust, clumps of hair and debris are everywhere. The same picture is on the pool. Breakfasts are so-so - small assortment and second-class products. So there is no point in overpaying for the first line.
We had a rest at the hotel, in early April 2023. In short, I liked everything!
Yes, there were some shortcomings, in the form of not new furniture, cracked paint in some places, but these are all small things, compared to the sea view and the first line! The hotel is clean, cleaned well, including daily in the room.
The view from the room is great!
Yes, the sun beds on the first line in the hotel are usually occupied in advance, as in other countries, but in general there are enough sun beds at any time.
The pool is shallow, 1.2 meters, so the water in it is almost not cooled, in the sea at a water temperature of +26 + 27 ° C, the water is cooler than in the pool.
The food at the hotel is good, you will not stay hungry.
Yes, I was also very surprised by WiFi, excellent speed and coverage, the fact that in the room, on the territory of the hotel, the first line of sun loungers, and also worked on the beach!
We are happy with our stay at this hotel!
So, we rested in this hotel for 11 days, three of us, with a child.
I read the reviews and thought that everything would be bad. But no. So:
We arrived early, at 11, and check-in only from 14. We couldn't check in earlier, but we offered two towels for relaxing by the pool.
Upon check-in, it turned out that there is no third bed for the Child. This issue had to be resolved over the phone. In general, broken English was enough to explain to make me understood)
The bed was provided in just 10 minutes. I was confused by the pile of dust and rust on it. They refused, the three of them slept on the King size bed.
The room was facing the street, and in the afternoon, when we went to bed, we could hear street music and it was a little disturbing. There is also an old air conditioner in the room, which is also very noisy.
After that, I went back to the reception desk and asked to change the room, explaining this by the noise from the street and the old apartment. And again they went to meet me, immediately offering me another room, but with a view of the neighboring building. I said that I would think about it and answer a little later, but I already decided that I needed to test the first night. After the first night, I already 100% changed my mind about changing the room and did not inform anywhere, but after a couple more days they called me directly to the room and asked if I would move. Customer orientation is present.
What about cleanliness and cleaning. Well, the cleaning is bad, the bed linen is old and in places with indelible stains. Cleaning can be done at 12 or 15 o'clock. Towels are changed every day.
We came across a room with an old renovation, but everything worked well, nothing fell off and looked like a solid 4.
There were no problems with the deck chairs. Of course, in the morning, in the first and steepest row overlooking the ocean, you can't take a chaise longue, but after lunch - sometimes you can get caught. There is a place to settle in.
A big plus, this is the first line.
Very convenient.
But one of the disadvantages is a very small and shallow pool, only for children.
Also, the staff does not keep track of who comes in from the beach. I've seen left-handed people several times, who wash their feet, who swim in the pool. And there are no marks that you live in this hotel.
A very expensive pool bar. Smoothies and shakes from 100 baht. Well, it's not much, but compared to street 40…
There is a good exchanger near the hotel. With a good course and there you need a document - a license, a passport photo or a passport.
There are many cafes nearby, taxis and buses to Old Town Phuket, I highly recommend visiting. Everything will be much cheaper there)
The hotel is also on fire, I only went to the pool there and took the children from the pool, but the hotel is not bad, there are a lot of people going directly to the beach, the sea is 20 meters away
We arrived at the hotel for the fourth time. Well, what can I say, I only observe deterioration. There is no sea and the location of the hotel is fine as always, but the cleaning has become much worse and longer (if on previous visits we calmly came to the room to wait out the heat in the cool, now around two o'clock, coming from the beach, we find the room not cleaned and after 10 minutes the maid knocks on us, and this lasts for two weeks and we lived in different rooms🤷♀️). Yes, and cleaning is one name, towels are changed, and that's fine. A separate pain is the beach - previously, only hotel guests could use the territory of the hotel next to the sea, and now every day I watch crowds of people who do not live in the hotel from the beach go to the territory in the shower area, walk around the sun beds. And earlier, a hotel employee stood near the steps and watched it. The rooms have been in need of repair for a long time (the taped shower hose is proof of this.So things are only changing for the worse.
As soon as I arrived, I decided to write a review right away, it was the worst vacation in my whole life
I was in Thailand for the first time, I will list the advantages: the first coastal and a good beach, a beautiful hotel. This is where the advantages end, as for breakfasts, they are monotonous, an hour before the end no one wants to cook hot for you, you will have to stand over your soul or wait for the cooks at all, there is a shortage of dishes (you have to look for plates, glasses, find out from the staff)
The hotel is located so that there are not a lot of restaurants and entertainment, there are 3 of them in the vicinity and street food, the food is the same everywhere, it's fast food and spicy, fried dishes (if you are with children or you have weak stomachs, it's worth thinking about), personally I was poisoned and lost 5 days running around hospitals. It was not possible to order food at the restaurant at the hotel, as weddings were held every day.
As for the staff, these are people who always ask for money. I will give examples 1- they took the suitcase, the man did not leave the room until they gave 20 baht, after which he began to resent why so little, 2- they made a toilet bowl for us 4 times and asked for money each time (no one will respond to your requests the first time, even the guide warned us about it, it's such people), 3-right before departure, when the transfer was already in place, during check-out they demanded a beach bag that costs 500 baht, during check-in it was not there, when I started explaining in Thai through a translator, the man did not even read, he shouted and repeated the same thing. 4-no one will wash the floor in your room for free. We were given a room quickly, but every day I saw people screaming because at 10 p.m. they were not given a room (they should be at 2) and asked for money.
The price is too high for such conditions
Tip: always have small money with you, it happens that they do not give back and include fools, or do nothing until you give money (on excursions they will also ask for tips), do not listen to the guides, everyone is there for himself, if you choose an excursion, read as much information as possible on the Internet (excursions Thais organize and there will be little of the promised), you will not be able to present anything, hell for a perfectionist,(as for me, the best thing is not to go anywhere at all and enjoy the sea, it's really beautiful)
For the sake of a good beach on the first line, the hotel can be forgiven for its old building. If you came for the sake of the sea, there is definitely no better option on Kata beach. The only point I want to draw attention to is the room with the name no-view. Keep in mind that what is meant is not just "without a view of the sea", but really "without a view". These are rooms on the 1st floor, where a small terrace rests against the wall, behind which there is already a street and shops. There are quite a lot of such rooms in the hotel. If this is critical, pay extra for rooms on the upper floors. We lived in such a room for the whole vacation: it's a bit strange, but, in general, we got used to it and even found our advantages in such a terrace.
Of the disadvantages: mosquitoes. But this is hardly a problem for the hotel. In other hotels in Phuket, they bit me too. There is a raptor in the hotel room. They also bought mosquito repellent stickers with tiger balm and glued them at the head of the bed.
I liked the building itself, despite the construction of the 90th year. I don't like typical hotel buildings, but here the building is in a tropical style with open spaces. This is exactly what a resort hotel on the island should look like. By the way, I also lived in the older Le Meridien 5* with a building from the late eighties, so there was a smaller room and a tiny bathroom - I remember that I even had nowhere to put all my jars of creams. In this regard, Beyond
has a big like for the size of the room and bath.
Of the cons, that's all. The rest is just the pros. Keep in mind that there are a lot of not very pleasant reviews for this hotel from the pre-pandemic period, when the hotel was not yet bought by Beyond. It is better not to read them, because they no longer correspond to reality at all. After changing the owner and joining the Beyond family, all services are brought into line with the brand standards. The bed linen and towels are snow-white. The food is flying! Yes, I want to praise the food. We took half board: breakfasts and dinners, because Thailand is not a country where it is safe to eat outside. We took a lot of medicines for the stomach with us, but never once was there even a hint of any disorder, despite the fact that everything was in the way. The advantages of breakfast: in addition to brewed coffee, there are coffee machines for a good strong Italian espresso. Eggs for making omelets are washed (it seems ridiculous, but not in every even very expensive hotel, they are washed). A large assortment. I got bored only after 10 days a little. A separate station with an Asian breakfast (3-4 Thai dishes), a separate station with a Western breakfast (sausages, potatoes, tomatoes), a separate egg station (omelets, 2 types of boiled eggs, 2 types of fried eggs, bacon, French toast, waffles, pancakes), a round bread station and a chic assortment of delicious fruits!
The dinners were in the format of a themed buffet, except for a couple of times when appetizers, salads, soup, desserts were served buffet style, and the hot dish had to be selected from the menu. Dinners were never boring and practically nothing was repeated. Very high-quality execution and beautiful presentation. All the time we have tried all the dishes of Thai cuisine and the best dishes of pan-Asian cuisine. I want to especially mention Thai spring rolls - I even forgot how delicious they can be when they are not fried in oil after many days of use!
The hotel also has a beach restaurant, also working for customers from the street. There is a very tasty pizza from the oven! When you get tired of Thai food, this restaurant is a salvation!
What's around the hotel and nearby: as usual, everything you can imagine: pharmacies, massage parlors, exchangers (rubles are accepted at the rate of 0.4rubles per 1 baht), pancake stalls, restaurants and eateries, fruit stalls and "fried ice cream". This time I had to visit Top Charoen optics (to the right of the hotel on the way to Kata Noi), as my sunglasses were washed away by a wave - there were 50% discounts on sunglasses and I managed to buy luxury glasses for 4000 rubles. I advise you to take a look. And also immediately at the exit of the hotel there is a taxi and tuktuk parking lot. The prices are fixed on the scoreboard - the same for both taxis and tuks. We went to the Central Festival in Phuket Town, went to the Big C supermarket in Patong, and took a tuk-tuk for 1200 baht for a few hours to travel along the panoramic points of the south coast and to the elephant nursery located nearby (we wrote on a piece of paper in advance where we needed to go, approached the dispatcher with it, found out the price - and they didn't even bargain, because the price seemed acceptable).
The hotel left only positive memories. The sea and the beach are gorgeous. We are more than happy with our vacation!
We are currently at the hotel.1) bought the location by the beach. Otherwise, everything is at zero level , just to strip you to the skin . We paid for a New Year 's dinner about nothing .And also pay separately for water and alcohol. I took a tour through biblio globus to avoid them and do not take excursions if you do not want to spoil your mood and rest.

We stayed at this hotel for the New Year. One plus is the location, and I would not say in the morning all towels and things left before 9.00 are cleaned, even if you go away to smoke. There is nothing to eat for breakfast .If you don't want to spoil your vacation, choose other hotels
We rested in this hotel, the hotel itself is gorgeous, well, it will not return anymore because of the staff.the attitude towards Russian tourists is piggy, a guy sits at the reception who can't even advise and be rude, moreover, he didn't even pay attention to us when checking in, he just sat with a dissatisfied face, so I don't recommend tourists, and I recommend that the bosses of this hotel change the staff and take people more adequately
Great hotel, location right on the coastline, no road between the beach and the hotel! Otherwise, everything is fine too, cafes, shops, makashki, massage))
I'm not a fan of writing reviews, but I will write anyway. We were in 2020 for the first time in this hotel, it seemed to us that it was better then. Now the only advantages here are the sea and infrastructure. The rooms are not cleaned normally, mostly swept, washed extremely rarely. The balcony has not been washed at all in 2 weeks ((Breakfast is not very good.Today, in the area of buns, I saw a cockroach that crawls right over sweets (((The hotel is shabby and at the same time no one is going to repair it, apparently.I will never come here again(
A normal hotel. The first line, which is not a little important. Breakfast - eggs in different types, yogurt, pancakes, dragon fruit, papaya, bananas, pineapples. The room is large, everything worked. Since April, the hotel has promised to close for repairs.
