The Brest fortress left an indelible impression. I've always wanted to visit there and get to know this legendary place better. The majestic monument to the defenders is stunning in its size. Schoolchildren keep a memory watch at the foot. Another monument embodies a soldier who, under bullets, draws water from a puddle with a helmet to bring it to his comrades. Museum staff constantly pour water into his helmet, and it serves as a kind of basin for flowers brought by people.
The guide will take you to different places of the fortress and tell you how selflessly the military unit that was here defended the fortress and about the heroes standing to the death in the face of the enemy horde.
There is an Orthodox church on the territory of the fortress, where you can go to pray and light a candle.
It took me two days to thoroughly inspect the fortress and fortified areas, where there is something to see.
Part of the story with its own atmosphere. From the very entrance, it sets you up for "immersion" in history and allows you to feel with your soul all the hardships that fell on the defenders of the fortress. Thanks to the wonderful guide Valeria Vyacheslavovna, it was possible to learn the main periods of the heroic defense of the Fortress in a short period of the tour. At the end of the tour, under the great impression of what we heard and saw, we walked around the fortress and its surroundings for almost 5 more hours. In my opinion, this is one of the places that everyone just NEEDS to visit.
I liked the museum very much, living history, very majestic, useful and informative for everyone, especially for the younger generation, the defense museum ordered an excursion in the museum itself and around the territory, the tour costs 86 Belarusian rubles, if a decent company is recruited, then it is divided into all and it turns out not very expensive)
The Brest Fortress Defense Museum is a memory that cannot be forgotten
The museum's exposition tells in detail about the heroic defense of the fortress in the early days of the Great Patriotic War. Each room is filled with artifacts, documents and photographs that allow you to feel the horror and courage of the defenders.
Special attention should be paid to audiovisual installations and dioramas that create a presence effect. The exposition dedicated to the feat of Soviet soldiers who defended the fortress to the last is especially impressive.
The museum staff is friendly and competent, ready to answer any questions from visitors. The guides conduct fascinating excursions, making the visit even more informative and emotional.
The museum is an important monument of history and culture, which helps to preserve the memory of the great feat of our ancestors. I recommend that anyone interested in history visit this place and honor the memory of the heroes.
Since childhood, I have dreamed of visiting here. This year we managed to get out of Belarus.
Be sure to take an excursion both to the museum and to the territory. With a guide, if you're lucky. Ours was young and talked on the machine. The information was provided formally, there was no emotional highlight. There are no complaints about the information itself, the main points have been announced.
The complex is huge, you can walk and explore all day. The territory is well maintained.
Living history. It's good that such places are supported.
We were satisfied with everything.
An iconic place, I really liked it. The huge territory of the Exhibition complex, we were with a child of 5 years old, we didn't even go around everything. Everything is very clean, well-groomed, lots of greenery. The entrance to the complex itself is free, you can get to paid exhibitions on the territory of the fortress, you can book an excursion. There are free toilets, you can buy water and ice cream (you can pay with a card). We visited the Berestye Archaeological Museum. I also liked it very much, it is very clear and not boring, the entrance is paid, you can pay with a MIR card. I recommend visiting the Exhibition Complex, an unforgettable experience. From the railway station you can walk, 30-40 minutes.
A place with a huge history, being there touches to the very goosebumps
Very clean and large territory, monuments that give you a feeling
Unfortunately, there are not enough pointers and some kind of information (for example, QR codes) to read in more detail about the places on the territory
We also ordered an excursion for 43 Belarusian rubles for 3 visitors: it is clear that it was put on stream and there was very little information, we passed only a small part of the museum complex with a guide, gave very little information
The museum is, of course, very massive and impressive. I mean, the central monument is probably 20 meters high. But it's time for us to erect a new monument. And not in connection with the events in Ukraine, but in connection with the climate. Look at the heat in the summer of 2024. How many storms have passed. We need a monolithic society determined to urgently and REALISTICALLY solve the climate problem before it solves us. Because according to the forecasts of scientists who are looking for the REAL causes of changes in the environment, in 2031 you and I will forget about such a life as we knew it in 2024. There will be a severe shortage of everything at this time. The economy in the country and the world may completely collapse. By that time, some countries will cease to exist as States. And not in Africa, but in Europe and Asia. Therefore, an active active position of every person who REALLY worries about his future and his loved ones is already needed. We need simple actions for 5-10 minutes a day on the Internet to try to change the situation in the world. On the request "climate needs to be solved", you will find groups in social networks that have additional information and specific suggestions on what can help in the current situation.
We were a group on an individual excursion to the Brest fortress. We were very pleased with the work of the guide, junior researcher Vyacheslav! I conducted the tour very interestingly, mentally, in detail, slowly, and were very satisfied! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts
I think there is no need to write a lot! The place is definitely for visiting, preferably with children and an excursion! The guide told the truth very quickly, apparently they were adjusting the following excursions, it's hard for children to take in so much information at such a pace! We wanted to take an individual one, but we had to order in advance, it's a pity we missed this moment...
A must-visit place. Memorial, Temple, Eternal Flame, three museums. Beautiful landscape. Unfortunately, there is a problem with public catering: one restaurant "Citadel", in which one part of the square is under renovation, and the other is given over to banquets (in the most suitable place). Hot drinks and meals can be enjoyed at the bar. The prices are above average, which cannot be said about the quality.
The museum is impressive. Good parking, navigation. Good exposures. Prices are reasonable, 10 adults and about 5 children. But it's in each one separately. You can eat on site, toilets are not in all departments.
Good day.I've been wanting to visit the fortress for a long time! And here we are.I was in awe, just at the thought of being here. The place is iconic, but.....everything is very smoothed out, something. The main entrance has very little information on the way to the symbols of the fortress. There are no informative billboards. The pointers are so uninformative that you have to look for everything. The font on them is mm10. Very small. It is more of a landscape park than a place of heroic defense.Everything is somehow not heroic. There is no tear .Yes, monstrous traces of bombing and shelling are visible. There are ruins all around, but there is no information about what kind of ruins they are and who their heroes are.The inscription of the barracks of such a regiment or club, etc. and all in small print on the general scheme.Go find her. There are a lot of tourists. There is parking inside the fortress.Check-in from the North entrance. There is a good cafe.Come and make your observations and conclusions. Thanks
A wonderful museum dedicated to the history of the Brest Fortress from its foundation to the present day.
Of course, most of the exposition is devoted to the heroic defense of the fortress during the Great Patriotic War.
Many thanks to the museum staff and guides for a wonderful story and a detailed tour of both the museum itself and the fortress territory!
The museum is mandatory for all age groups and social strata.
Before visiting, it is better to read something on the Internet about the history of this place and especially the events of June 20-30, 1941.
For example, the wellcom Belarus website is ideal (I read it)
My acquaintance with this place began with reading a book about the defense of the Brest fortress written by Sergey Smirnov. I read this book somewhere between 1975 and 1980.
You need to look at everything: museum exhibits, portraits and paintings, samples of equipment and forms, structures and elements of fortifications barely discernible in some places.
During the examination, keep in mind previously studied facts and supplement them with new knowledge.
A magnificent museum in place without the exemplary feat of Soviet soldiers and officers who taught us a lesson of selfless love for the motherland and pride in our beloved country.
I will definitely bring
my grandchildren. P.S. I propose to supplement the exposition with an interactive map of military operations by day. Indicating the centers of resistance, dates and surnames of the participants.
Definitely 10 out of 5.
A place of power. The place of such a story.
The atmosphere is creepy.
Be sure to visit the museum.
Very well maintained area. Everything is perfectly simple. The employees are friendly.
I want to go back there again.....
We really liked it, you can stay there at least all day, a huge territory, everyone will definitely find something of their own. I was very impressed by the monument of Courage. And the cathedral is amazing. Be sure to visit, you will not regret it
I don't even know how to rate this place. For the government that grew up in the USSR, this place is a landmark. And so in July 2024, we got to it. We ordered an individual tour of the fortress defense museum. It must have been hard to feel the fate of these people without her. And I understand that it is difficult to create a museum, because in fact there is almost nothing left for exhibits. The main thing is the events that unfolded there and the courage and steadfastness of the defenders. To see with your own eyes what was once in the history textbooks at school. It was worth it. Come and take a walk. But it seems to me that we need to prepare ourselves a little for visiting such places, especially if we are with children. We also had an audio guide on our phone, well, I added something from what I read. Thank you for your attention, good luck to everyone!
On October 13, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., as part of the tour group of the Ya TO company, we visited the Brest Fortress Defense Museum and the territory. The tour was conducted by the guide Kirill, I did not remember the last name. We all really liked the museum and the complex as a whole, but I would like to note the work of the guide separately. Well done! Kirill conducted this tour with knowledge of the material, clearly, clearly, sincerely, with great patriotism and love. Thanks!
A significant place for all Russians and Belarusians. You can walk all day. There is a tent with military clothes for rent (any size and for girls there is a choice for children). I highly recommend and the photos are beautiful and the atmosphere itself becomes solemn.
The Brest Fortress Defense Museum is an amazing place that immerses us in the atmosphere of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War! Visiting the museum leaves an unforgettable impression and allows you to understand the historical significance of the events that took place in this place.
The museum's expositions are informative and well thought out. Visitors can see original objects from the war, photographs, documents and much more, which helps to feel the atmosphere of those difficult times. The exhibits tell about the heroism and steadfastness of the defenders of the fortress, about their feat and sacrifices.
In addition, the museum staff is always ready to help and answer any questions that arise, which creates a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The Brest Fortress Defense Museum is not only a place of memory and respect for those who gave their lives for their Homeland, but also an important source of knowledge about the history of the Great Patriotic War.
I recommend visiting the Brest Fortress Defense Museum to everyone, without fail!
One of the iconic places in the history of our country. Clear recommendations for visiting, especially with children. It will leave an unforgettable impression. The museum is well organized and well maintained, there is a possibility of parking cars.
The museum is impressive. I really like that military music is playing at the entrance. The whole territory . There is a place to buy a drink and relax. Very interesting excursions. I recommend it to everyone to visit.
The impressions are grandiose. To understand the history, everyone should visit the Brest Fortress, the Monument and, of course, the museum.
Polite staff.
A very interesting exhibition.
We are recommended to visit. The place is filled with history, pain and grief of the peoples of the USSR. Everything is organized in the best possible way, Belarus is a great country, and Brest is a wonderful city, European, in the good sense of the word.
I ordered an individual tour at the museum. The museum is very informative, there are many interesting exhibits. But the young girl guide conducted the tour completely soullessly, like an audio guide. Either she was afraid to stray from the memorized text, or she was in a hurry to get home, but the tour was completely formal and uninteresting. Quickly and vaguely pronounced the memorized text and move on to the next room. Alas, the mood from the museum was very much spoiled
The tour was held for free on May 8th!
A very important place, come with the children. Everything is very carefully kept, the guide's story, memorable exhibits and monuments impressed.
A place of memory
I was very impressed. I was even more impressed by the very high-quality tour. The guide is from the museum, not an outsider. It covered the museum itself and the sightseeing area of the fortress. Both adults and teenagers liked it.
A place of memory. Interestingly, it is better to take an excursion, it will give a more detailed idea of the first tragic days of the Great Patriotic War. You can also get acquainted with the history of the foundation and construction of this fortification.
The place is very impressive. The tragedy of that time is felt.
But, I would like everything to be open in Belarus, especially in the summer: museums, souvenirs, etc. Twice I was in the Brest fortress and did not get into one of the museums. There is such an influx of tourists in Belarus now, and some kind of weekend... That's what you used to make money on.
Delight, awe and inner awe, everyone needs to come here, just stand, feel, there are no words, an amazing place! The memory cannot be erased, I will definitely bring my son, I want him to know, to feel the atmosphere. It seems to me that after visiting the fortress, there will never be any doubt about the greatness of our people (I believe that Belarusians and Russians are still one people) and the correct orientation in history, which cannot be rewritten!
It's very impressive what kind of history this place has. It is worth visiting with children, so that there would be an understanding of our history and pride. It is also worth visiting the exhibition at the museum. To read the letters of that time, all this will help you to feel more deeply the feat that our ancestors left behind. If you walk along the destroyed wall, you get the impression that a Soviet soldier, huge and mighty, rises above the wall and says that the enemy will not pass.
The territory and monuments made a strong impression. My low rating is due to the unethical behavior of a museum employee. During the inspection of the exposition, my husband read information about the exhibits and heroes of the fortress for children (the youngest is 7 years old). At the same time, a girl guide conducted an individual tour for 2-3 people in the hall. Our family bothered her so much that she found it possible to make very loud and rude remarks. According to her, a tour guide is working, so the rest of the visitors should be silent. We came from far away, we really wanted to visit the Brest fortress, introduce the children to its heroic and tragic history. We specially chose a weekday morning for the visit, when there are not many visitors, so as not to disturb anyone and to have the opportunity to explore the museum without haste. Our children did not run, did not scream, they were genuinely interested, the conversation was not loud. As a result, the visit turned out to be crumpled and, unfortunately, impressions of employees unworthy of this place remain in memory.
A very interesting museum complex, I would like to add interactive scoreboards to improve the quality. The older generation needs means of transportation. So much has been done, well done.
I was on an organized tour at the end of July 2024. Since childhood, I wanted to get to the Brest fortress, which I learned about from a photo album. I was preparing - I read Smirnov's book, watched a movie. I was afraid that the impressions of the visit would be so strong that I would not be able to cope with emotions and sobs. And... it did not happen. The guide Denis Abramovich managed to present information in a boring, monotonous and disinterested mentoring tone, carefully bypassing everything that could really shock and excite. A complete disappointment. It was only after walking around the fortress on their own that they could at least partially imagine how the defense was going and what it cost the defenders. And, to be honest, the improvement of the citadel's interior space also raises questions. This neat little tile underfoot, an elegant temple instead of the ruins of the club and clipped cones and balls of bushes are more appropriate in a park for walking, and not in this place, where every centimeter is watered with blood. It would be better to leave it as it was at the end of the war, then the depth of impressions could really make you think about something important. And so - just a visit to another "landmark". Bitterly. Of course, I did not rate the fortress itself, but the way it was presented by the organizers.
A memorable place of valor and bravery of the Red Army soldiers. With gratitude to the entire people of Belarus, which preserves the memory and respect for our common ancestors, who held a heroic defense on a small piece of land, once a common country against fascist evil spirits... The museum is very impressive.
Despite the fact that we paid for an individual tour, we could not find out anything, because the guide chattered like a machine gun.The level of excursion service is weak for such a place. I ran, ran through the museum superficially, and in general 5 minutes on the territory.
All my life I dreamed of getting to the Brest Fortress, since childhood I read a lot of literature on this topic, by the age of 45 I finally got to Brest, and that's such a disappointment.
Guys, send your exchange specialists to Tula, Moscow, Volgograd, Sevastopol, St. Petersburg more often so that they have an idea how to work and present the material, because what we saw was a dull, parochial, amateur hat.
A place that everyone needs to visit.A place of memory and sorrow. A place of strong spirit of the people. I really liked the tour at the museum, the girl spoke very briefly, but at the same time very voluminously about the great deeds of the defenders of the fortress. Eternal memory.
The Brest fortress has always been and will always attract people, you can see and visit museums in the Fortress, you can go with a guide, but you can also walk with your family with children or walk alone, everywhere you go, everywhere is calm
There is a cafe and a restaurant on site.
A place that everyone should visit. This place is really impressive. It is advisable to walk through the fortress with a guide. In addition to the fortress itself, there is a Berestye museum on the territory, in which the excavations of the settlement of the 11th-13th century are preserved. Very impressive
A must-visit. This is the history of our big Country. The parking is large, the entrance and exit are convenient, there is a place to sit down and relax for older visitors on the territory.
a strong place.
good guides (they eavesdropped, but decided not to take the tour themselves this time.). keep in mind - the territory is hard in the sun and in the heat. There are several museums on site: all are interesting.
I don't write a lot of reviews on this in detail (and I don't attach photos).
A place that is worth visiting for everyone who has not been there yet, there are museums (prices would like to be lower) there is a separate payment for each museum. You need to walk a lot.It is advisable to take a snack with you. There is an inexpensive souvenir shop, and the toilet on the territory of the fortress is free
It is a very energetically powerful place, we came from St. Petersburg specifically to visit it, and I honestly expected less. Many thanks to the guide, she told us the history of this place and territory in great detail and in an interesting way. The desire to come back again and study everything in more detail is present!
A very strong and emotional impression. The museum tells about the heroic defense of the Brest fortress in the early days of the Great Patriotic War. This is a story of courage, perseverance and self-sacrifice of Soviet soldiers. Sightseeing tours give a general idea of the history of the fortress and its heroic defense. The museum offers themed tours dedicated to individual events or topics. These tours are more detailed and allow you to learn more about the heroic defense of the fortress. The museum staff is friendly and helpful. They are always ready to help and answer questions. The museum's expositions are very well decorated and contain many interesting exhibits. They allow you to visualize the events of the heroic defense of the fortress. The museum also houses an exhibition dedicated to the history of the Great Patriotic War. Here you can see weapons, uniforms and other items used during the war. The waiting time in the tour queue can be significant, especially in high season. Therefore, it is recommended to book excursions in advance.
An impressive place. Well-chosen expositions, many historical events are described. The impression of the museum was slightly spoiled by a sightseeing tour, which was minted to us in 45 minutes with a memorized text without a bit of emotion and interest. This, of course, prompted the fact that after such an "immersion" in those distant historical events, I had to find books on my own, study articles, and, in the end, watch the film of the same name in order to fully understand what was happening in this part of the country at that time.
But I would really like that, even with such a flow of visitors and such a limited time for each group, the guides would still be more imbued with the mission to lead people not only through the corridors of the museum, but also to attach their indifference to the historical and patriotic spirit.
Be sure to take an excursion to the museums, they are conducted both inside and around the territory. The guide Irina Sergeevna is just lovely, she led the tour so competently, I cried from these stories.
We came to visit from Russia. A wonderful museum, very interesting, friendly staff.
Thank you very much for your hospitality.
Belarus is a wonderful country!
A wonderful place, with a lot of museums and architectural buildings. A place of power! All museums are required to visit, the prices for visiting are quite low.
