This beach is called Almaciga (Playa de Almaciga) and is located a hundred meters east of the village of Almaciga, at the place where the Almaciga gorge (Barranco de Almaciga), winding through the Anaga mountain range, descends to the Atlantic Ocean. The beach is black volcanic sand, about 300 m long and at least fifty wide. The waves on the beach are almost always high enough, so the beach is occupied by surfers. Parking near the beach is almost impossible - every inch is on the side of the road (access to the beach is via the TF-134 highway), and even on the mountain slopes is busy. Busy with cars, motorcycles, pickup trucks for campers and tents in between. It's funny, but on some pickups there are ads for renting a piece of asphalt under it for parking...
