A great atmospheric place!
There were doubts whether it was worth going to the factory in the countryside or to arrange a tasting in the city. So, once at the factory, all doubts disappear for sure, it's definitely worth getting there (and considering the low cost of a taxi).
Special thanks to Yuri! With soul and involvement, he talks about his favorite business and introduces us ☺️ When she began to search for information on the Internet, she was indignant that nothing was really planned 😅 it turns out that you just need to call Yuri and he will tell you everything individually about the time of the tour, including, well, sign up at the same time
We tried to go on a tasting tour ... as a result, we set a price of 300,000 som per person only for tasting, which includes taste testing of 10 drinks. There is no tour of the winery, we look at the exposition ourselves in the 30 kv metro room and read the signs for the exhibit. They refused the tasting, but decided to buy a branded cognac “Filatov” 4 year old 0.75 for 150,000 som ... they received cognac distillate with chocolate flavor, they really regretted that they did not try it on the spot and did not call the management. how can you discredit your region by selling a drink with extraneous flavors under the name cognac (brandy), well, in the best traditions, we were not given a receipt

Bagizagan Winery: the heart of Uzbek winemaking

November 16, 2022
Samarkand Bagizagan has become a real symbol of Uzbek wines. It reflected the character of Uzbek wines — bright, tart — at its best. The plant where it is produced has its own vineyard, and this place is unique in terms of conditions: it is sunny all year round, but the mountains around make the climate mild, and the Zarafshan River nourishes the land wonderfully.
That's why the taste is so intense, so the grapes always ripen on time. Some tried to repeat it and also name their wine "Bagizagan", but the founders of the plant patented the features of the wine, securing their right to the name. The name has spread, but, as in the case of cognac and champagne, only wine produced in these places has the real right to it.
The history of the company stretches back to 1964. Then there was only a point for the assembly and processing of grapes, which were transported to the Samarkand plant named after Khovrenko, a wonderful scientist who did a lot for the development of winemaking in Uzbekistan, creating an entire production network.
After two years of independence of Uzbekistan, in 1993, a separate factory with its own production appeared here. And in 2003, the management decided to lease 400 hectares of land for vineyards, and the production cycle became complete. In 2007, the first harvest was harvested, creating the Select variety, which was a success.
Since then, the plant has been producing cognacs, vermouths with local mountain herbs, Georgian chacha, wines from European and Georgian grape varieties — Cabernet, Merlot, Chardonnay, Rkatsiteli. The most popular wine of the plant is made from Cabernet, its bouquet of flavors is vanilla, wildflowers and berries.
By 2010, the staff of the plant had grown from 12 to 700 people, the volume of grapes processed — from 300 to 7000 tons. 500 thousand bottles are released per month. The plant continues to grow and develop, and more and more new wines appear. They plan to recreate ancient, long-forgotten varieties.
Anyone can come on a tour, see the cellars, barrels, cars and, of course, the vineyards. Guests will be given a chance to taste the wine and make sure of its splendor. Such an excursion is included in the tour from Canaan Travel!

I was at the factory in August 2024 a great tour and there was no free tasting, however, but this was because we did not agree in advance and there were three of us, but they still gave us a tour, then they bought products in the store all super greetings from Novosibirsk
A very memorable place!! Great wine!! The tasting takes place as a theatrical action. Pleasant atmosphere, delicious appetizer, delicious dishes.
A very colorful, passionate sommelier. Thanks! Delight!
We took a tour of the winery, we really liked it! Especially the production manager and part-time tour guide)) Yuri, he told and showed everything very interestingly! Well, then there was a tasting 😄
I was here for a tasting, I really liked it, the hosts are pleasant and hospitable, they told me everything, showed me, they fed me very tasty and gave me everything to taste. I recommend you to visit.
The wine is good. It is better than European, but it is better to take semi-sweet, dry, very tart and bitter. And so if you take local wine in Uzbekistan, you will not regret it
Thanks to Yuri for the excellent tasting and pleasant conversation. The prices in the store are more pleasant than in the shops of the city. The wines are the best in Uzbekistan!
