Now I know what a 3-ka hotel in Turkey is. We chose the hotel because of its proximity to Istiklal Street and the sights. The location is very convenient. We were accommodated on the 2nd floor, although we were asked for the 5th floor and other requests were also ignored. One of the main characteristics when choosing a non-smoking room was my biggest disappointment. There are pictures in the hotel that you can't smoke, but people smoked absolutely everywhere - at the reception, in the dining room, in the rooms, the stench even in our room (and we didn't smoke) was such that it made your nose hurt and your eyes water. It was my personal hell, I am a person with an allergy to tobacco smoke. I went to look into this issue at the reception, the answer was "you have a non-smoking room, you didn't smoke" , since then people have continued to smoke, but they opened the window at my request to ventilate.
They don't clean themselves, you need to come up and ask for toilet paper every time.
One night they wouldn't let me in, the guy at the reception closed the front door and went to bed, and my friend let me in about 30 minutes later. I knocked on the door loudly and for a long time, but the hostel did not wake up. Be careful, anyone can be in this situation. The second time was a similar story, but after a couple of minutes he opened the door.
Breakfast - scrambled eggs from one egg, 3 slices of cucumber, 3 slices of tomatoes, 3 olives, 3 pieces of sausage, a piece of sour cheese, a piece of butter, 3 sweet spreads (nut paste, honey, cherry jam), lots of fresh white bread and a Turkish cup of tea 100ml, you can have a snack and go, and this is the most the main thing.
A cheap hotel is also an advantage. Audibility is strong, and people are loud even at night.
Advantages of the location and breakfasts. I also want to note that there was no mold
in the room, as it happens in rooms with even higher stars.

It's cold in winter, the noise from the street is even with the window closed (some kind of generator is running), the windows themselves are old and let the wind through, there are 3 hangers, there is no closet, it was very difficult to dry outerwear after the rain. In general, I do not recommend a guest house in the cold season.
