Why is the car network worse than ordinary dealers from the market
I didn't write a review for a long time to calm down my emotions. And I didn't want to waste even more time on these crooks. But it is my civic duty to warn others against my mistakes.
At the end of the summer, I bought a car and, despite the fact that the end of the season is coming soon, I decided to buy and put new summer tires, because I have a thing for this. Rubber is safety. Saving on it is more expensive for yourself. From the previous owner, the car had Chinese Triangle and Hankook rear axles on the front axle. The Korean couple would have traveled, the tread was 4-5mm. But, since the car is all-wheel drive, I decided to install the same rubber on both axles.
I spent a long time choosing according to characteristics, prices and availability (my 18e wheels are very wide, so I had to find tires of the same brand, but in two sizes). As a result, I settled on Pirelli Powergy.
Since the car network is a large supplier and positions itself as professionals of the highest class with its tire installers, trained certified specialists and the best service, I decided, unfortunately, to order from them.
I placed an order on their website and wrote in detail in the comments that I need to check if this rubber fits my car. He indicated the make and model of the car, all-wheel drive, sizes of various discs, and even gave a link to a description of these discs on the Internet.
The “manager” called back Artem. He said that the car manufacturer recommends putting tires in a different size, but the rubber I chose also fits the discs. He said that they had a Continental in the recommended size. Since the Continental was 20 percent more expensive, I replied that I would opt for Pirelli if they also fit. I was told again that it was suitable. So that there would be no questions for me in case of factory defects in rubber and the warranty for tires was preserved, I decided to install tires on their own tire repair. The price of the services was about 2 times higher than the average for such a service. But the website of the Car Network describes why it is necessary to install tires from them (certified experienced specialists, proven equipment, quality guarantees, etc.).
The next day, at the appointed time, I arrived at their point on the Radial. I was offered to immediately drive the car for a change of shoes. When I asked if it was possible to at least look at the rubber that I was buying, they took out only one tire to look at. They say the others are the same. Then the first bell rang).
The car was changed, I drove off to the parking lot and went to pay. They gave out a check and a piece of paper of guarantee. When I was about to leave, I remembered about my old tires. Not only was they not offered to pick them up, but I didn't even see them near the car when I drove away. When he came in and asked if I could pick up a pair of Hankooks that were still in acceptable condition, the master brought them to my doorstep. The second bell rang. But then, out of the joy of acquiring it, I did not notice it again. But the joy was not long.
I managed to enjoy the quality of the new Pirelli tires (and they are really good and very quiet) for several kilometers while driving home. On the dashboard of the car, the DTS lamp began to blink, the tracking control (as I later found out in the manual). Since I only recently bought the car, I did not immediately compare the facts. I parked the car and went to read forums on the Internet. I would like to note that this is the first time I have a car with permanent all-wheel drive, so I did not know all its features. As a result, I found out that a tracking control error can occur on cars with permanent all-wheel drive even with a minimum difference in wheel diameter. I.e., for example, if there is a worn rubber on the front axle and a new one on the rear, then in this case you can get an error due to the fact that the new one will be slightly higher. I calculated that the diameter of the wheels on the rear axle turned out to be about 1.5 cm larger than the front ones. It's not terrible on front or rear-wheel drive, but on full, as it turned out, there are problems with this, which can lead to very expensive breakdowns.
I called Artyom's “manager” and described the whole situation. He immediately began to say that you made this choice yourself, I immediately told you that you needed another rubber... WHATTTT???
As a result of a lengthy discussion and arguments that I specifically asked to check if the rubber would fit, indicated all the parameters, etc. he began to say that he meant that Pirelli would fit on my disks, but not the car. This is just ridiculous. So he thought that I would put rubber on my wheels and admire it, and not ride it? Why didn't the “certified” specialists at their own station additionally check whether the rubber was suitable when they put it on the car themselves? As a result, they agreed that I buy new Continental tires from them in the only size suitable for my car, and I return Pirelli if there is no damage to them and I clean them.
The next day I was back at the Radial, in their store. I was supplied with a purchased Continental, and once again they took the money for tire service at the full price list. And Pirelli refused to take it back))) The store administrator called the manager and management for a long time, discussed something. Then he said that the management said that he could take the tires under his responsibility. That is, if the supplier's warehouse does not accept them (the car network is not a supplier in RB, but just sellers), then he will take them for himself. Naturally, he was not attracted to such a prospect and refused. I called Artyom again, he once again said that it was all my fault, it was my choice, etc. There was nothing further to talk with these people about.
Was it possible to solve the situation in other ways? Yes, but why are these Car Networks? They sold 2 sets of expensive tires and did tire fitting 2 times. The money has been received, the rest is not their problem. I think everyone would be satisfied if the tires were sold to me at cost or they didn't take money for tire fitting, for example, not to mention that you could try to return the tires to the supplier or sell them in their own stores at a small discount. I drove them for 5 kilometers, they were in a new condition.
I took the tires and sold them within a month, naturally at a discount. I still have the checks and the guarantee, if anyone needs proof. In this whole story, I lost about 150 units, a lot of time and nerve cells. I hope my review will be useful and will warn someone to contact the Car Network. It will be faster, more honest and more reliable to buy tires from ordinary dealers from the market. For them, reputation is probably more important.
