Just before my departure, the hoteliers decided to fill up the beach with sand, and they did it slowly and during the day, when tourists are on the beach) The imported sand is a separate topic........even in my native Petersburg, it's hard to find such shit) The canteen, which is a restaurant, is terrible and is under the stairs. The food is monotonous and disgusting. Just absolutely tasteless! And the problem is that you can't eat and there's nothing to replace it with, because you only managed to buy chips outside the hotel)And then ...., going to the store is an attraction of unprecedented courage.... Merchants rush at tourists like hungry predators! The animation is complete nonsense. The nursery is the same every day. I haven't been to Egypt for 7 years. I got through Belarus for a vacation with a child, because the vacation is strictly limited, Turkey has not yet been opened, and there is no desire to relax at domestic resorts. And I thought..... That I don't need charters to Egypt anymore. The service has changed beyond recognition there and the vacationing Arab population in Abayas has increased to an incredible size. And the population is Arab) noisy, numerous, ill-mannered and with eternally screaming children. My summary is this: the hotel is bad and five stars only have hot water in the room))) Besides! I was at the AMC Royal hotel & spa 5* in August 2022.
Initially, we were settled in an untidy room with a view of the ugly backyard. The curtain was with a red spot, the lamp with the edges torn off. When booking a room, there was a column "Standard room (back, pool or sea side view)", that is, a standard room with a view of the backyard, pool or sea. It was expected that with a view of the pool, and even more so to the sea, they would not immediately settle in, it seems such "schemes" are often found in hotels-to give a strange room so that the tourist pays and is given a relatively good room. We also indicated one bed for two, there were two separate beds.
After expressing his dissatisfaction to the Employee who helps with the suitcases and escorts to the room and asking the question "can I PAY and give a better room?", he smiled, quickly ran to the reception and brought the key to another room. We wanted to give him $ 5, he smiled and said "maloooo, you have a standard room written", in my opinion the second room was the same standard, only the balcony is slightly larger, but come on. As a result, they gave him $ 10.
The view from the second room was beautiful on the sea and on the neighboring hotel with slides, and the room itself was neater and better furnished. We did not regret that we asked for a change and paid extra.
As for the number. The safe was not used at all, we have an additional code lock on the suitcase, they always locked valuables in the suitcase. They didn't even try to open the lock, I left a certain combination of numbers on the lock to understand whether it was twisted or not. They didn't twist it.
The guide said that he had not heard any stories about theft in this hotel. Here you decide whether to believe it or not.
Daily cleaning service. They cleaned our place in a day or two, because I hung a "do not disturb" sign. I didn't see the point in cleaning our place every day. That is, everything is clear in terms of cleaning, if you want them to clean up -> they clean up, if you don't want them to -> they don't clean up.
Cleaning in the afternoon, closer to 5 pm, 2 1.5 liter bottles of water, cups, 2 tea bags, 2 coffee bags, plastic spoons are replenished in the room.
They cleaned well, not "fuck off". If something was needed additionally, they gave it without question.
Everything was working properly in the room, the shower was not running.
Wide beds, very comfortable.
Meal. I'm not a picky person. In my opinion, the buffet is NORMAL. Not just something luxurious and not just something terrible. In general, everything depends on the person himself, on his requirements.
The fruits have always been bananas, apples, oranges, grapes, and, it seems, dates. Sometimes there were pears. For dinner, either watermelons, melons, or mangoes were sliced at a separate table.
There was only one soup at the distribution, but every day it was different in content. The soup was for lunch and dinner (not the same).
Side dishes for lunch and dinner. As far as I remember, there are 7-8 pieces of different side dishes. Sliced potatoes, baked vegetables, grilled vegetables, pasta in tomato sauce, pasta in cheese sauce, legumes, French fries, etc. In my opinion, there were plenty of side dishes.
Meat for lunch and dinner - chicken, beef. There was no such thing that two days in a row there was something the same from meat dishes. Everything is delicious, in my opinion.
Salads. Salads are mostly made of tomatoes, but the sauces and additions are different. I selected a tomato salad, diced white cheese, and sauce for myself-and ate mostly it. Or I took separately sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, iceberg lettuce.
There were cuts of different cheeses, two types of sausage. Sausages and sausages have a loose consistency. If in Russia I take sausages and sausages of the GOST, A or B category, then in Egypt, I would describe them as "cheap ones". Maybe they have such sausages everywhere, but I didn't like them, I didn't eat, I lived quietly without them. I liked the cheese curd, very tasty.
There are many types of bread for lunch and dinner, and many types of buns for breakfast.
There are many types of desserts. In general, these are the same cakes of different flavors. I have selected one delicious cake for myself. There were also oriental sweets.
Breakfast. I don't eat much in the morning. My breakfast always consisted of the same thing - rice porridge with milk, pancakes with chocolate, puff pastry. Sometimes I took scrambled eggs. Scrambled eggs and pancakes are cooked in front of you. There is also enough choice for breakfast, but I will not be able to list what else was for breakfast 🙂
There are snacks between lunch and dinner. I took snacks a couple of times, it was pizza and a bun with a cutlet.
In general, you will not stay hungry.
I would like to mention the employees of the buffet. They clean the tables very quickly and efficiently and set the table for the next ones. Cooks stand near the distribution and watch, if something is over, they immediately replenish it.
Alcohol. I don't drink, my husband drank beer and various cocktails, said it was not bad. Cocktails were not diluted much, my husband even asked me to dilute them with juice a couple of times because they were very strong. But who has any requirements for the fortress 😊
The sea is near the hotel. In my opinion, it's a buzz. Very beautiful, colorful. There are ebbs and flows. At low tide , it is shallow closer to the shore (30 centimeters) , but you can safely lie down horizontally and chill 🙂
If you walk along the pier (2 minutes), then you can swim safely at low tide and at high tide. There are many different fish, crayfish, crabs under the pier. There is a lifeguard on the pier, who controls everyone. I advise you to take aquashouses/coral slippers with you. If they sell slippers in the hotel store, they cost $ 10.
I am delighted with the sea, the beach and the pier!
Swimming pool. Medium depth and deep. There are three slides on which both adults and children can ride. Of course, there are few slides, considering that next to the hotel, which has a water park, against its background, these three slides are boring.
The hotel grounds are clean and well maintained.
Animation. I didn't participate in the animation. I went to the sea and the beach at 10 o'clock and came to the pool at 3 o'clock to swim and sunbathe a little. In general, I only needed the sea, the beach and music, I was not interested in animation.
On the beach every day there is volleyball, a game of "bocce", stretching. In the aerobics pool. Once there was a foam party on the beach. There is an entertainment program every evening. This is what I saw, maybe there are some more animations.
The songs around the pool are modern and incendiary. In a nearby hotel (we had windows facing it), from 8-9 in the morning until 5-6 in the evening, they put on the same "howling" songs in Arabic, which were as annoying as possible. So the playlist at AMC Royal is great.
I would like to mention the animators separately (2 girls and 3 guys). Very cool guys. Positive, energetic. We tried very hard to rock boring people. The animators are great.
There was also live instrumental music in the lobby near the reception every evening.
Wi-fi. Free catches in the reception area. WhatsApp calls hang up a lot. To send audio, upload photos, correspondence, browser, upload photos/videos to Instagram - Wi-Fi was enough. It was very hanging when there were a lot of people connected, but in general it was normal. There seems to be such a topic about free Wi-Fi everywhere in Egypt, as far as I have read the reviews. There is a fee at the hotel, $ 4 per day, but it does not catch in all rooms, which is immediately warned at the reception. With paid wi-fi, you can safely talk on WhatsApp without freezes and everything loads faster. We didn't take a local SIM card, I saw a lot of negative reviews, and we didn't need it. We bought wi-fi for 2 days, the rest of the time we were sitting on free and normal.
Excursions. We didn't take any chances and bought excursions from our tour operator (Tez Tour). We were satisfied. Perhaps it turned out to be more expensive than that of third-party organizations, we did not find out.
The plus is that if you go on excursions from our tour operator, then our basic insurance is valid for excursions. And in principle, we originally planned to go on excursions only from Tez Tour.
Excursions, I think, are the same in all organizations by location.
I highly recommend diving, orange bay and swimming with a mask and fins. Very beautiful.
Historically, I was in Luxor (4 hours in one direction), I did not dare to go to Cairo (6-7 hours in one direction, powerfully). I liked the tour.
The shops. There are 5 of them in the hotel itself. They are all in one place. My husband took only local cigarettes there. By the way, it's better to buy cigarettes at home, in Egypt only local cigarettes, or marlboros (but my husband said that it's not a damn marlboros) are very strong. The price in the hotel store for a pack is $ 2.5 and above.
There are various shops along the road near the hotel. Two or three grocery stores, a store with oils and creams, and a "MISHKA MARKET".
We took souvenirs and stuff to the MISHKA MARKET. There is a Russian-speaking owner, a funny man, whose prices are lower than in the hotel. So I recommend this store.
Taxi. The hotel has a taxi service, a reception right after entering the hotel, we used this taxi. It is not recommended to get into a taxi from the street, according to reviews, because taxi drivers wind up a lot. Many people use Uber, but for this you need to buy a SIM card with the Internet. We went out only once, to the fish market. There is a fish market in the old part of the city and in the new one. The old part is $15. In the new part, $ 20 there-> the driver waited (an hour was waiting for us)-> back to the hotel.
I recommend the fish market. Huge shrimps, crabs, squid, octopus, etc. 1 kg of large shrimp is $ 12, there are $ 10 a little smaller. They can also cook them for you here, they cook for 30-40 minutes, at least. We were at the fish market near the El Mina Mosque.
I have seen a considerable number of reviews on different sites "it doesn't pull 5 stars" and many compare it with Turkey. Personally, I can't compare with Turkey, I was there for the first and last time when I was 9 years old. As far as I know, each country can enter its own criteria for evaluating hotels, maybe that's why the top five in Egypt is not like the top five in Turkey.

We went as a family (2 adults and 1 child 7 years old) to this hotel from August 6 to August 16. We flew to Cairo, as the charters were not yet open at that time and the whole way from Cairo to Hurghada I was amazed by the garbage that was just everywhere. Even in front of the hotel itself, and in the hotel itself (maybe except for the lobby) and the room, I would not say that it was clean.
I'll start with the number. Yes, the room is spacious, everything you need was and worked. Water, tea, coffee, sugar were given every day. Towels were also changed every day. The linen was changed 1 time. Cleaning was carried out every day, but unfortunately, you can't call it cleaning. There was something on TV from Russian channels, we found something to watch. But there was a big disadvantage - there was nowhere to dry things.
Restaurant. It's hard to call him that. We talked about the dining room. We didn't stay hungry, but there was no variety at all. Every day there is chicken, fish, and how they wrote "bull". But in almost the same version. To garnish with pasta, rice and some vegetables. And one kind of soup that didn't change in taste. It was either with rice or pasta. There was a lot of dessert, but we didn't eat it. But I was tense with fruits in general. We can say that they did not exist. Bananas, oranges and figs every day. Once or twice there was a watermelon with melon. In the evenings, fresh fruit punch was made in the lobby of the hotel. It was a very tasty thing and there were a lot of different fruits in it.
I didn't like alcoholic cocktails and wine. The beer was even more or less normal, but it quickly got boring.
The territory of the hotel is good, although there is one swimming pool, but with a division for children. There were also water slides for children, but unfortunately due to the fact that the local population (and there were a lot of them on our arrival!!!!) The whole pool was attacked, we hardly ever went there. But again, in the morning, after the evening performance of the animators, the pool was VERY dirty!!!! The sun beds were also always occupied, so we went to the sea, there were always free sun beds.
We got a good guide. His name was Mina (emphasis on the last vowel). I did not impose excursions. I liked everything that was chosen on his recommendation. And that's probably the only thing we liked about the solid 5. If we had any questions or problems, he always helped (and even without a hint of a "monetary reward").
The local population is certainly arrogant, including children. They try to cheat at every step. Even at the airport, when we arrived and decided to buy a local SIM card with the Internet (we read reviews and many advised us to buy SIM cards right away, since the Internet is very bad in hotels). They allegedly bought 18 GB for $ 12, but in the end it turned out to be 10.
When we went on excursions and there were stops, there were a couple of times that because the bus did not have time to stop, children immediately attacked it, begging for at least something, so we did not even get off the bus.
In general, of all the things that we liked, this is only the sea. We were on the red Sea for the first time and therefore the impressions were just off the scale. The underwater world was beautiful. If they returned, it was only from across the sea, but otherwise, they don't want to go to Hurghada anymore.
We were in the middle of March 2020 and almost caught the former greatness and fall... The sea is not very good, strong winds, the water was cool in March. But then the service and the kitchen significantly won, they could be estimated at five. When the covidla began and all the Germans were taken out, and that was 90% of the vacationers, there was a small group of Belarusians and Ukrainians, plus two families from Russia, and in this nervous situation, the administration tried very hard to ensure that vacationers did not limit themselves in anything and did not notice the beginning collapse of the tourist segment in Egypt... It's a pity that the hotel never crawled out of its forced economy and collapsed...(

We visited Sharma several times in October, the water was like fresh milk. Here, because of the wind, the water has never warmed up! Corals and fish? Probably, that couple, who were frightened by someone who dived from a pontoon, should not be happy at all, because other hotels have beaches with live corals, around which hundreds of beautiful fish swim daily. I won't say anything about the restaurant at all! It's not a restaurant-it's a dining room. What kind of sanitation can we talk about if cooks wear rubber boots in the hall itself? One can only imagine what is going on behind the scenes. Now about cleaning the room. Don't wash the floors once in 10 days. The Arab carefully made the bed described by his grandson... Thank you for not making a swan out of a towel! The bed hasn't been changed either. Shampoo, shower gel, conditioner were brought after my scandal at the reception. As well as a change of towels. The employee asked:"Perhaps you had a Do not disturb sign?" Then why did he make the beds?

Today , on 10/31/2021 , 40 Russians were poisoned in the hotel , I hope the hotel will be closed and never open again , there are no worse guys than the hotel . We were at the hotel in May 2019. The hotel is quiet, family-friendly, lots of entertainment for children. The food is not varied, it's the same every day, but there was meat and fish, vegetables, fruits. If you swim with a mask, then only from a pontoon, it is VERY shallow near the shore, there are few fish, because there are practically no corals. There are no bathrobes and slippers in the room as stated. There are a couple of shops near the hotel, there is not much to go to.
For many years we traveled and... Sadness!
Saving on everything! The employees make sure that you don't drink too much. They're brawling! Wine is expensive in the country, they are trying to save money on it.
Ol inclusive has become very problematic! There is no food! And it wasn't very good, but they ate vegetables and dairy products. Now everything is at a minimum.
The room is cleaned somehow. The declared compliments to regular guests have been removed.
The snacks on the beach have been removed, and the billiards can only be reached through the lobby.

Everything was more or less tolerable , but on 29.10 we were poisoned so that for 11 days we all have abdominal pain and diarrhea ! It's terrible!This negated All the positive aspects :(
