Last night at 1:00 I went to the hotel administration to ask to turn down the music. The administrator did nothing, lied that it would end in 20 minutes. It didn't end, I went to the DJ stand myself, because no one could do anything. Drunk and horrible men ran up to me and started yelling at me, and the hotel staff just stood and watched!!! I have never seen such a horrible attitude in my life. Never visit this hotel with children and on holidays. You will meet horrible hotel guests, horrible service, horrible soundproofing, horrible administration that can't do anything.
Overall, I really liked everything. It's a bit exhausting to drive 5-6 hours from Colombo, but we drove in the afternoon and took it as a tour of the island :)
The hotel is in excellent condition, very nice staff. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a room with an ocean view. I've been to a lot of places, but this was the best view from a room in my life.
The food is varied, 50/50 local (spicy) dishes and familiar to a European.
Compared to the photo, the greenery has grown in the hotel and it has become shady, and there are many sun beds on the territory that can be moved at will.
Everyone was afraid that it was off-season in March, but we didn't notice any signs: there were no waves or wind, and light rains were only at night.
I swam with a mask and fins on the reef. There are fish, there are corals. But, not too much. It's not very fascinating, but for the sake of entertainment, it's fine.
We mostly went to the public beach, across the river. There's plenty of shade from the greenery, not many people, and the entrance to the sea is ideal. There are no rocks, corals, or waves. We didn't bother the locals, they didn't bother us either. No problem at all.
It is a special pleasure to look at the stars in the evening and watch the flying foxes flying from palm tree to palm tree.
Entertainment options include a disco after dinner. There are water activities. The hotel has a suitable gym, a room with table games, tennis. There's billiards in the bar.
The hotel guides have a meager excursion program, due to the remoteness of the resort and the small number of tourists. Feel free to ask a representative of a company other than yours for the program. The prices are about the same, but the programs don't quite match. For example, one company's excursion to Sigiriya includes a trip to the Minneria Nature Reserve, not a full-fledged one, but still a replacement for the Yala Nature Reserve, which is only individually transported from this region.
Due to the scarcity of offers, we had to look for alternatives, and according to the advice on the Internet, we ran into the guide Madusanka Mahesh. +94 77 105 9029 – The man does not keep his word, did not return the money, and brazenly refused other compensation options. I do not advise you to look for adventures on your own. The deception of tourists in Sri Lanka is still present.
The hotel is great! Perfect cleanliness! The breakfasts are monotonous, but we didn't stay hungry. Delicious!)
The ocean is amazing! It's a little shallow, you definitely need sneakers, but the neighboring beach is sandy - you can swim and you don't need shoes! The territory is well maintained and beautiful. There are squirrels, crabs, and iguanas on the territory. There are monkeys behind the fence.
