It's not a bad museum, although it's very outdated. Completely offline, dusty. On the ground floor there is ancient Egypt (as well as a toilet) and even a descent into a room with a sarcophagus stylized as the tomb of the Pharaoh. Don't miss it, it's interesting! On the ground floor there are marine artifacts found at the bottom of the sea after earthquakes, statues, also ancient Egyptian and Roman. And above there are more modern periods. Muslim and Coptic Egypt, icons, interesting things, dishes. Children are frankly bored, and then they are forbidden to shoot on video. The museum is small, the inspection will take at most an hour.
On an excursion to the lower park of Peterhof, I ran around all the firecrackers and there was time left: I noticed a train to Alexandria (I read something a long time ago) I think - okay, let's see: A kind of antipode to the Parks of Peterhof, the unfinished park of the Pavlovsky Palace, the English park +, the Church of dreams, the Farmer's Castle, the Romanov cottages: and under an awesome tour. A spectrum of sensations was played on feelings and sensations like a piano. I will definitely come back.
An excellent small museum with a well-thought-out exposition: on the lowest floor there is a reconstruction of the burial with all the artifacts of excellent preservation, then the floor of the Ancient Kingdom, the floor of the New Kingdom, the floor of the Ottoman period and modern Alexandria. An interesting hall about artifacts recovered from the sea from the flooded royal quarter.
There is no audio guide, bring it with you or save something to read in advance. Everything that is minimally necessary is on the plates in English and Arabic.
Unfortunately, there is no shop or cafe at the museum.
